THEIR "REPAIR" RUINED MY SOFA UPHOLSTERY! DON'T GO HERE!…read more The upholstery on my sofa detaches and is machine washable. I tore it while putting it back on. I asked them sew a similar fabric on the UNDERSIDE to reinforce it and keep it from ripping more. Didn't need to be perfect, I knew the tear itself could not be sewn together but patching and stitching the underside could mitigate the damage. I came to pick it up and BOTH SIDES were covered in a fabric patch that's not even a close match! I was told that there wasn't a way to reinforce it from the underside so they just did both. Even if that were true (it's not), why did no one call me FIRST and tell me the work I requested and paid for wasn't possible? This is a very basic ask of a professional tailor, it's unbelievable they got it so wrong! This patch is so much worse than the original tear. The sofa was custom made in Japan and is a one of a kind piece. Pics of the tear and what they did to it. The pics of the denim repair is an example of what I asked them to do.

To a time when my only concern was figuring out how to get through the water temple in the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time with my older brother. It's the best video game of all time. I sent a picture of the game behind the glass to him and his only response was "NO WAY. WHERE." It took everything in my soul not to buy an N64 along with an Ocarina of Time cartridge for my place in NYC, but I had no space in my luggage to get it home. I was flooded with an even bigger wave of nostalgia as I saw a Gameboy SP and a v1 of the Nintendo DS. That was legit my childhood. Playing Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga on those devices was a huge portion of my youth. They simply don't make games like that anymore. I told my girlfriend when we move in together, I'm buying an N64 for our place. That is the only thing I am really putting my foot down on. Pop Vault, and vintage video game stores like it, just make me reflect on a younger version of myself. I honestly love that chunky little guy. He was so pure, so passionate. You can't teach that. I had expected my laptop to be out for repairs for at least two weeks, but Jack handled everything in less than a week, and even the original cost estimate was lower than previously discussed. They have everything broken down into categories with attendants who are quite helpful. Anything from paint to oil to cardboard to paper, plastic and normal refuse. All have different compactors or cages to place your disposables. If you spend more than 5 minutes there, ask for help and keep moving.

Their automated text system let me know my order was ready Thursday afternoon, but when I came in Friday at 1:45 a different employee informed me my shirt was not there yet, the truck still hadn't arrived that day but was due around 2. I popped back in a half hour later and she said she was still waiting on the truck but if I gave her my name she would call when my last item was ready. Not a problem. Got another automated text at 4:30 that my order was ready so I came back and walked in smiling. She said 'don't come in here cheesing, I told you I would call and I did twice without answer.' I laughed it off and let her know I didn't get any calls, to which she matter-of-factly read me back a phone number that was not mine. I said I was only back because I got a text, and since they are not open Saturday I needed the shirt before close. She did not apologize, rung me up, and I was on my way (while she got to work explaining to the other customer in line that their son's dress shirt was missing).
