On the grounds of the Maranello village hotel, and blessed with a name like Paddock, I guessed it would be, at best, eatable food in a car crazy atmosphere. Ha, but this is Italy and as important as cars are, food comes first and this place proves it. Yes, there are car photos on the walls - of cars owned by a person I have written stories about for Ferrari publications- but the food was wonderful. The head waiter helped us pick by asking great questions and he delivered dishes all evening - we left stuffed! Worth mentioning is the risotto. A sad, glop in most American offerings, here it was ethereal. Flavored with local, aged Parmesan cheese, I could have 3 portions.
So surprised that the service, atmosphere, and food was top notch. Highly recommended. Just work with the wait staff to get the perfect meal. It's worth the effort and your trust will be rewarded. read more
