Oh my gosh what a great little spot to have a cup of coffee in a peaceful environment. We are in town for just a couple of days camping in a nearby RV park and decided to walk into the historic district this morning. We are loving the cool morning temperatures for sure! We stumbled upon this little coffee shop which is very close to the Catholic Church so you could hear the services as well. They had quite the variety of coffees and I was excited to see that they had almond milk. They also had Cuban danishes so we tried one with guava and cheese and it was absolutely fantastic. We love sitting out on the little patio, we even had a dove watching over us. Service was excellent as well. $11.50 for all. read more

We travel to/from Texas/CA often. We always stop here for coffee after an overnight stay in the general area. I found this place after my first Yelp selection was closed due to a power outage. It has been the best experience since. Today we met the owner/operator, Claudia. She shared her personal story about how she came here to the U.S. her struggles to accomplish her dreams. What an amazing woman. What a beautiful spirit. Now, if you don't subscribe to the overall energy and hospitality of a place, and only care about the food/drinks, you're still going to love this place. The coffee is delicious. The coffee drinks are lovingly crafted. The food?!? Just like I remember, growing up in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood in San Diego. Portion sizes are perfect. Flavors are on par for traditional dishes. Whether you are staying at the casita to enjoy your meal and a drink, or waiting for a to-go order, browse the traditional trinkets from Mexico that are for sale. But most importantly, connect with the people that keep the doors open for all to enjoy. The hospitality is indicative of the heritage. I stumbled upon this little coffee shop while walking around downtown Mesilla. The interior looked super cute and featured art and jewelry for sale. It was nice to walk around while waiting for my order. I ended up ordering an iced mocha with oat milk. When I tried it I was honestly surprised by how good it was. Definitely the best mocha I've had in as long as I can remember. It wasn't overly sweet and you could tell the coffee was really high-quality. I savored every last sip of my drink. I tried their red tamales, and we ended up ordering another round and completely finishing all the red tamales they had left...that's how good they were! I will definitely come back here. Service was amazing. Food was delicious. Coffee was phenomenal. I can't recommend trying this place enough! read more

Las Cruces/Mesilla is our stop for our transcontinental drive. We stumbled upon this gem of a coffee shop and restaurant. The owner is such a beautiful soul. She took time to share her story, and some history of the building, as well as Mesilla itself, with us. We were lucky enough to stop in one morning while the fire was going. It was such a treat to be able to have coffee and breakfast in front of a real fire. read more

Rincon de Mesilla is housed in a charming mid-19th century building in Old Mesilla. There is only street parking. They do offer a nice outdoor patio. Originally the bistro was set up as a coffee shop but it now offers some food. I found Rincon de Mesilla a seat yourself kind of place. One woman was performing all the front of the house services. The service today was fine. I ordered their Navidad Tamale Plate. The rice was ok but the beans were hardly warm and not appetizing. The two tamales were dry and had little filling. The white cream sauce had very little chile but was pretty good taste wise. The homemade red sauce was not very good. I did not enjoy anything on this plate. I might also note that my water was hardly cool and it was served with no ice. I would rate this restaurant experience three stars. I doubt I will return. read more

Sweet place with seating inside and outside. Live music outside on certain days. Great assortment of authentic Mexican pastries and drinks. Due to the hot weather, we wanted to check-out the items they had on sale (a mix of local and Mexican artwork, tapestries, jewelry, household and kitchen accessories, glassware, etc.) as well as enjoy some live music and refreshing drinks. We tried the watermelon Fresca - delish!!! Service was amiable and helpful when we asked workers about certain products and when they would be in stock like their purse straps. ;-) read more

First time eating here aside from getting pastries in the past (which are superb). My wife and I tried brunch and enjoyed the food along with the really cute interior. Kind of an art gallery, coffee house, and now a restaurant. My wife had the Navidad Tamale Plate which is two pork tamales with red and green chile in cream sauce. The tamales are quite good, especially the masa. Both chiles were very solid but the green chile in cream sauce was very unusual. Not at all the 'typical' green chile found in most NM restaurants. The beans and rice were also very well done. I had an Asado Burrito (no sides) which is pork with orange peel in a lovely red chile salsa. The orange was subtle but very effective, the pork was super tender and very delicious. Service was very good considering only one wait staff and a lot of diners. Food came out quickly. I would return to try other dishes and do recommend this establishment. read more

We stumbled on this gem of an authentic Mexican restaurant while passing through Las Cruces. Amazing options, lovely indoor and outdoor seating and very friendly and attentive owner and wait staff. We also tried other recommended places, like La Posta, but will be coming back here for sure. The Pozole and tamales were soooo well done. read more

I was told about this cafe by a friend of mine, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is fantastic, with a lot of interesting rooms, decor and items for sale, and you can sit outside and people watch. But as an avid coffee lover, my favorite was the coffee!
