The nail tech I had was rude, I told her the name of the color I wanted, she told me 'I can only go by numbers, not the name'. Then as she's filing my nails, she tells me , 'I waited to long' for my fill in. You don't know peoples circumstances, to make a comment like that, you are not doing me a favor by doing my nails. I notice too it's a price increase more & more, needless to say, I will not be returning. read more

Fill in. I had the worse experience ever. The guy that sits all the way in the back made me feel unwelcome. He did not have me wash my hands before painting. He did not clean under my nail. He just had an attitude the whole time like I was bothering him. I was there for less then an hour. He said 42.00 then said no 45.00. I only had 20 dollar bills so i gave him 60 and told him to keep the change. He shouldn't have gotten anything for how he made me feel. But i just wanted to get out of there before my blood pressure went any higher. If they dont want to do someones nail they shouldn't. Sorry i stopped in there. Rating would have been a 0 for how i felt. read more

So, I patronized this nail salon some years ago, but I never returned because I told the woman servicing me that I am allergic to latex. She said ok, but when I closed my eyes to be waxed, she placed both of her hands with latex gloves on my face, of which resulted in an allergic reaction. However, this week, a young lady told me that she's been getting her nails done at Rio for five years and recommended that I try them. I was greeted and serviced immediately. However, the young lady was drilling my natural nail and kept saying, "I didn't do anything." She clearly knew she was doing something because I hadn't verbally responded to the burning of my nails related to her drilling. Then, when she finished my nails, I asked her if she was going to clean up around my nails. She told me they don't do that there. I was shocked. I've never not had my nails cleaned up when having them done. She said it would be an extra $10. I told her that I didn't want a manicure, and that was something I've had done every single time I've had my nails done. I told her that I was not happy with the service and that they should work on their services. Then, she had difficulty with her pricing and receipt. I was so taken aback, but accepted that I'd chosen to return. Needless to say, I will not return ever again. read more

I stopped in yesterday to get a pedicure and figured I would just get a full set too. I waited 30 minutes for someone to start on my pedicure and she rushed through both my pedicure and full set because they were having a lot of walk ins. I mean the pedicure and full set took less than an hour. The nail tech was so busy complimenting herself to notice that I was very displeased. My nails are very uneven, some are wide, some are slim and the color is so horrible. I got a matte top coat so you can really see all the imperfections on my nails. I will never visit this place again and I will be sure to warn my friends and family. Do not waste your time or money here. $91 dollars down the drain and I for sure did not tip. read more

This was my second time in the shop and again It was a rush job and because the girl could do NO designs ( nor any type of alternative), she made me feel like my only option was to get plain color then offered to add a sticker like I was 12. Not to mention I told her one of my nails is loose and the tech just painted over it with no repair. They rush through and don't take the time to listen to the customer. read more

Please don't waste your time and money. This is the nail salon from hell, the people working at this location are rude. The do what they want or claim they don't know how to do design. I wouldn't recommend. First time going and last. Nail tech, Teresa, did not know what she was doing when taking off my acrylic nails. I asked her to buff the color so that she could see what she was doing. Why do I have to tell you how to safely remove nails?! read more

I had a horrible experience with this salon with Theresa. She did something permanent to my nails without telling me. When I questioned why it wasn't being removed on my next visit she then informed me it's permanent and can't be removed. She proceeded to tell me that all her other customers don't care. I responded saying I'm not them take it off please she said oh next time and painted over it promising it couldn't be seen under the polish. That was a lie. So upon returning she proceeded to try and paint over the permanent design again. I pulled my hand back and reminded her you said you would fix it. She again started to tell me about her other customers not caring. I said I'm not them and I want it off my nail now. She put her hand up and raised her voice telling me to just calm down. I told her do not tell me to calm down as I'm not angry. I want my nails done correctly. She became very nasty and did not complete my nails correctly. I complained to the owner who at the time apologized and said his wife Kim would do my nails from now on. He made a 10:30 appointment for the 30th. I arrived for my appointment and after sitting for 15 minutes approached the male owner. I said hi my appointment was for 10:30 with your wife. He says oh she has a customer I told you I would do it. He's I doing someone else's nails and tells me I have to wait another 15 minutes. Three people come in after me and are seated and serviced. When I explain that he should have told me things changed he stated well I'm busy and I'm Not going to push her to the side so if you can't wait and shrugged his shoulders. I walked out at 10:50 my appointment was for 10:30. My sister warned me that the owner wasn't going to do anything to help me as she goes to the same shop. Very unprofessional. You should not have to debate with someone you're paying for a service. Especially when they are wrong. No one apologized and they didn't care. Very disappointed with the owners and their technician Theresa. To treat a regular customer this way is disrespectful, unprofessional and absurd. I will not return and will tell others to not use them as well. read more

First off must I say I been going to Rio nails since they opened! I love the owner he's a sweet heart I use to go to Tiffany she did the best nails there and I know because I've tried them all and she was the best she left and they wouldn't tell me where she went so I started to go to Nicole. Big mistake!!!! Nicole does nails nicely but she has an attitude problem! She thinks that she's queen B! She's always getting smart so I just stopped going there completely now I go up the street to Tulip nails (They are heaven sent!) I brought my little sister here to get hers done before and she loves them so she still goes there. Well until today! My sister wanted Nicole to do her eyebrows and granite she was with a customer so she said we had to wait until 5:25 it was 4:38 at the time so my sister really wanted them done so literally we waited. 5:25 she comes back in the salon and Nicole is finished with the customer and walks past my sister and says you still have to wait and walks right passed her. RUDE! They will never get my money again they are legit the worst! In the beginning they were great but it seems like all the original people that were actually good left so I'm completely done with this place. They need to tell their employees to be nicer. They will never get another dollar from me or my sister. read more

I didn't even want to give this place any stars. I was recommended by a friend to go here since we both get our nails done quite frequently. I was getting a gel pedicure and the "tech" that was doing them had no idea what he was doing. While removing my previous gel polish he squirted acetone in my eye, accidentally, while three other techs witnessed, yet all of them lied to the manager later on when I was telling her. As I was showing the guy the design I wanted on my big toe with a reference picture he could not understand me. The manager comes over to see the picture and says "you know what, pick out a design later" as if i was going to change my mind. When he was filing my nails with the electric filer he went down so far it started to sting and burn, eating through too many layers. Every time he noticed he did it he held my toe super tight knowing it was burning. By the time he was done painting my nails he got up and grabbed the plastic gel polish displays and rudely tossed them to me and said "pick new color" even though i did not ask for a new color. By the time he got to the gem design I was so embarrassed and aggravated so I said "just put the top coat on so I can leave" and the manager ran over and said "no no let him do and try". When I finally got out of that chair I went to the counter to discuss my experience with the manager. She argued with me when I said I wasn't paying full price for horrible service and nails that looked nothing like they were supposed too. By this time everyone, employees and customers, we're staring at me and the manager just kept saying "no design looks so good! You pay full price!" I wish I had the guts to walk out. But I don't. So I ended up paying 35 instead of 50. The blue design shown below is what i wanted on my big toe. The design I got looks absolutely horrible. read more

Updating my review. I have been going to Rio nails for about 3 months. Needless to say it was a pretty decent place, enough for me to refer several people to them. However, I went on Monday and the experience was not good at all. The girl Nicole rushed through my entire pedicure and gel nail fill. To the point where I started 20 mins after my step mom and still finished 20 mins before her. There was no massaging during the pedicure, no hand massage after my nails were done. I will not be back. I will not spend 88 dollars every two weeks for someone to rush through my process. Not to mention I asked for a design on my ring fingers and the design looked like an Easter egg. I will be finding somewhere else to go from now on. read more

Rio Nails & Spa - I asked for lines and showed reference pictures similar to a henna tattoo, instead this is what I got . - Waxing Near Me - Winslow Township, New Jersey

Today I went and got a basic gel refill. I had an appointment for 4:15 and did not get service til 4:35!!! I wanted to walk out already at the beginning... but I desperately needed my nails done. All I wanted was for them to shorten my nails down and apply a design. She began by rushing and cutting my nails super unevenly! My left thumb nail is waved and shorter than my right! I also picked one of the designs that was on display, thinking they would be able to do it. when attempting to apply it the technician completely messed up then looks at me like it looked good. I told her to just apply all white because I was not paying $8 extra for that! In the midst of her attempting the design orange color dripped onto one of my nails and she carelessly wiped it off with a paper towel. leaving a discolored spot on my pointer finger. My friend also went with me and got regular color... they did not have hand driers for her they sent her home with wet nails. We will not be going here again and I do not recommend this place to anybody else. Also they do not accept card at all strictly cash, super inconvenient. read more

HORRIBLE!! I came in to get my acrylic nails taken off. I knew I was gonna have a bad experience from the moment I sat in the chair. The nail technician was paying me no mind for the first 3 minutes while she was laughing with another worker over something on her phone. The towel they had for me to rest my hands on WAS WET AND HAD OTHER ACRYLIC NAILS ON IT, gross. She was using another acrylic nail to get mine off and was doing it way to hard, she made me bleed twice! After all of that she still couldn't get the nails off so she used a drill. The drill was burning my nails, I told her it burned and kept pulling away, and she giggled. Worst business by far, don't waste your money here who knows what else is unsanitary read more

Average work, but when it comes to preserving the health of your nails they could not care less. I came in today to remove acrylics and they just use a piece of new acrylic to forcefully peel off the set. When I asked if there was a gentler way to remove it (soaking first) she acted like I had no idea what I was talking about. Only salon I've ever been to that uses this barbaric method of removing nails. My thumb nail now has a huge crack in the middle. There are better places, they're not worth it. Just want their money, don't care about customers at all. Lucky I don't ask for a refund. No tip for her. Won't be coming back read more

Wish i could give zero stars. This place used to be awesome ... then they started getting rough , trying to rush you out the door. My daughter got hurt getting her last pedicure there ...and the last two times i was there i was cut during my manicure, by Amy. Is she even licensed ?? She drew blood on the same finger , same spot , two separate times.... leading to a massive infection on my middle finger. Three urgent care trips, 4 diff antibiotics, and a $750 deductible later, the infection finally went away. NEVER going here ever again, and DEFINITELY spreading the word. read more

This is a great spot. I'm new to the area and stopped in to get a gel set done. The staff was friendly. I had Christina and she was great and very pleasant to talk to while she explained the steps of the gel full set process. She warned me of the slight pain I would feel as it was my first time. I was referred here by my mom since it is closer than our usual salon. At first it was ok, I picked my color && she began to start my acrylic refill. It took about an hour and I was not happy with my finished product, the shape of my nails were round and not coffin, she didn't use a base coat, and the gel is uneven. The following day two of my nails broke && I went back at around 4;00 to get them fixed. To fix a nail should only take 10-15 minutes and at most places they take you right away. When I told them what I needed the women who sits in the front told me I had 5 people ahead of me and that I would need to wait. I decided to come back the next day and when they brought me back to the chair the women tried to take the remaining acrylic off with a nail and when she couldn't get it off she used the machine to file it down. The women was filing in the same place to hard to the point where my nail was burning, I told her that it hurt and she proceeded to do it and did the same thing to my other nail. Once she put the acrylic on she told me to place my hand under the UV light and after a minute my nail began to burn again. When she was finally done she charged me $5.00 and her and the women who sits up front said I need to be careful next time and watch what I am doing. They were also making fun of a customer who had trouble fitting in the pedicure seats right in front of me, they laughed at this women and kept staring. Needless to say I will not be returning. read more

Yes it is a clean place. However, that is about all it has going for it. Somehow there was a communication error with my mother and the lady doing her nails. My mother asked for gel & tips, the woman kept asking her dip (my mother still heard tip). Being said; the job either way was sloppy, and apparently since it was a dip, they won't clean your cuticles without a fee. My mother kept expressing her dislike and the lady just kept saying that is how it is, till the minute we walked out the door. I took her back the next day ( I have never gone back to any business after a service, so you can imagine the dissatisfaction). After a few back and forth on who said what, the "owner" fixed her nails; my mother first thing she said was the owner was more gentle. I am grateful the owner fixed it, especially since none of them thought it was a good job. Obviously not going back, but it should be a learning lesson for them. Not everyone walking in is a nail professional, you should be able to explain what you are doing, not everyone knows what a 'dip' is for all she knew you were pronouncing it wrong since she walked in asking for a gel tip. And if you are rushing to finish your night maybe not take a person looking for a service that takes more than an hour. read more

Multiple local choices, my experience has been very favorable related to quality and timeliness of service at this salon.

Horrible - stay away. I was looking for a new place and thought I would try here for an acrylic refill. First, I was told that 3 of my nails were starting to lift and needed to be replaced. Ok - I agreed but only after they took them off (literally NO effort - they were basically lifted off already) they then told me I would be charged $7 for 3 new nails (that was a discount - should have been $3 PER nail) - what new nails? They just added the acrylic on top of my own nails - why was I charged extra for that? Then another $2 charge to cut them shorter. I'll admit most nail places say they charge for this - but in well over 20 years of getting my nails done, I have never ever been charged for that. Not to mention it was made obvious they were talking about different customers because all at once, all the workers would look at one costumer or another. With so many other choices around - go elsewhere read more

The best thing I can say about this place is that they are friendly. I generally don't post reviews, but I had a terrible experience because the person was simply lazy. I went in for a manicure. They insisted that I needed a gel manicure, which I did not want. After some insistence, I was finally allowed to pick a color and sat down for a manicure. She trimmed my nails, filed them, soaked them, and immediately began polishing. I stopped her and asked if she would mind doing my cuticles because basically that's why I get a manicure. She said they were good, but when I asked that she do them anyway, she did... barely! She then proceeded to polish, one coat, then sent me to the dryer. I also got my eyebrows waxed. Not only did she leave wax all around both eyebrows, she didn't use tweezers at all. She just did it and told me to get up, no mirror, no cream, nothing! Basically, the bare minimum. I had to get them redone the next day (somewhere else). I will never go there again. There are 5 nail places within a mile of each other. I'll use one of them, and I would suggest you do too! read more
