The only brewery in the heart of Girona. Watching the brewmaster hard at work monitoring and tweaking the beer recipe in the steel beer vats through the glass display window was priceless.
The hours of operation for the public to experience the taproom was limited to certain hours weekly and sadly closed Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.
They offered four home brewed beers on tap ranging in different tastes and alcohol by volume (abv) as follows: Münich Dunkel #6 5.4%, Session IPA 3.9%, Belgian Tripel 8.1%, Doble IPA #5 7.9%.
The server was pleasant and explained the contents of the four hoppy, amber and dark beers. She then poured each one into six ounce glasses which were startegically placed onto a brown wooden cutting board and in front of us on our table to gaze with anticipation. Delicious Manzanillo non-pitted green and yellow olives were provided as a side-dish.
The consumption of the cold brews began and each had its own identity. My palate enjoyed each of the four brews although the Session IPA was my favorite today.
Craft beer enthusiasts can also find Rispa brew in bottles distributed throughout Spain at various tap rooms and restaurants. We finished our flight of beers and had good conversation with the server and other tourists in the process, leaving with good memories and a wonderful experience. read more
