I can't say enough good things about Right Start Music. My 9 year old daughter looks forward to her lesson with Shannon each week. She can't wait to show her how much she has improved from the previous week. Shannon has, quite possibly, become her biggest motivation for wanting to learn to play at all. Dave was fantastic. I haven't met him in person but over the phone and via email my impression is that he wants your child to find the right fit for learning music. Even if it isn't through Right Start. I called and left messages with a number of local teachers I found on the internet. Peter is simply a fantastic piano teacher! He's enthusiastic and energetic, and also very patient. He encourages his students to select songs that they enjoy playing (Queen, Adele etc), so they have fun with both their lessons and practice. Having Peter come to our house is extremely convenient for us as parents, and he has been very flexible and works with our schedule as needed. I would highly recommend Peter! read more

We LOVE Right Start Music! My daughter's friend had been taking piano lessons from Jane and was very pleased so I asked for Jane's number. My daughter has been taking lessons with Jane at our house for several months now and we couldn't be happier. It was really important to me to find someone who understands that maintaining a love for music is much more important than strict discipline. Jay is a wonderful piano instructor. He has been teaching our 8 year old son to play keyboard and it has been awesome. My son looks forward to Jay's lessons and he is really learning a lot! If there ever was anyone who could teach piano to my feisty young boys, Peter is it! He lets them go with fun themes like Star Wars and King Fu Panda but then slips in classic theory, drills, scales and songs. He has so many fun tricks to help them learn. And his enthusiasm and energy are endless. They are developing skill and appreciation for music without realizing it. Dave who manages the schedules and financials is super responsive and flexible. We've been with Right Start for the last four months or so. My daughter gets private flute lessons to help with Band. The experience has been fantastic so far and I can't imagine that it won't stay that way. Signing up was very easy. I sent the owner, Dave, an email and then we emailed and spoke on the phone to design the tutoring that fit our needs. He put us in touch with a wonderful flute teacher, Melissa. Melissa is young, energetic, friendly, and flexible. She has a great personality and gets along very well with my daughter. My daughter finds Melissa's lessons valuable and extremely helpful as band teachers do not have personal time to spend with each student at school. For music students who want to excel in their musical areas, I would highly recommend Right Start. It's well worth the investment for this type of customized music lesson.
