Stumbled across this restaurant on our last night of a 10 day European adventure. What a treasure. The food, ambience and staff was over the top. The patriarch of the restaurant Aki was so engaging and hospitable, we had a hard time leaving. I had the "fish soup" and my wife and I split a whole fish specially prepared. Truly outstanding. Food was ok but service was horrendous. The waitress hurried us to order food with a mean face and then disappeared; didn't even pour us a cup of water throughout our whole dining experience. When I sat down across my wife, the waitress chastised me and told me that I sat down in the wrong seat, all because she had placed the napkin in the other chair. read more

Good - excellent - service but the food was ordinary. As if the chef didn't care about it. Both of us found that our dishes lacked flavour and each was served in an indifferent display without any attention to detail or principles of food presentation. It's a bit of a machine operation. read more

My impression is that if you speak English expect bad service. The dinning room had one other table seated. They wanted us to wait while they prepared our table. It was next to the kitchen and despite all other tables being prepared with silverware and napkins we had none. Tables seated after us seemed to order and be served ahead of us. Other tables got bread and we had none. When food finally arrived we had no napkins and they obliged us by dropping off a stack of paper napkins while all other tables had cloth. Service was slow and rude. It seemed we were isolated to the worst table in the Restaurant despite it being relatively empty when we arrived. We should have left when there was a delay to be seated and discover then offering the kitchen door table. read more

Had the most fantastic dinner at Ristorante Sole last night. We sat outside, which was perfect in the summer heat (inside was much hotter). Service is fine, nothing extra-special. Food is delicious...we had: 1. Potato Crusted Seabass which was one of the best fish dishes I've ever had. 2. Spaghetti Arrabiata which my dad loved. 3. Marinara Pizza which was a bit bland for my taste but everyone else liked it. 4. Ravioli (not sure what type) but my daughter liked it. 5. Fish Carpaccio which my uncle liked a lot. Overall this place was really quite delicious and reasonably priced, and I wouldn't hesitate to return. read more

Came here on a Sunday night with 8 people. We made a reservation in advance for 7pm. The restaurant was not very crowded and our table was ready when we arrived. We were offered a wine menu when we first arrived. Some ordered wine and they asked if wanted still or sparkling water and we asked for still. The brought us a few throughout the meal and then we saw they were on our check at the end of the meal which we would have liked to know from the beginning. In terms of the food, it's over priced for small portions. I ordered a ravioli special and it was 5 raviolis. I was so hungry after my meal. The ravioli I did get was only ok as well. It was a pesto ravioli with Parmesan sauce. Both the Parmesan sauce and the pesto filling were bland. So many better options for Italian food in Vienna. read more

Really nice and good taste of Italian restaurant. I got the recommendation from my hotel concierge. The restaurant is quite busy but the waiter are really active and really helpful with the menu selection. We had selection of antipasto which are fresh ingredients and the pasta are very delicious. We got the fish for our main course which is not only look good but taste really good. I wish I can come back again. read more

If you're looking for the finest, freshest Italian food in Vienna come here ! The pasta is amazingly fresh and the seafood is abundant on every dish we've had and so, so fresh . They have a fresh fish on ice as you walk in. The owner walks around and makes you feel like family , he ended each dinner with bringing us a drink on the house . Go next store and finish your night in their little bar where Alex bartender and make you feel so welcome. We've been back over and over on our visit ! read more

Best orata fish and arguably best pizza bread in the city. Try their salad with shrimps and avocado. Favorite meeting spot of the opera and theatre celebrities. Good for romantic dinners, meetings, group celebrations. The quality of food is high standard. read more

We met an American couple in the lobby of our hotel who recommended this place to us. We were not disappointed. Authentic Italian experience (reminded me of my trip to Tuscany over the summer). Hold on to your wallet! Food was great, atmosphere was great, service was good until the very end when the waiter pulled a "tourist special" and insisted that we should provide a tip since the "service was not included". We felt obligated to tip, though that is not customary. read more

Good salad and Branzino; shabby service. It's a popular place very near our hotel. We chose it for our last dinner in Vienna because we knew there was grilled Branzino on the menu. We were greeted graciously, then shown to the back table just outside the kitchen. Food was good but took a long time to arrive. And then we grew cobwebs waiting for the waiter to bring our bill. For a 100€ dinner, we should have had better service. Would not go back. read more
