It was nice meeting brothers Marcus and John at Barbercode Barbershop tonight (10/30/2025). I think…read morethis is probably the most detailed haircut I've received in my 40+ years and definitely the most detailed beard treatment I've ever had. I don't trust most barbers with my beard and especially my mustache. Marcus shaped both perfectly. Then a lengthy shampoo and then a conditioner, with a nice warm/hot towel applied over my face during that (nose/mouth not covered, easy to breathe, for those who might have concerns). Never had that done before by any barber/hair salon. It felt so nice and relaxing. After that I was saying how nice it was to meet them and about to pay, and they told me I wasn't done yet! Back in the chair for even more detailed last touches to my hair and beard with a straight razor! I was very impressed. Marcus pays great attention to detail and symmetry. Also, Marcus and John are just really nice dudes who are easy and fun to talk to. I'll definitely be returning the next time I need a cut/shave. Make sure to go to the new address at 30 McGovern Ave, Lancaster, PA 17602. Plenty of easy free parking in parking lot on the side away from the street. They are also open later than most barbershops, closing at 9-10PM. Call ahead to check. - Brian Services: Scissor cut, Razor cut, Beard trim, Straight razor shave, Hair shape up, Fade cut, Shampoo, Conditioner, Hot Towel

After the cut, I asked the dude how much I owed him and he responded "$20" with a sly look on his face. I thought maybe I had mistaken the price so I paid the guy and left. Today, we booked with Amaya Serrano and my husband must have entered the wrong appointment time because he ended up showing up 10 minutes late. Despite being confused and apologetic (he thought he was on time) Amaya was very rude and dismissive. She was visibly annoyed and insistent that only an abbreviated cut could be done due to timing. This was an otherwise empty shop at the time. I can understand time constraints, and even being turned away due to being late, but what I can't understand is the lack of kindness and lack of customer service in general. We will be spreading the word about Amaya at fine linez.

I was home visiting and badly needed a cut before vacation. I figured it had been 10 years surely things must've changed. I went in, showed how I wore my hair (plenty to brush back) and asked for just a trim with scissors and he agreed to keep it nice and full. After seeing all my hair falling down the drape I even thought "wow do I really have that much hair?" He spins me around and - the butchers strike again. He must've taken more than 2.5 inches off and gave me a high and tight buzz like I'm a sergeant in the military. My head looks like an egg. No more brushing my hair back since it's so short it can only stick straight up. Please learn from my mistakes and stop trusting these guys. (Unless you do buzz cuts then they're fine)

Tina was great! I got the best haircut I've gotten in a long time. Tina (the owner/stylist) really listens to what you want. Throughout the haircut, she asked me if I wanted to adjust this or that, talked about what she was doing, and it was really helpful in getting the perfect cut that for me will be both easy to maintain, able to dress up, and also really stylish. She nailed it. She also seems like a really great person. Very nice, down to earth, and easy to work with...with a great sense of style & what will work for you. When you first walk in the decor is bright and cozy. Tina has done a great job at creating a trendy and warm salon. I have had short blonde hair for many years and have gone to many salons in the tri-state area from Lancaster, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and New York. Alana at Viva La Vida does the best color of them all. To top that off her cuts are great as well. She is so customer oriented- she really listens to what you want and asks all the right questions. I've recommended for two of my pickiest friends to go to Alana and they both raved about her, and of course now get their hair done regularly by her.
