We cannot stop sharing the excellent service we received from Mr Houston and his team. They delivered high-quality customer service from the moment we walked in for the meeting with Mr Houston to the moment we stepped out of the limousine at the repass location. Mr. Houston was welcoming, warm, and friendly. He was very transparent during our discussion about the finances. We wanted to purchase our casket from another source and Mr. Houston was very accommodating of our wishes. He took the time to explain different types of cemeteries and interment systems so that we were able to make well-educated decisions. The information was clear and had no tricky fine print in the contract. The pleasant, homely ambience of the funeral home encouraged us the celebrate our dad's life rather than mourning a loss. Due to the pandemic, accommodation is restricted to 30-35 persons in the funeral home, which was fine for our family. We were very pleased with the dressing and makeup of the body. We used a Christian minister and a vocalist provided by the funeral home. I am a Christian and was not sure how well a funeral home preacher would deliver. Again, they delivered beyond our expectations. The minister skillfully blended our family cultures in his message to us. The vocalist was anointed, to say the least. Another wow moment for us was seeing the program presentation when we arrived for the service. CHFH created an impressive program on glossy 11 by 17 paper, definitely a keepsake. Mr Houston has a spirit of excellence that permeates every aspect of his business. My family is happy we worked with him and do not hesitate to recommend CHFH.

I really can't thank Joel enough for his patience. He showed me what was available and never pressured me into buying anything. When searching for direct cremation services after the death of a loved one, I called three places in Manhattan. Pricing was comparable but the conversations seemed impersonal, cold, and purely transactional. While I'm sure these other places provide fine services, my call to GV Funeral Home was the first conversation that felt warm and personal. They conveyed condolences (which in my experience was not standard protocol amongst others) and expressed a personal interest in my family's needs. By the time I visited to do our paperwork, I had spoken to multiple individuals at their business who all introduced themselves. My father, an older man, was the next of kin, and they took the time to ensure he understood what he was signing. The same level of care over the phone was further exemplified in person. There are many places that offer this type of service, but dealing with funeral directors Gregory and Jennifer reassured me that I was getting the care my loved one deserved. The exceptional level of service at GV Funeral Home helped alleviate the pressure of what is otherwise an incredibly difficult time.

Our family has used Farenga Funeral Home for years, which made this experience especially…read moredisappointing. There was very little patience or understanding during the insurance and payment process, adding unnecessary stress to an already painful time. During such a difficult moment, we expected our loved one to be treated with dignity, care, and respect. Saying goodbye is one of the most meaningful and lasting experiences a family faces, and every detail matters. Instead of leaving with comfort, we were shocked and distressed. It was heartbreaking to see her that way. That lack of attention to detail, care, and compassion was terrible. We were told the owner, Gus, would reach out to discuss our concerns, but he never did, which was very disappointing and spoke volumes. We hope that by sharing our experience, families will think twice before entrusting this funeral home with the care, respect, and dignity their loved ones deserve.
