Racks of items
Kara M.

Upon pulling in, we saw clearance racks out in front of the store with lots of deals. We spotted t-shirts for $1-3 of mixed quality. Lake George can be chilly, but we spotted pool and water toys for sale. This is a great place to stop for Lake George souvenirs, most of the items here are fairly inexpensive. Very large t-shirt and sweatshirt selection. I did notice some of the sizing was funny and some items fit odd. Probably best to try items on before buying. Overall, this place definitely has a junk store vibe, but it's fun to browse.

Adirondack Live Edge - Reflective properties of the epoxy.

Adirondack Live Edge

Three years ago I purchased a 22" long engraved Lake George image on a 34" slab of spalted maple…read more Other pieces had a glossy finish that I preferred so I asked them to add the epoxy to my piece. They were concerned that it would bleed into the soft wood and I assured them I would still love it. It came out perfect. Over the years I've enjoyed the piece and the place I chose to hang it until one day back in January I decided I wanted a larger version. I emailed them a picture of the current piece asking them if they could do the same on a larger scale to take up the entire wall. After many weeks they found a 101" spalted oak slab and sent me images along with a detailed description of the wood's unique characteristics. We chose a 36" engraved lake image strategically placed at eye level once hung. I was sent digital images of how the final piece would look once engraved. 8 days following agreement to proceed, the piece arrived perfectly packaged in a very professional, custom made crate including custom cut styrofoam and wrap. It was super easy to extract the piece from the crate (just needed a screw driver to unscrew the screws). And when I did, I gasped with joy as it was so impressive looking laying protected in it's cushioned bed. I've decided to save the crate parts (2x4 wood, plywood, and styrofoam) for scrap projects at the house since the pieces are in perfect condition. They attached a french cleat hanger (very stylish and functional) with instructions on how to hang it. In less than 10 minutes I had it on my wall. WOW! I immediately sent them pictures with the message, "I could not have received a better representation of the vision I had in my mind when I embarked on this quest. It is perfect!" Adirondack Live Edge are professionals. They were attentive to details, continually communicated with me throughout the idea and design process, and went above and beyond in the successful creation of my piece. I highly recommend them for any of your live edge wood projects, big or small. Thanks again Justin and team. It is BEAUTIFUL!

Noa Noa

I had assumed, up until this point, that Noa Noa was some fabulous little independent clothes store…read moreunique to Ilkley. Sadly, having looked them up online I have discovered that they are in fact some kind of international fashion chain. This matters not, really, it would just feel nicer to have found a totally independent gem! Anyway. This shop is the business. My friend and I, on our delightful day out, cautiously approached the shop as we just knew we might be in danger of a spend. (I made that sound like some kind of toilet related pants accident, didn't I? - I made a *spend* in my wallet ... heh heh.) Nonetheless, we couldn't resist, so we went in armed with pauperdom. Oh. My. The clothes in here are just beautiful. The first item to hit me was this beautiful grey woolen long 'coat' (non-water proof makes a dubious coat to me). It had bright pink stitching, huge pockets, huge buttons - it was a iconic piece to have, a gem in anyone's wardrobe! Beautiful. As well as that they had the most gorgeous silk skirts, some of which had been hugely reduced in their lovely sale, and we came dangerously close to making a spend. They were sweet, daisy girl, slightly gathered and flared with a thick waist band which would hang beautifully between the waist and hips. Very flattering. Virtually everything in there was a potential purchase, certainly for my friend since everything was utterly her style, and so we were really pleased to have found the shop. The assistant was lovely too, not in any way trying to pressure us to buy, and joined in some friendly shoe related banter with us! Prices are certainly high end high street - dresses were around the £80 mark - but I would think worth it in terms of style and quality. For someone like me it'd be a one off buy, I am cheap (as you may know), but I know quality when I see it. A truly lovely shop - go and see!
