Enjoyed visiting this branch. They have multiple fireplaces! You can also get a temporary library card if you're visiting. Big children's area, and adult area, small teen area. FYI they have their own parking, also the seed library is at their other branch.

I love this library! To be fully transparent I only visited the kids section and it was lovely. My kids could have spent all day. They did crafts, that were provided by the librarians, put on puppet shows and played in the toy kitchen, and pulled countless books off the shelves that we read by the fire. The beautiful floor to ceiling windows let you enjoy the trees outside. There is a teen section, that has age restrictions to give them proper space to lounge and study. There are children sized toilets in the kids section which is very helpful.

I've only been to this library once, but I found it to be a gem. For a first time visitor I found it safe and quiet with a patron-friendly layout. There were comfortable reading areas and computers throughout. The kids/teen section is in a separate, closed off area with a loft and fireplace!! My daughter spent several hours reading there. We came on a snowy day and I enjoyed the cabin-like interior and being able to read next to one of the two toasty fireplaces in the main area. We came midday on a Friday so our experience may have been atypical, but I wouldn't hesitate to come back if given the chance.

yo, this place is honestly pretty mid, I pulled up waiting for my Besty to pull up. Then I noticed that there's a tad bit of leaves in the grass is a bit patchy no cap but other than that it's a W Pl. I definitely recommend free to pull up.

When looking to kill some time indoors with the kids while the snow is dumping we always find ourselves at the public library. They have an amazing kids section with lots of great imaginative toys, touch screen computers with interactive games and of course great books. It's fun to let your kids pick out a book once a month and read it to them until they have memorized it. I love the quiet atmosphere and it gives me time to find some peace for myself. Also be sure to check for events as they often have readers come and read to the kids. The library always has an awesome place in my heart and I hope these never go away as we switch to digital.

Great amenities, accommodations, and student support, but you'll pay for them. While campus housing…read moreis priced at the national average, living in a dorm isn't naturally peaceful. If you value quiet, you'll probably be disappoineted. Studying and sleeping can be difficult due to dorm noise. It's hard to get into a university apartment because there is a waiting list and units are typically reserved for upperclassmen and persons with specific disabilities. It is very expensive to live off campus. Plus, you would be paying out of pocket and must commute to campus even when it is icy and snowing. Campus parking permits are expensive. Flagstaff is generally over priced. Despite this, I am happy that I attended NAU-Flagstaff. I lived on campus, paid campus tuition, but got special permission to take all my classes online so I could have an open work schedule. (I was paying off a car and credit card.) It is hard to get a job in Flagstaff due to the overwhelming number of students trying to find one in a mountain town. Flagstaff is technically a city but it feels like a town. I completed a major in Parks & Recreation Management. My emphasis was Human Health and I did study abroad with NAU in Costa Rica. I am happy that I attended NAU for both the program and location, which is what brought me to the university. (I had considered PA and FL, but want to live in the Wild West instead.) However, I don't know of a single person who likes Dr. Charles Hammersley. His teaching style is so-so and his assignments often didn't correspond to our reading material-- like our own textbooks. I have had discussions with other older adults whom also have had professional jobs prior to taking his courses. All of us were in agreement that he was frustrating. Worse, he is one of the rudest people I have ever met and not open to feedback. He has a pretty bad reputation campus-wide. His courses were difficult not because of the material but because he is a difficult person. I am bringing this up because, by all appearances, it doesn't seem that NAU has done anything about his behavior although the university averages about one formal complaint about him per week. (I am friends with a person in that office!) What makes this a hardship on students is that he teaches the upper level PRM courses; so, you can't avoid him. Altogether, this affects your life and your GPA, causing unnecessary stress in a major program about recreation, health, happiness, and personal growth. It's ironic. NOTE: If you want a job a the ski resort, you'll need 4WD to get there. Most "cool" jobs and PRM-related jobs will require you to commute 30-90 minutes from campus. I moved out of state for several paid internships that provided cheap or free housing in the form of bunk houses, trailers, and historical adobe cottages. I also rented bedrooms from locals loosely affiliated with my employers. I have also lived out of my Prius for seasonal jobs. (If you do this, I would suggest an SUV with tinted windows or stealth camper van because car camping is often illegal. Doing out of a Prius was super uncomfortable.) Of all the college programs in the world, the only ones that I would ever suggest be completed online (after freshman year) are ones in parks, recreation, tourism, sports management, and hospitality. That's because experience matters as much- if not more- than the degree. If your program is offered online, you can work and attend college at the same time. These degrees are not rocket science.

It was a breeze moving the girls in for sophomore year at NAU. Barcodes are sent through email to…read moreprint out and place on dashboard so that parents are able to park on campus without worrying about getting a ticket. Times are chosen by the student through the jack app so that move-in can be staggered. There are large Bins available to move items from the car to the dormitory. Some dorms do not have elevators, but the bins are still helpful because you're able to move items to the staircase. Doors are still locked for safety, which is a good thing. Use the jack app as a student for entry on your phone. There are always plenty of large dumpsters and extra dumpsters near the dorms during move-in and move out to easily dispose of trash and boxes.

It's quaint, unique, and feels like a hidden gem everyone secretly knows about. What makes it extra special are the handwritten staff reviews on select books. Like actual little love notes telling you why you need to read something. It's way more fun than just reading the synopsis and it feels personal, and thoughtful. They also sell, adorable book accessories, kids' toys, and other cute knick knacks. There's even a small sale section, reasonably priced books, and some signed copies that are clearly marked. It's right by downtown, so super convenient, but definitely try to get there early because parking garages and street spots can fill up fast on weekends. Overall, it's giving cozy, and I truly loved how much personality those handwritten reviews added. It just made the whole experience feel extra special and memorable.

I called in person to try and transfer from my old place to the new place. Doing this with other utility companies was quite easy and could be done online with no problems. City of Flagstaff on the other had, was a bit more cumbersome. I checked the website and wasn't quite sure so I decided to call. When I finally got a ahold of someone the clerk/person working the phone line was very curt and kept cutting me off by telling me, 'yOu nEEd to AcTIVate a NEw aCCounT!!!!' I even tried to get in a question about not having to pay start up fees since I have never missed a payment ever and always pay on time. More curtness from the person. So, a month and a half later it seems all is well, until I get a bill from them from my old place. I call and let them know that I activated a new account and the person over the phone was again, not very helpful nor understanding. 'We're sorry, but there is nothing we can do about it; we don't do transfers and you should talk to your old landlord to pay it. Sorry that the person was curt to you, but we can't do anything about it.' (They really emphasized that they couldn't do anything about it.) It's one thing if I was being a jerk about it or if I dropped the ball with other utility companies and had a history of being delinquent with my payments, but to be told it was my fault when people were rude and unhelpful is just plain frustrating. Especially at a time when money is tight and I live in Flagstaff AZ. City of Flagstaff needs to work on customer service and a more transparent way of transferring services/utilities in town.
