The best price I got was for the Old Bridge Funeral Home so that's who we went with. They were great, very kind and were able to answer of all questions. I made sure to do this with every funeral home and when I eventually picked this place, the price they told me was significantly higher than I was originally quoted in writing. I explained this to the staff and they realized I was correct and they fixed the price for me.

I've been to a few services were prior to using them, and they were always lovely services. While a bit small inside, they make use of their space well and it's really nice inside. When my father passed in 2009 my mother and I used them to plan the funeral, and Barbra was nothing short of amazing. She's professional and makes you feel very relaxed and comfortable during a horrible stressful time. She answers any questions you may have. She obviously takes great pride in work, and loves what she does and it shows. She arranged a lovely military service for my father and had a real bugle player for the ceremony. (Some places just play a recording, which is an outright disgrace). Hoffman funeral home makes a stressful terrible time, a little easier and smoother.

She consistently referred to my aunt as "the body." I made a miscount as to how many pall bearers had arrived and she made a mocking comment about me to her co-worker. "I guess we forgot how to count!" She is seemingly unfit for this profession. In addition, I was charged $125 for a wooden cross and thank you notes that I never asked, for nor do I want. I was also charged $125.00for gratuities. Again, I was never informed of this until I received a bill. In addition to the $300 fee for 'Dressing, casketing and cosmetology' I was charged $75 for a hairdresser. What a terrible way to take advantage of people at their weakest moments.

At the end of it all he didn't even give his condolences even though he knew I was her son. Any other person could've done a better job and coming from a man who lost his own mother in his arms I would've expected at-least a little more empathy towards me and my stepfather.

I flew out from California, and I really did not expect much from a funeral home. Seems to be pretty standard and almost like you're just on auto pilot during these types of experiences. That's where I feel Clayton & McGirr stands out. Katelyn went above and beyond to make my family feel welcome and as comfortable as possible during a very difficult and emotional time. Now, my family is very big. Most of my family lives on the East Coast. There are a LOT of us. However, the team ensured we all had places and rooms to sit, away from the viewing parlor if needed. We have a few rambunctious toddlers in our family (my child included!) and I was a bit nervous that they would be a bit distracting for everyone. When the parents of the toddlers kept trying to reel them back in when they were running around the hallway, Katelyn just smiled and said it was totally ok. She said she understood because she has toddlers at home too. It was a relief knowing that they allowed our toddlers (who had just gotten off red-eye flights and were refusing naps) to get all that nervous energy out. It was far too cold to let them play outside at night during the second viewing, and again the team just smiled as our kids were running around in the hallways. It was definitely reassuring. Katelyn, in particular, was so warm and friendly. I told one of my cousins, who was the one in touch with the funeral home, that I feel Katelyn could be a friend. She laughed and said, "I told Katelyn the same thing!" They keep the home clean and the parlors are clean and serene. Everything is well taken care of, and they take pride in appearance. The outside landscape is very well-manicured. There is plenty of parking. The funeral was held at a Catholic Church, and again they were very respectful when handling the casket. They kept open communication the entire time. The team really treated us like family, and that's exactly what we needed during a somber and emotionally exhausting time.
