Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience here. The customer service was polite, but the level of professionalism from the wax specialist was questionable. I was dropped in a room and told to undress. I wasn't given a sheet or anything to cover myself with that could've been slid down once the technician started. When she came in, she asked me to turn on my back and raise my legs to wax between my cheeks. I expressed I'd never had it done that way for JUST between the cheeks. She shared that she'd never done between the buttocks only. After the first, very painful strip, I insisted to turn on my stomach bc I didn't want a knee-jerk reaction of accidentally kicking her. She allowed me to but had a very difficult time with removing the wax. She shared that there was some wax left, and it'll come off in the shower. Well, there's so much wax left that my butt cheeks are essentially glued together. I'll have to use oil to remove the large chunks of wax. I also question the sanitation aspect because the waxing table only had a very thin strip of paper that didn't cover the whole table. While the team was very nice, I doubt that I will return. read more

Called to make an appointment for a Brazilian, the lady told me TWICE that she didn't know what a thin landing strip was. If you don't understand that, how can you call yourself a Brazilian wax company?! Hard pass. Found another establishment. read more

Not only I love the results from the waxing process, but service is great and calming. Juliana M is always super sweet to me and great at her job gets it done in 15 20 minutes tops so I highly recommend going to her. read more

I just witnessed a client being denied services because she was 2 minutes past the grace period. After the client requested to speak to the aesthetician to see if she could still see her, the aesthetician was sitting on the couch with her legs crossed and said she couldn't see her. And almost with a smirk on her face. I was so disgusted and I left. I will not ever return to this location. That to me was terrible customer service... TERRIBLE! read more

I have been coming to Rio for a year now and I don't see myself going anywhere else. I'm usually waxed by Jenny but her schedule doesn't allow her to be at this location often so I went with my mom's advice to wax with Silvania. She is amazing. Great personality with over the top dedication to what she does. She's very precise about her work, extremely gentle and attentive to your needs throughout the entire process. Be sure to request her because my girl gets the job done read more

Definitely Recommend. They always do an awesome job with every service. The products are great and I have never had an adverse reaction to anything. read more

Juliana was an absolutely amazing. I graduated for aesthetician school a year ago and the way she handled me today as the first time client at Rio was wonderful. I will definitely be coming back. Her vibe energy makes me want to be like her in this field. Thanks again see you in 3 weeks . read more

I checked in without an appointment, but I only waited 2-3 minutes before I was called back. The room was clean and prepped. The music was soothing and the technician also used a fan. This was my first time getting a full body wax. Tammy made the process as simple and painless as possible. She was very thorough and instructed me along the way. The price was amazing for a full body wax. I have no complaints and I will definitely revisit this location. read more

Tried this salon for the first time today and it was amazing! The rooms were clean and the waxing was super thorough! Might have to be my new go to wax place! read more

The best waxes ever for the best pricing. I'm gonna start flying into the south just to keep up with my waxes here!

This place is my favorite for waxing! I've been getting Brazilians for almost 4 years now & seen several different people at different waxing places. I got recommended to come here & got Patricia as my esthetician! I've been coming for about 6 months & not only is she super friendly & quick, but the whole staff is super sweet and accommodating! Their prices are very reasonable as well. As a cosmetologist, knowing the state board standards & rules, this salon follows & exceeds all the categories. It is so clean & they use the proper wax techniques for your body. If you're looking for a sign to go get waxed- THIS IS IT! You won't regret it. Go see them! read more

Ask for Evelyn! She was quick and precise. She talked me all the way through the process. I've been to Rio a few times, each time I'm always in and out. The receptionist was super nice as always as well! I'll continue going to this location. read more

Had my first time ever experience today in getting a Brazilian wax & my full legs waxed. So as this being my first time ever I did my search and read reviews of different places and went with Rio's. The receptionist greeted me well and we even spoke a little due to this being my first time. Receptionist was really friendly and nice! My wax lady whom did me was Mel. & let me say, she definitely made me feel 100% comfortable. I felt really nervous as this being my first time but she did an amazing job!! I highly would recommend Ms.Mel! Loved how she was very careful and gentle. We even conversated well and that definitely made it feel not weird as my first time. I will definitely be back! read more

I decided to update my review because the manager, Patricia, reached out to me and she was just so sweet and so apologetic about my past experiences! We spoke for a while and her positive attitude during the call clearly showed me that customer service is super important to them - and the loss of stars on last visit was customer service based. She even offered me a discount on my next service (which I declined because I was happy with my actual hair removal service) - but I totally appreciated the offer. I did remind her that my previous 3-star review shouldn't be taken as an insult and I didn't mean that I didn't plan on coming back - 3-stars on Yelp means A-Ok. She also explained to me that they're family-owned - and a lot of her staff are family members so there's a bit of learning curve / extended training window. She assured me that my previous review was used as coaching tool for the employee and she seemed genuine. This was another positive for me - most of the times if you unknowingly complain about a family member - the owner / manager tends to get super defensive because their love for that family member clouds their ability to be objective or take constructive criticism about the employee. But that wasn't the case here: the owner heard what I had to say and agreed. As I mentioned before - I'm not super hairy and the body hair I do have grows really, really slowly - so I actually haven't been to any hair removal salons since my last visit with them. I'll definitely stop back by, though, the next time my underarms need sprucing up. read more

I would highly recommend this location I usually go to the Douglasville location but due to no availability I chose austell and who ever was available. I ended up being waxed by Leslie & it's safe to say Douglasville will no longer be seeing me. I will be switching over to the austell location with Leslie. She was amazing, and made me feel comfortable we had a very natural conversation the entire time I was being waxed and I was pleased with my results as it was been a while since I've gotten a Brazilian wax. The best I've had in a while. read more

My best wax experience thus far. Tried this place for the first time today. Camila was great and very patient with me HIGHLY recommend. She also does after care! Which I've never had that before. She took very good care of me. Finally found the provider for me. Will be returning. read more

I was contacted by an older woman who tried to influence me to change my review. My opinion still stands. The management is poor and the vibe is very low. The technicians are doing their best, but the management is toxic and rude. I won't spend another dime at this location. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE ! I'm so sad that I found "my wax place" as I decided to move. But Whenever I come back home I make sure to come here. Their environment is very clean, nice, and quiet. They offer a variety of different waxes as well as other services! I have very sensitive skin and sometimes after a wax I get bumps down there if the way is cheap or too hot during application. With this place I had no problems ! This was probably the smoothest wax I've ever had in my life and it lasted for such a long time. If you live in Cobb County I definitely recommend going to this location or any of their other locations amazing people and amazing work! read more

The room seemed unsanitary. The same dipping stick used for my bikini area was also used under my arms. Hit was was everywhere including on my face! I left all sticky and gooey and just felt downright nasty. The room was also uncomfortably small. Both the technician and front desk agents were however pleasant. read more

I went to Rio after going to the European Wax Center for an underarm wax in Kennesaw because it is cheaper. This was my first time getting a full leg wax. When I walked in, the lady did not really greet me and I had to wait even though I had an appointment. The women that work there spoke Spanish to one another while there were customers waiting in the lobby, which I think is rude. When the lady called me back she pointed to a room and said you can get ready in here. Since I have never done the leg waxing before I had to ask her what I needed to do, she told me to lay on my stomach. When she came back in she didn't say a word and just started applying the wax. At the European Wax Center they let you know when they are beginning. When she finished the back of my legs, she asked me to turn over so she can do the front and she forcefully spread my legs instead of asking me to open them. When she was finished, she applied baby oil without telling me first. She decided to ask if it was my first time AFTER she had finished. She promptly left after that. I will not be back. I will gladly go to the European Wax Center where they make you feel welcome, they speak to you, and they give you products and pamphlets. I will pay the extra money, it is worth it. If you don't know any better, you would think Rio was the norm. read more

Let me tell you I love coming here everybody is super nice and professional and make you feel super comfortable... I was a walk in. They were quick, made me feel comfortable, and did a great job. I will def be coming back !!

I know it's not good I cheat but, I did... with Claudia my NEW wax lady and she's great! I was a little skeptical because I have been going somewhere else, but since the bridge collapse and and 24 min drive turned into an hour I was like nah... I'll go 5 mins away. Nonetheless, I'm glad I did! Claudia, was very pleasant, profesional, and patient. Which made me feel very comfortable. And, after 3 months of not being waxed, she definitely had her work cut out for her. Lol she paid very close attention to removing the hairs, and those little stubborn hairs that wouldn't come up; instead of waxing over and over she takes a moment to remove them with tweezers. I also like the fact the she uses a almost circular, but not quite motions instead of an up an up and down motion... which assures that the hairs are removed properly. I will definitely be coming back to see her. And yuh should request her as well! As far as the facility... very neat, clean and sanitized. The only thing I would like them to do is incorporate, better oils and other products for after care. Other than that NO COMPLAINTS! read more

This was only my second time ever getting a wax but I will be returning when the time comes!!! Very very friendly staff! Camilla was so gentle and she helped calm my nerves because I don't deal with pain very well! Like I said, this was only my second wax EVER and it was virtually painless! If you're new to waxing, definitely book an appointment with Camilla! :) read more

I've been going to Rio's Body wax for 6 months and I always get great service! I love Patricia and Kenetty. You can't go wrong with any of the ladies at Rio's but if you are a newbie to body waxing, I would recommend Patricia & Kenetty. Both ladies are so friendly and patience. You don't really have time to feel any pain because by the time they finish asking you about your day and making you laugh about the kids, they are done. Thank you Ladies! read more

Good professional & courteous service. Very clean / sanitary up to date office No complaints it's body wax nothing to exactly mess up. The wax they use seems to be a little less harsh on the skin as well. Pricing is the same as their competitors. I'll continue to come back. read more

I had my eyebrows done and I was not impressed. This is the first eyebrow place I've gone to where they didn't clean the area around the brows before waxing. Therefore there was a lot of stray hairs that was really apparent esp in sunlight. It was a total waste of money. I didn't go back to have them fix it because I didn't trust them. read more

This is the BEST PLACE EVER. Patricia is the best esthetician I've ever been to. Her professionalism and work ethic is amazing that she makes me forget about the pain of waxing. Daniella and Patricia are the best! They are always friendly and welcoming and they make an otherwise unpleasant experience as comfortable and professional as possible. I started at Rio on Camp Creek, then Douglasville (where Caroline and Loriana are awesome). HORRIBLE customer service. "Claudia" was curt, rude and did a HORRIBLE job on my brows. She put wax on my eyelid and left the room when done, leaving me laying on the unstable, creaky table and walked out. Not a "thank you," or one word spoken. Just botched my brows, handed me a mirror, took it back, left me in the room and walked up front and took back the next customer. She didnt even bother to change the paper on the table despite my pointing out the oil smear on the head rest. The place is hot and uncomfortable and despite voicing a complaint about my service, I was left sitting in the lobby with no assistance. NEVER going back. First time, and LAST! I received better service and brow waxing at nail salons. read more

So this was my first time getting anything on my body waxed and it was the worst experience I've ever had. There were 2 women working there, their attitudes were very nonchalant. I was led to one of the back rooms by the one who would be doing my wax, she told me to strip all the way down and lay on my stomach so I did. I felt a little uncomfortable because she never introduced herself or told me how the process would work even though I told her this was my first time and that I was really nervous. I was getting the full body wax (legs, underarms and Brazilian) when she started my legs it was painful because she went extremely fast, when she was done she then started my underarms and brazilian. I asked her before she started, since the Brazilian will obviously be the most painful will you be doing little patches at a time? She answered with a simple "No". This scared me even more, she put the wax on 2 patches then proceeded to rip them off, one right after the other, the pain was off course excruciating, while she did this she totally lacked kindness and patience. This is very different from what I see on the YouTube videos where they are talking you through the process and taking their time. After the 3rd strip on my Brazilian I started crying and told her to just stop the Brazilian and do my underarms so she did and just walked out. I was just so stunned at the lack of care for someone's first time, she didn't even clean off the leftover bits of wax residue on my skin nor did she offer me any wipes or wet paper towels so I could clean myself off. I was just so upset and a little embarrassed. I just felt like she didn't even care, this won't be my last wax but it will be my last time coming here read more
