Highlights of my lessons at drive smart: -Since I got the road test package, the instructor even helped navigate the various counters at the DPS (which is really helpful when you are stressed out about the upcoming road test) -had my lessons in a Mercedes -had the same car for the road test before coming to Drive smart, I did try another useless driving school in Irving, which I do not recommend at all due to various reasons that I do not want to get into here because this review is about Drive smart All the good reviews they have are true. My advice to anyone looking for a driving school is don't waste time and money trying out other driving schools. You can't go wrong with drive smart. I had done the at home NDT course and after completion I just wasn't sure that I had done enough. I decided to go for some reinforcement and One Way was a great way to go. Polite, professional, and so much better than DPS. Wow, I remember having to drive all the way to Nacadoches two times just to get William his permit. I live in Denton! Yet on only his second day, he was abruptly removed over a code-of-conduct matter from his previous school. He had no behavioral issues at Trivium and genuinely loved attending. Worse, his belongings were packed up in front of classmates, causing unnecessary humiliation and emotional distress. Despite repeatedly contacting Principal Chrissi Cawthon and Superintendent Sheryl Bradley and requesting documentation and investigation details, we received no meaningful explanation or accountability. This experience was unacceptable, and I would give this campus the absolute lowest rating possible.

It was BS & we ended up using my car. Then during the test, the guy insisted he told me to make a left turn instead of a u turn and failed me just to make an extra $50 on a re-test. I've been driving for years. He wasn't evaluating my driving skills, he was looking for a reason to fail me and make that extra 50 for a re-test. In all fairness, maybe it was the thick accent where the left turn / u turn confusion was.. Ultimately, he was waiting to fail me instead of evaluating my driving skills.

After my son completed his course, the school provided us with a sealed packet that was supposed to contain all required documents to obtain his driver's license. When we arrived at the DPS for his scheduled appointment, we were informed that a mandatory document -- the Certification of Completion -- was missing. Because of this oversight, my son was unable to receive his license, and we had to leave and return to the school. When we calmly and respectfully requested the missing document, the staff member responded with shocking hostility. He snatched the paperwork from my hands, repeatedly yelled "shut up" while I was attempting to explain the situation, and escalated the encounter by shouting "get out" instead of resolving the issue. He refused to provide the required document and refused to issue any refund. When my daughter returned shortly afterward to politely request the Certification of Completion, the same individual threw the documents at her and continued yelling "get out" and "shut up." This behavior was aggressive, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. I genuinely do not understand how this establishment maintains a 5-star rating. I previously posted a review describing this experience, and it was removed almost immediately after posting. I am writing this review again in hopes that others will see it and carefully reconsider before using this service. A driving school should demonstrate responsibility, organization, and professionalism -- especially when dealing with families and young drivers. Based on this experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend this business. Please research thoroughly and consider other options before enrolling here.

When my friend and I arrived in person to ask about pickup options (I live over 30 minutes away), he became visibly agitated. The moment I declined the $100 per pickup fee, he told us to "get out" repeatedly and threatened to call the cops. He also asked what country I was from, which I declined to answer. We were left to walk out in the rain and wait for an Uber. I have never experienced anything like this from a business. The 5-star rating made me trust this place. I'll let you decide what to make of that. All I know is what I experienced and I wouldn't want anyone else to walk into the same situation.
