Okay we all dread the dentist. However I can truly say after 2 silver filling removals/changes with composite and a crown replacement Sierra dental I.e. Dr. Owens Made it as " painless " as possible. Love Chastity the hygienist who does a TON of things.. Hopefully practice recognizes. Dr Owens is quick, competent and truly delightful....I don't use that word lightly. If I could give zero stars, I would. As a new patient you expect some courtesy. The people running the front desk and the "Director of Operations" Gena Anderson, are truly people to avoid. I was not able to make an appointment due to their online forms alerting me that they do not take my insurance. That turned out to be a flaw in their system and when they texted me to confirm my appointment, I was surprised, and I assumed they saw this rejection on their end; apparently not. I gave them my insurance info over the phone and explained I got kicked out of the forms after entering insurance information (hence why the forms were incomplete). I was told all was well! Then the day of my appointment comes and again they text me to provide insurance information and urging me to get it done by 10 AM. I say, "are you joking"? Not even 10 minutes later, before I even have the chance to fill out their holy forms, I get a reply that tops the cake of passive aggressive, confrontational verbal vomit. Gena Anderson suggests that she can cancel my 2 PM appointment for me since they run such an efficient business model and maybe I don't align with that. FOR SURE! I have never been so eager to write a review - having had some (really) bad experience with DT Denver dentists.......... This place is amazing! From the very moment you enter, the receptionist - Jen - She is awesome - always so friendly and responsive! Dr Bryant Franz is top notch - I want to give more than 5 stars! He takes his time and is clearly very well educated and super competent (and passionate) in his field. The office is honest and upfront, at no time did I feel like I was being pressured for an upsell. They are a breath of fresh air! LOL Literally! I have 100% trust in the Dr and his staff - and I have never had that feeling with a dentist before. Bonus - You get to enjoy a pretty amazing view while you sit in the dental chair. Also I really liked and appreciated the little "gift bag". It's the little things that mean a lot. I can not recommend this office, staff and Doc - enough! So happy they moved into my neighborhood! UPDATE. AS OF 3/19/24 MY INSURANCE AND I HAVE STILL NOT BEEN REFUNDED. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST. OVERCHARGED AND TERRIBLE WORK. I went to get one of my veneer bridges redone as there was some greying from it popping out previously. (This was from a prior dentist). The first bridge was completely the wrong color. Okay, I will give them a pass that they ordered the wrong material. I got the color and lab from my old dentist so we could get this corrected. The next bridge was put in (Novocain etc) and the teeth did not match the other bridge at all. They were too long and a different shape. I also had a huge gap in my teeth. The dentist said he never should have installed this bridge without checking it first. He also informed me that they overcharged me by almost $2,000. I told them I was going out of town and would be back in early Feb. I also said numerous times that I would only have dental insurance until the end of the month. I went in for another cleaning and was told the new bridge was ready. When I asked to see it, the refused and I was then told the dentist would call me. A week later, nothing from them so I decided to call. I was told they would be refunding me and not giving me the new bridge. So now I have no insurance and uneven teeth. I recommend going to a dentist that can figure out a simple impression and color match. Maybe one that actually takes responsibility for his mistakes as well. read more

I don't normally write reviews, but thought that it would be important for the public to be aware. I have received care from Rino Dental for about the past 3 years but will most likely take my business elsewhere starting in 2024. I've been seeing Rino Dental more frequently this past season (Fall/Winter 2023) because I had a cavity that required a root canal. I initially had to address a pretty deep cavity earlier in the season, but because of ongoing pain in one particular tooth, the decision was made to pursue a root canal. They did a great job in getting me a timely appointment, answering all my questions (admittedly I have a TON because I'm just curious), and putting my nerves at ease. I had the first part of the root canal done mid-November and had scheduled the second part of the procedure for early December. There had been a gap/delay because I had a previously planned vacation to South East Asia. On a Wednesday or Thursday (though to recall the specific day because I was in Asia) before my appointment (scheduled for the following Monday), they had called to confirm my appointment on Monday stating that if I would not be able to confirm they would cancel my appointment to make room for someone on the waitlist. They had called again the following day stating that they would actually keep the appointment and just charge a no-show fee of $75. Well, unfortunately, because I was in Asia I was not able to get those text messages or phone calls (the automated system they use is through normal text messages that require phone data, rather than Apple Messages that can use/be transmitted through the internet). As you can probably tell where this is going, I had shown up on time to learn that my appointment was actually cancelled. Two rhetorical questions I pose from this experience to the community reading this: 1. What is the actual clinic policy? Is it an automatic cancellation or a $75 no show fee? Because I got two different messages with the most recent one being that it was the latter hence why I still showed up the day of 2. From my perspective, this experience really shows me that the clinic prioritizes money (which I totally get, it's a business). If I didn't show up, that's an empty slot they could've used to see a patient and bill their insurance. At the same time, it could also be seen as them demonstrating prioritizing patients (patients need to be seen and there are a finite number of clinic appointments...we can debate how to interpret how they handled the situation). Regardless, I've always shown up to my appointments and have no history of not showing up. Maybe they could've attempted to reach out to me via email if they had not heard from me via phone/email? The front desk person was extremely apologetic and helped me re-schedule the appointment, which I appreciate as it is difficult for me to get into typical 9-5 appointments because of my work schedule. read more

Legacy Endodontics, RINo Dental, Branin Center For Dentistry: I have included the extra payment requested by Legacy Endodontics but I would like to provide some feedback as well. This was overall the worst dental experience I have ever had. I went to three separate providers so only one part of the process relates to your services. I started by going to a new provider RINo Dental to have a general visit. The entire visit includes every x-ray possible an exam and no cleaning as they ran out of time. Scheduled a follow up but in the next two days I developed severe dental pain, brand new. When I called them to be seen they could not see me for over a week. Severe pain! So, I made an appointment at a second dental office Branin Center for Dentistry (several days later, but less than a week) and went online and amazingly got antibiotics ordered which thankfully which immediately (12 hours) resolved my pain. I went to dental office number two. When I called, I related my previous experience, asked if they could do my cleaning which was my priority which they assured me they could. This office was very nice; however, they again took every x-ray in the world despite my transfer of imaging. They then did an exam, (waiting in between) and made the recommendation I have a CT scan which would be out of pocket. I agreed and another image was taken indicating I needed a root canal. They referred me to Legacy Endodontics. Of course, with all the imaging and the waiting, they too ran out of time to do the cleaning. Next, I called to make an appointment at Legacy Endodontics. When I called, they were aware of the referral (I assumed records would be shared as it was approximately 0.2 miles away) and I confirmed they would have sufficient time to do the root canal in one hour. I arrived, waited at least twenty minutes, and was then told we needed to repeat the CT scan I had had days earlier. Again, at an out-of-pocket cost. The imaging, waiting and exam took the full hour. No root canal. They gave me an estimate of costs and offered an appointment. Unfortunately, I did not have my schedule, so I needed to call back the next day. When I called back the next available appointment was 10 days out. I returned at that time, had the root canal, paid my portion of the bill, and was told I needed to go back to Legacy Endodontics within 2 weeks to have the temporary filing removed and replaced. In the past I have always had the complete root canal performed at the endodontist office. The next day the pain was extreme. Now mind you I have had four children without any medication. I have a hi pain tolerance. With the previous experience I had with this process this was again an exacerbation of the infection which necessitated the root canal. I called the office and was told I should expect pain for up to two weeks. Really??? I again took antibiotics with immediate (12 hours) relief. I also called Branin Center for Dentistry for an appointment for completion of the root canal and a cleaning. I was told I could get an earlier appointment for the temporary filling but for both I needed to wait 3 weeks. I returned to Branin Dentistry for both, and my care was finally completed. In general, I had many unnecessary imaging full imaging at two facilities and two CT scans, really. No one seemed to understand disrupting an infection might call create a problem. Luckily, I was able to get relief from the very responsive, efficient, and inexpensive doc online. A dental infection could have resulted in not only pain but a more extensive infection. The staff was not responsive either time I called to report severe pain. This was at both RINo Dental and Legacy Endodontics. Branin, did tell me they would not charge me for the extra imaging if insurance did not pay and they honored that. Legacy Endodontics is charging me additional money because the insurance did not pay what they expected. read more

Because of COVID I had not been to the dentist for a year and was a bit concerned about the state of my teeth. At RiNo dental I had a great cleaning and they truly took the time to assess my needs. Completely incompetent front office and staff. Spent months consulting and preparing for a dental implant, only for them to refer me to another office at the last minute. I'm very happy that I didn't end up doing the work with this practice anyways. If you need serious cosmetic work like an implant, I'd recommend Denver Restorative Dentistry instead who were professional and did great work. Great dental practice. I have been going to this dentist for a few years and honestly really like the place! Normally a dentist's office visit isn't a relaxing experience, but this one is. The office environment is very calming, clean, and friendly. The X-ray machine is modern and there isn't any painful jabbing around in your mouth using outdated technology. I can relax while getting my teeth cleaned here, instead of being tense and uncomfortable! They are always on-time, and Dr. Franz is always nice and professional. I recently moved further outside Denver so tried a new dentist- and immediately regretted it! I switched back to Dr. Franz, even though it is now a 40 minute drive for me. read more

Had an old filling replaced here. Genuinely my biggest regret of last year. They let an intern/student type do the actual filling after the dentist did the drilling. I think it was literally her first day in the office? Young brunette woman whose name starts with an M. She rammed me in the head multiple times with her chair and body, yanked my head and jaw around, and gave me a filling so poor I eventually had to ask for another person to finish the work. I have honestly developed dentist anxiety as an adult for the first time in my life from the process. The tooth became extremely tender and sensitive to the point that I don't chew on that side now. The dentist told me that my tooth may have cracked from the work, and apparently I now need to visit a periodontist to get a crown. I don't have the money to get it fixed yet. We are living in the greatest time ever to be alive and can talk to people on the other side of the world, yet find time after time that medical professionals lack empathy and perspective of how it feels to be a patient, until TODAY. #iamapatient I recently moved from Houston to Denver like to so many other millennial transplants, and will be the first to say that I know I am not a perfect person with dental hygiene, and there are issues I can no longer ignore. 2 weeks ago BEFORE going to Rino Dental, I had overcome my fear of the dentist with the help of my wife and went to another dentist to give it a shot. Upon walking into the 90's style building that I dreaded as a child, I had the dental appointment of my nightmares, there was the outdated waiting room with magazines of months past, and no view of the outside world other than a window in the distance. I walk in, the receptionist doesn't care who I am, and just want to let me know that I am obligated to pay any bills, and insurance billing is a "complementary service", and then I see the dental hygienist, see the dentist, and before you know it she is telling me that I (health 28 year old) have the mouth of a 50 year man with the need for potentially 2-3 crowns, a potential root canal, a deep cleaning, 5 cavities, and I honestly felt my heart sink that I was going to be forced to deal with painful dental work, and a huge financial burden. Then at 2 AM when I was agonizing over whether the pain was my jaw, gums, or in my head, I stumbled up on the website of Rino Dental and Dr. Franz. It was irony, seeing Dr. Franz riding on a bike on the same sidewalks I walk down everyday, I felt my stress and mindset shift to a sense of calm. He seemed like such a personal person, who thrives on the confidence of his patients smiling on those same streets. Meeting him, he was even more personable. I finally worked up the nerve to call the office, and the receptionist / office manager picked up and actually treated me like a person, getting me an appointment within 48 hours. "Daniel, request you records and x-rays from the other dentist, and if we can't get them in time we will do them free of charge so we can focus on your care" Just having someone saying that was such a breath of fresh air, as I understood Rino Dental was not just dental work, but truly helping the patient overcame any fears they may have with the dentist, as well as putting together a treatment plan to help them in the short term and long term. Upon arriving, the waiting room is an art gallery that over looks downtown Denver, with a beautiful view of the mountains and all of Rino. Dr. Franz came out and met me which was refreshing, I have never had a dentist or doctor get me out of the waiting room, it is usually an assistant. The first thing he did with me was sit me down in a private room & we went my history. I was never rushed, he went through all of my x-rays, my dental history, everything, and really wanted to learn how he could help me the most. After going through my exam, Dr. Franz went over everything with me and takes the approach that he does not over recommend treatments, he only recommends treatments he feels are in the best interest of his patients. He found that I only needed one treatment ( a crown I already knew I needed) in comparison to the numerous others recommended by the other dentist, and went as far as to go through each tooth to discuss his thoughts to help give me peace of mind. Talk about a sight of relief ...... I never felt rushed, and felt that I had finally found a dentist who understood what it was like to be a patient. A dentist who acknowledge the flaws in the insurance payer system & even offers a self-insured policy that should be the model for all other dentists. I went in for a regular exam and teeth cleaning, which was fine. But they said they had found two cavities that I needed to come back and have filled. I had scheduled both cavities to be filled in the same day (which hasn't been a problem with other dentists before) but for the time they scheduled to fill two cavities they were only able to fill one, and it was a very painful and uncomfortable process unlike any other filling I have had. I still have all my wisdom teeth and I understand the tooth was deep, but I have literally had a cavity filled on one of my wisdom teeth and I was not pulled and tugged like I was during my visit at RiNo Dental. Because of that, I decided to see my previous dentist down in Boulder to get the second one filled (and thank god I did), because when I got in, they told me that they didn't even want to fill it because it was so small that it was going to cause more damage to my teeth (that have already had a lot of work on them) than the filling would fix. And the "cavity" that RiNo had ended up filling was even smaller than the one my Boulder dentist advised against! Do not go here for anything more than a teeth cleaning, and if they recommend that you need cavity fillings, go and get a second opinion. They are at best naive. read more

This weekend I had the unfortunate experience of chipping one of my two front teeth during a chaotic weekend. I both emailed and called RiNo Dental, knowing they were closed, just to inquire about an emergency fix. Not expecting to reach anyone, I did not leave a voice message and figured I'd call first thing Monday morning. Not two minutes later Dr. Franz called me back and scheduled to meet me at the office shortly after. Completely above and beyond anything I had expected! I wouldn't recommend. The receptionist girl Jenna was kind of rude when I had issues with my insurance on the phone. They took me back late. And they had a dog (which I love dogs) but doesn't seem sanitary to have animals in a dentist office. The girl that cleaned my teeth was great but the doctor spent two seconds looking in my mouth. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Franz and his staff. I have had some cumbersome dental issues and have needed to be seen several times. They are prompt to schedule an appointment and flexible with my requests. Dr. Franz answered all of my questions thoroughly, made me feel comfortable and made a follow up phone call to see how I was doing. I love this dentist! Truly the most helpful dentist office I've ever been to. We went through what was bothering me, and they came up with a plan for my teeth right there. Dr. Franz and his amazing team have been by far the most amazing, caring, and welcoming dentistry group I have ever gone to. As a child I had awful dental experiences causing fear and trauma. Thankfully here, those anxieties and fears where minimized and I was provided top care with zero-nothing pain. Dr. Franz will sit with you and break down any concerns and fears you may have as a person and a patient. His amazing team is transparent of your costs with your insurance plan. Amazing! The facility is a beautiful and a clean place. Love it! Oral hygienist Theresa cleaned my teeth and she was amazing and cheerful. Made the cleaning process fast and painless. Just yesterday I got an oral implant from an extracted molar I experienced 18 years ago. The surgeon was amazing and caring. I was reassured of the process, walked through it, and cared for and prepared for the procedure. I was given amazing and comprehensive post care and I didn't have pain during the procedure. Reassured of the processes, I appreciated the step by step procedure (because I asked and wanted to know) and was treated with care and respect. I loved them there! I have been to Rino Dental 3 times in the past month. 1st for a checkup (first one in 2 years), 2nd for a cleaning/filling, and the 3rd for a wisdom tooth removal. Each time was an amazing experience and that is obviously saying something considering you are at the dentist. The staff is so friendly, engaging, and to top it off...have a great sense of humor. Which is good and bad when you are trying to laugh and keep your mouth open wide enough to get a tooth yanked. :) The space is immaculate and completely the opposite of a typical medical office feel. Beautiful interior design coupled with aesthetically comfortable and cozy lighting. Complimentary tea and Perrier while you wait. The bathrooms provide female products (wink) and toothbrushes. Jen, who is usually at the front desk is a little firecracker and I always love seeing her when I visit. I found this spot based on my insurance and am so glad I did. The doctor called me the day after my fillings just to see if I was doing okay and not suffering from any discomfort or sensitivity. She even remembered the evening plans following the visit and asked me how they went. I HIGHLY recommend this place. It will change your concept of 'going to the dentist'. Street marking also makes for easy access. Stop by the Shake Shack a few blocks away, order a delicious shake, and start working on your next cavity! read more
