We came here looking for pasties, and we found them. I will vote their pasties as best crust in the U.P. They were almost out of pasties when we got there so i didn't get one with rutabaga in it. But the ones we got were top notch. read more

The pasties have changed the standard beef and potato are smaller with very little meat, mostly all potatoes

Stopped into town and came across Rigoni's bakery. This place was a great stop for something savory and sweet. You can take food to go or eat on sight. This bakery is known for their Patsies (hand pie). (1) Meat and potato patsy's (1) macadamia nut cookie (1) maple fritter = $11 (rounded up not including tip) We ordered at the front counter by a sweet Filipino lady. This place is great for all ages. Very casual setting. We left our phones in the car, so no photos were taken. read more

Holy cow these pasties are huge and delicious! Such a friendly team working behind the counter and turns out they ship nationwide so as an out-of-towner I am really looking forward to ordering some pasties for myself and friends and family for Christmas. They are that good and deserve to be eaten outside of Just the UP!!! Thanks guys!! read more

I'm so glad my aunt told me to stop at Rigoni's for some pasties to take home. I got 3 frozen (spicy breakfast, Cornish, traditional) and 1 hot traditional to eat on the road. That pasty brought me back to life after a long weekend camping at Pleasant Lake. I wish I'd gotten some of their cookies, which were huge, but I had pasty tunnel vision lol. Next time! read more

The blueberry bagels were excellent. The cookies seamed to be under baked. Not a fan

We did not try the pasties but we did get a cookie and this giant cream puff looking thing to go. It had a special name and I forgot what it's called. My son and I have made about 3 desserts out of it already. It's huge. The filling is a custard/whipped cream mix and fantastic! read more

Downtown Ironwood, MI- only real bakery and my favorite (real) pasty's!! Feels like home.

I have been ordering and enjoying Rigoni's pasties (regular and Cornish!) for years and they never disappoint, but this year we ordered the calzones to give them a try. I knew the calzones would be good, but I did not expect then to be so out of this world! We ordered the pepperoni, mushroom and sausage calzones and had them shipped to Michigan. The flavor, texture, size, and everything were perfect. The ingredients were super yummy and in the right proportions. Everything balanced. I also think the Rigoni secret weapon is the crust they use and make from scratch. They tasted how you want your calzone to taste, but rarely do. We really couldn't stop talking about them and about when we could order more. They are perfect for a quick and hearty meal because there is no prep....just take out of the freezer and bake per their directions. We often bake during the week when we're too busy to make something and want a satisfying meal without the hassle. If you like pasties and/or calzones, then don't hesitate to order online if you don't live nearby. I live in Michigan and found the product to be shipped very well on lots of icepacks and in an insulated enclosure to ensure they arrived safely and promptly. We cook the pasties and calzones from frozen. Follow the directions they send for cooking (thawed or frozen) and they will turn out perfectly! read more

Rigoni's Bakery - a motorcycle parked in front of the store - Bakeries Near Me - Ironwood, Michigan

Fantastic pastries, very pleasant help and you could feel the comfort level with all the locals there.

I'm a bit hesitant to start critiquing Upper Peninsula pasties on Yelp but I'm going to dive in headfirst -- prefacing my review with the following disclaimer: "The 'perfect pasty' is what a pasty eater prefers therefore MY reviews reflect MY taste." On to the review. . . Today I stopped at Rigoni's on the recommendation of a local resident. He said he prefers Rigoni's to other prominent local establishments because their traditional pasties don't have a lot of onions. I enjoyed my pasty from Rigoni's, but I'm afraid I don't agree with him regarding onions -- partly because I love onions and I use them liberally in my cooking -- and mostly because, to my taste, onions add flavor, sweetness and a bit of moisture to the pasty filling. The pasty pastry was fine but the seam roll was a bit small and the crimping was sloppy. I prefer a half inch thick rolled seam with basic yet decorative crimping from end to end. The balance of meat to potato was good. The potato was uniformly diced and cooked. The meat was finely ground, well seasoned and evenly distributed throughout the filling. I've had Rigoni's pasties frozen (then baked at home) and fresh from the bakery. Fresh from the bakery is definitely better. The pastry was flakier and the filling was appropriately moist. Baked at home the pastry was slightly gooey and the filling was a bit dry. That said, I'll be happy to take and bake a Rigoni's pasty any day and I think you will too. Looking ahead I'll be cooking several frozen UP pasties at the same time for a head to head comparison -- I'll update my review when I do. read more

You have to stop here. The pasties are amazing, granted it's the first pastie I've had so keep that in mind. The donuts are pretty fantastic (I'm a bit of a donut snob, Krispy Kreme is disgusting along with Hurt's donuts, I love a well executed donut). The service was fast and friendly, and the ambiance is that of an old school donut/food stop. We did not try any beverages so I can't comment. read more

Very good pasties. Great prices. Very good baked goods. Try the incredible creme puffs.

Came for the breakfast pasty stayed for the cinnamon roll. Extremely reasonable prices. We strive to shop local when we travel and this place was full of them which is always a good sign. Service was fast and wonderful. Wish we lived closer I would go every weekend. read more

Rigoni's has the best pasties in the area. The service is always friendly, and the baked goods are fresh and amazingly delicious. We don't get into town much anymore, maybe 1-2 times per year. Rigoni's is always the first, or one of the first stops. I will be passing through Ironwood on U.S. 2 in a few weeks. I will make a detour in to town just to stop in to Rigoni's for a couple fresh, and a couple frozen pasties. As with anything, the fresh version of their pasties is always going to be better, but the frozen option is still better than most in the area when you take them home to heat up later. We LOVE Rigoni's! read more

Second Time Ordering-SECOND TIME THEY ARE THAWED!! At the moment, I AM LIVID!!! This is the second time I've ordered a dozen pasties from Rigoni's and the second time they arrived THAWED OUT! Once again the box was falling apart, AND ONCE AGAIN THERE WAS NO DRY ICE PLACED IN THE BOX!!! When I ordered, I specifically told them NOT TO FORGET THE DRY ICE, because my last order was thawed. The first time it happened was kind of expected because it was in the summer time. After receiving a gift card from Rigoni's, I waited until winter weather has arrived. It has been in the 20's the last 4 days. I thought that even though they raised their prices ($5) for I assume delivery, that my pasties would arrive FROZEN! NOT THE CASE! I CANNOT RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO LIVES OUT OF STATE TO ORDER FROM RIGONI's. More pasties in the garbage. Guy Richard Maki Dryden, NY (607) 592-2430 read more

Rigonis made a delicious meal and a beautiful and tasty wedding cake that were prepared for our son and daughter in law's Wedding.  Everything was amazing-full of flavor and as promised more than enough for everyone.  They went above and beyond especially preparing everything on a Sunday even though they're not typically not open. We had many compliments from our guests on how tasty everything was. We would highly recommend their services to anyone!  Their pasties are also outstanding! read more

This bakery is such a little gem! The pasties were very full with meat and potatoes. Great crust. Not too dry or too greasy and yet you can still taste the crust. The potatoes are cubed and not reconstituted hash browns like some places are using up here. The flavor was definately our new favorite. We each had the most basic pasty for there were many varieties to chose from, which is a bonus! Now for the baked goods...we not only ate a pasty but had to have a little something sweet afterwards. Can you imagine a cinnamon-peanut butter sweet roll with a maple glaze on top??? Well, now you can enjoy one for yourself. Its a showstopper along with the sticky-ooey-gooey deliciousness of a Carmel pecan praline sweet roll...HEAVENLY! The Fritters are another family favorite. Don't be afraid when you hear maple glaze! Just go for it! They also come in vanilla glaze as well. We also got a Bavarian Cream with chocolate glaze, a raspberry jelly donut and a prune Danish!!!...:-)Now for the cookies! Yes, I said cookies! I got 12 cookies. Two of each. Mega Chocolate Chunk, Heath Bar, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, S'mores, Almond Joy and White Chocolate Chunk Macadamia Nut! Seriously! Each cookie, three-four inches across. Stop in relax and enjoy these ultimate delights. read more

Traveling thru the area and wanted to check out some bakeries. I had found some names of places online but I'm guessing some had closed up. Such was not the case with Rigoni's (thank goodness)! I got a pastry with icing and almonds. It. Was. Fantastic! I would go back in a heartbeat! read more

Oh my gosh so much YUMMY in this place! We were lucky to find Rigoni's bakery during our recent wedding in Ironwood Michigan. They catered breakfast for 95 people with breakfast pasties, muffins, danishes, donuts, and a fruit platter. All of our guests were so impressed with the quality for the food from this bakery. Breakfast pasties are the world's best hangover food and I wish they were available in the lower peninsula where we live.
