The leg and foot massage that accompanied my Pearl pedicure was worth 5 stars all on its own. And the accompanying polish on my toes (non-Solar) was carefully applied by the owner. He was fantastic - I was definitely feeling pampered! Would've rated this location with three stars as the Solar polish job on my fingernails wasn't great. Take a look at the pic - my nails weren't polished to the edge even after I asked for a fix, twice. Not sure if she was new to using the polish or couldn't see with the relatively dim lighting. Also had a little extra polish left on my thumb and fingers. BUT - again - that foot & leg massage: very soothing; super relaxing! There were a few extras that were a nice surprise: a paraffin wax on both my hands and feet after a thorough massage - my skin feels lush. Everyone was super kind and accommodating: this is a mom-n-pop shop store with reasonable prices: try it out if that's what you're in the market for. This was my second visit. I would recommend calling ahead and or making an appointment. The salon is very clean and they offer many services which include: manicures, pedicures, and wax. The spa has been in the same location for ten years... I can't believe I am just finding out about this place. The staff is very professional. The pedicure was one of the best I have had in Albuquerque! The gel manicure lasted three weeks and my skin felt so soft. My usual spot is closed on Tuesdays and I had forgot that and went to get a pedicure. This place is just a few doors down and had good reviews so I went to check it out. At the time they were not by appointment only so I was able to walk in. I chose a treatment that included a massage and paraffin treatment. There was no one else in the salon and I still had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes. I'm not really sure why. Then I picked a gel polish which I know usually has a $10 up-charge. They did not mention how much the additional charge would be so I didn't think much of it. When we got to the massage part she was very rough, actually causing me discomfort. I asked her to ease up some and not dig her fingers into my calf so hard. She did not seem to understand me and continued to hurt me. I finally had to tell her to stop and move on to the paraffin treatment. She still did not seem to understand so I had to physically stop her. I had bruises later and I never get bruises from my usual spot and I always get a massage there as well. Once everything was finally done I went to pay and discovered that the gel polish was a $20 up-charge. It would have been nice to know that. I went from a $60 treatment to a $70 treatment plus tip. Yes I still tipped but not as much as I would have if it had been a better experiance. I will not be going back here. read more

Sloppy gel polish to nails. Cut off my nail length despite me asking to keep it and asked for rounded which he filed square. The only response when I inquired was "they grow back". Slim nail color selection. Only light colors are grey and pink. No cream or white/pastels. Clean place but only 2 techs so wait time was lengthy. $16.99 plus tip for gel polish with no soaking of old polish! Seems pricey! Won't return. Not as good as I expected. The only thing good was the price. The tech that did my pedicure and manicure seemed to be in a hurry. Cut too much length off my nails. Did not shape my nails nicely. Did sloppy polish job and laid the polish on too thick. Nicked my skin by my big toe. Felt that he was kind of rough with massage. Needless to say, I won't be returning. This place SUCKS!!! Cut my toe with no apologies. Yelled when I couldn't decide quickly on the colors and halfway through my manicure told me to leave and told me they could not do my nails. Had a manicure pedicure done here yesterday by douglas whom is one of the owners. Hands down, the absolute best mani/pedi I have ever experienced in my 18 years in this city. I have gone to the much higher end salons and paid much more for much less quality, service, and customer care. I cannot recommend this salon more.
