Love the section near the front door which features paperback/hard cover books and audiobooks for sale, most of them less than 2 bucks! Bought Patricia Cromwell and Amy Tan novels and discovered an excellent copy of the Day of the Trifids audiobook. My father-in-law also bought some books of his favorite authors. The place is nice and cool in the summer (the central a/c was heavenly) and they have a roaring fire in the gas fireplace in the winter. They also have a bank of computers for internet surfing and an adorable kids library. This is easily my favorite place in Show Low!

However, I can only give three stars because it's one of the noisiest libraries I've been in. The librarians hold conversations (not just about books) with patrons at full volume. Constantly. And patrons seem to take the cue as well--loud talking and laughing. We're grateful for the library but would have appreciated more quiet.

Apparently he was secretly disquised as a well-mannered Clark Kent. Ever so helpful, his kindness and informativeness sold me. Ugh. Drats! I'm a sucker for charm. How did he see through me? They did not have the book I was looking for in stock. But, the kind, very helpful, and studious-looking young man navigated his skills with ease and directed me to the law library downtown. I didn't even know we had a local public law library! I love information! I forgot the young man's name. I'll stick with Clark Kent, super hero librarian.

But it's still pretty and I've never seen any other library w a fish tank!

One of the first things I noticed was how spacious the library feels. Everything looked clean and well maintained, which made it a really comfortable place to settle in and focus. There was actually already a line of people waiting outside for the library to open at 1 PM on Sunday, which says a lot about how popular it is. One feature I thought was especially cool is their seed library, where you can pick up seeds to plant your own plants at home. They also offer the usual cultural passes, which is always a great perk with a library card. Speaking of that, I really liked how unique their library card designs are. I was able to sign up for a card today thanks to a very helpful staff member who made the process quick and easy. Inside, there were plenty of tables and outlets almost everywhere, which made it perfect for getting work done. There is also a free charging center where you can charge devices. Parking was also simple. I parked at the Scottsdale Civic Center Garage, which made access really convenient. Overall, I was very happy with my visit today and will definitely be coming back.
