It pains me to write this review as 2 years ago I went to this restaurant with my mother and had an…read moreamazing meal and experience. I'm thinking management must have changed because wow the staff has been better. We both ordered the same thing which we loved from our last trip 2 years ago, the Royal Red Alfredo. We get our dish and it is clearly not what we ordered last time but figure we haven't seen our waitress for 10 minutes and she never even checked on us. We had been out all day so we're starving. Oh, worth mentioning...it was my Birthday. Didnt even get a "Happy Birthday" after mentioning it to our waitress. My mother had to get a refill from the bar. The more we eat the more we realize this wasn't what we ordered, but rather the Shrimp Scampi variant. We call for the manager who argues with us over what an Alfredo sauce is which clearly it is not...he swears it is and that it has separated into God knows what as all we see is a soppy mess of butter and garlic. I show him a picture from Yelp of another customer's Alfredo from the restaurant we are CURRENTLY sitting in and told this is an old picture...We both realize we're getting gaslit as we know what an alfredo sauce is and had the exact dish so we know what it looks like. We agreed that we ate the food and will pay the price for the scampi dish they served us which is $2 cheaper than what we actually ordered. They refused to lower the bill so we left and paid without tipping. I've never had an experience quite like this where the manager will not even work with you. Not even an apology...we will never be back here again. You can judge for yourself if that looks like Alfredo to you. If you want straight seafood, this place might be alright, but the service we received was absolutely terrible.

This used to be one of our Favorite Seafood restaurants. Not anymore…read more Let me be very clear. The food has changed completely from the original recipes from the original owners. It's not the same quality or tastes. Let us go down memory lane here & revisit our last conversation, we had with you all there, last visits. You told us the story that the new owner was so dedicated to keeping the recipes the same, that they offered the one person a higher salary to stay on, because they were the ONLY person that knew how to make the original Clam Chowder, that everyone loved. You told us to our faces, my husband & I, that he was the only person that knew how to make the Clam chowder & you KNEW that you all had a LOYAL CUSTOMER BASE & FOLLOWING that loved your food & you were NEVER going to change the recipes. You told us you offered the man a bigger salary to stay on. You assured us the new owner wasn't going to change the recipes, just give the place "a makeover." We drove hours to get to Dan's on Saturday. We get there & there is a new sign out-front, its super cute, the building is painted very cute, looks like a super cute little Maine lobster shack in New England somewhere you would visit on Vacation. Now, the Local Florida vibes & charm, all gone. Asked for Tabasco & you don't even have any. In a southern Seafood Restaurant. Insanity. We order our usual Haddock sammy's, fries & Fried oyster app. The fried oysters batter is different, it's sweet. The two sauces on the side are different. Tastes like bottled Miracle whip & sweet cocktail sauce with no horseradish at all. Both sauces are HORRIBLE. The haddock batter is different. It's sweet & doesn't stick to the fish. (see photos) It's just falling apart all over the place b4 we could even attempt to eat them. Both our Sammy's a complete sweet mess, and not in a good way. The fries are some kind of GIANT hand cut fries that are undercooked. The bun, is a cheap bun like from walmart. No side of cole slaw nothing. I'm also not sure why your Haddock sandwiches and fries are $25 bucks each, double the price as "Gaby's" in Clearwater, Florida. I have posted many photos of their Haddock Sandwich's also, and not only are theirs half the price at $12.99, theirs are twice as big served on a cornmeal crusted bun WITH cole slaw. Math doesn't add up. Your haddock is overpriced and/or you cannot do simple math. OuiOui. Now that you have wrecked the food we will be eating The Haddock sammy's at Gaby's in Clearwater, Florida from now on. I have now taken you off all my Favorite restaurants lists & added "Dan's" to the "Worst food of our lives lists." Congratulations on your gentrification of what used to be one of our favorite seafood restaurants. You wrecked it, the food sucks. But, great paint job, it looks so cute. Will never return.

We traveled to Crystal River to hang with friends during my son's spring break. Our group of 8 was hosted by our beloved locals, Oma (grandma) and Opa (grandpa). Our table ordered everything from clam chowder and jambalaya to a burger to seafood alfredo and then me ordering the pick four platter because I literally wanted a taste of all of the seafood. Everything was fresh, piping hot and tasty. Crab cake, oysters, grouper and shrimp. Sooooo good! To top off our visit, Mr. Bunch himself, came from the kitchen to greet all of his guests. Whenever I return to the area, I will always check-in here. It feels like home. Cheers!

The inside was clean and cozy. There were 4 other tables occupied. Waitress greeted us quickly and gave us menus. We ordered . My hubby wanted the large serving of fried oysters, we had no problem with the market charge for the oysters . Food came out quickly but my husband said something about the amount of fried oysters. They were cut up and fried in very small pieces . They were the size of popcorn shrimp. Hubby ate them. My salad was great! Service was good. Couldn't ask for better. It was a disappointing visit for $45.00 before tip.

The outside isn't much to look at and I found the handicap parking and access a little strange. The parking spot isn't located near the wheelchair/handicap entrance. You have to walk further down the building to get in and that might prove difficult for disabled people who use a walker. One would think they would have thought this through a little better. Once inside however things improve for the better. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated with different decorations of marine life. The dining room we were seated in was large with a choice of tables and chairs or booths. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in by a hostess. Our waitress was Kayla who was efficient and sweet as can be. She took our drink and appetizer order as soon as we were ready. For drinks my husband and I ordered unsweetened ice tea with lemon slices. The tea was deliciously fresh. Their menu is a nice size with plenty of choices to choose from and not just seafood. Land lovers have some dishes to pick from. Our appetizer of choice was their Conch Fritters. They came out six in a serving, very warm and delicious with an accompanying sweet sauce. Loaded with conch meat - these were a treat! For our main dish we chose their AUCE shrimp meal and two sides. You can have your shrimp fried, grilled or blackened and can interchange with each serving. I started with the blackened shrimp. I was served a generous portion of the shrimp. Nice sized and piping hot they were delicious! They have squeeze bottles of cocktail sauce and tartare sauce that they bring you for the table. I found that I didn't need any sauce because the flavor was perfect. My choice of two sides were macaroni and cheese and collard greens. Both were very tasty. The macaroni and cheese had a spice that I believe was nutmeg. Not overpowering but just a hint to make you think - this is different but scrumptious. The macaroni was perfect and not mushy. The collard greens were also very good. Nicely flavored and went well with my meal. We were also served two nice sized hush puppies. Very nice flavored with a onion flavor. My next portion of shrimp was the grilled shrimp. Very good but not as flavorful as the blackened version but I still enjoyed them. I did use some cocktail sauce with these. And my last portion of shrimp was their fried shrimp. These were fantastic, I mean who doesn't love fried shrimp? These were my husband's favorite. All three versions of the shrimp were wonderful so it depends on your taste buds as to what you chose. You can't go wrong on any of them. The AUCE shrimp special is only on Mondays through Thurdays. They also have AUCE Flounder on those days too. We will definitely go back again and again!
