Local spot full of locals. Coffee was okay, nothing worthy of mention. Breakfast was edible but my omelette eggs were over cooked and nothing was blended. The ham and onions were on the plate and not inside the eggs. And the one slice of cheese was layered on top of the omelette like an afterthought. Never a good thing when your server brings your breakfast and you smell her cigarette stink and not the food. My guess is that this place stays in business simply because there is no where else serving breakfast in this area. Go to any of the fast food spots at least you know what your getting there.

BEST VALUE IN SPARTA!!!! The front is unassuming, borderline deterring. The sign is easily missed and misspelled coming from both directions, but this restaurant is OBVIOUSLY a local favorite due to the number of people occupying seats on a Tuesday morning. I had the pork tenderloin, hash browns, over medium eggs, biscuits and gravy for $8.50. Whoa. It was wonderful. This place is a prime example of hole-in-the-wall establishments which provide delicious food and/or great value. Plan to be a regular! Recommend

I grew up here and there was never much to choose from for local breakfast spots, so I was excited to see Rise & Shine open when I visited last. the upsides were that the staff was friendly, welcoming and made us feel at home and the prices are very low for what you get. Unfortunately, the food left a different impression. The picture of the food looks great, but the taste was far from anything that the picture displays. The ham was really thin, tough and extremely salty, probably the saltiest country ham I have ever had in my life; I love country ham but I couldn't even finish half of it. The eggs were good and the hash browns were fine. The biscuits were cold and dry like they had been setting out for a while. I really hate to give such a negative review because the place is welcoming and homey, but the food was just mediocre.

Food was mediocre and service was rude and terrible. Small town greasy spoon without a good waitress.

Need some work on the inside, but great place to meet your friends and share a plate lunch or a great BLT.

After dealing with the dog we checked the reviews and they were good so we decided to stay here and eat. We all really enjoyed our breakfasts. I got the breakfast with biscuits and gravy, even though she said they don't make the biscuits in house. It was very good. I also got grits and scrambled eggs. My husband got 2 eggs over easy with English muffins, bacon and grits. Our son got the breakfast with pancakes. The service was excellent and the interior was cute. Our server was really nice but I can't remember her name.

Read my reviews and you'll see that B&G is a frequent mention, especially when I travel away from home. And if there was a Mount Rushmore for B&G, I'm would put Family Ties' up on it... right next to Mom's Restaurant in Franklin, Ohio (formerly located in Red Lion). , Small order for $4.95. Large for $5.95. I added two eggs over easy. This is 2026 pricing! The plate came out looking unassuming. I ordered a small plate which is one open face biscuit with plenty of Gravy on top. (I didn't take a pic because I was in the small booth next to what I assume is the back door. The sun was casting shadows so I missed a great photo op). Looks are deceiving. This is some seriously good stuff. So simple but Sooooooo Good. Please don't ever change this recipe. I will be back!

We were excited based off some of the reviews and pictures, but ended up disappointed. I kept trying to find reasons to make the visit better, but everything just fell flat. For starters, the staff wasn't attentive at all. The hostess went to sit us outside as requested, because it looked so relaxing from walking up, upon entering the outside, many people were smoking (cigs, not vape). I'd don't mind if people smoke, but I don't want to eat a meal with it lingering around. We then went back inside and they sat us in the corner by the drink station/kitchen. Throughout the meal, the waitresses gossiped about their lives and their customers while the table next us a waitress was wrapping silverware. Our waitress didn't arrive for like ten minutes and then took forever to bring our drinks back. The vibes were just all off. Like they all wanted to get out of there and not be around each other. It wasn't even late. The food was average, nothing spectacular. We got a burger and the fish and chips. For a traditional pub, fish and chips should be one of the best things on the menu, less than par. The beer cheese soup was a highlight. Very good. We also ordered some type of pear cheeseburger. Different, but not bad. I'd try something else if I were to return. The decor is traditional pub meets modern hipster vibes. Hard to screw up. Although, limited beer options. Only 4 drafts for a pub is kinda weird. The good news is there's a brewery next door. Like I said, I was optimistic and excited. I don't give a lot of bad reviews but this one didn't hit the mark. Considering there are many other options within walking distance, I'd try something else if I were you.
