My mother battled through cancer, not just in the hospital, but in rehabilitation facilities and at home, as well. When she got home, my father (and the only other person living with her) suffered an injury and was no longer able to live at home and help her. My siblings and I had to scramble to find an organization that could provide the kind of assistance that my mother needed, and we didn't have long to do it. Right At Home was recommended by a number of the social workers we spoke to so we reached out to their office. They sent a representative that same day to speak with my mother, assess her needs, hear what SHE specifically hoped for out of the arrangement, and chose employees that were likely to be the best fit. The day my mother came home, they were able to place someone in her apartment with her that same night! Unreal, and not a timeline we expected to be able to get. The people that came were some of the most compassionate, kind, friendly, engaging, and helpful people we have come across during this exceptionally difficult journey. The women assisted her with everything she needed, to include functions of life that would have been difficult for her children to assist with. They helped her with meals, moving about the space she lived in, and provided a companionship that my mother raved about until her final days. Their notes on her activities, medications, sleep schedule, health complaints, and so many other things were vital to knowing how to best care for her. The transitions from one caregiver to the next were always seamless, they were always on time, and had proven themselves to be as dependable as we needed them to be. The caregivers were with her until the very end and had so much obvious love and caring for her that was almost too much for me to watch. The last girl that sat with my mother, even knowing she had been unconscious for days while struggling to breathe, was so wonderful that she even spent hours, plural, literally singing to my mother while she laid in bed. When we asked her why she did it, she said that my mother could still hear and wanted her to know that someone was still by her side. My family and I can't say enough wonderful things about the women that came to support my mother. The way they conducted themselves, the way they lessened the burden on our family with a smile, the friendships my mother found though this process, the communication from the office staff, the way they went out of their way to ensure someone was always there (up to even sending someone from the office staff to be with her until they could get someone else there during an unforeseen staffing issue) ... it was wonderful to be able to trust that she was taken care of by people who truly cared about her. I have worked at RAH for about three years now and I am incredibly proud to be an RAH caregiver! The staff has been incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my time there! Personally I am such a strong believer of in-home care (as opposed to nursing home or assisted living) because I am able to provide individualized care to one client at a time. During the pandemic, the staff worked extra hard to make sure we had the PPE we needed. They consistently did the best they could to keep clients and caregivers safe! I can't say enough good things about Right at Home of Londonderry NH. I was employed there most of this year and was very sad to have to leave due to my own health issues. I fully intend to go back to work there as soon as my health improves The owners and staff are the most caring and helpful people. Both owners Daria and Maria directly coordinate care between the clients and caregivers. When COVID became the issue they provided the employees with PPE. They are always available to both employees and clients. I have to say we thought my mom was in great hands from the beginning in 2018 we did not disagree with the owners selling back in 2019 because it was to much for the couple. The new owners maria and Daria are partners did not come close to covering the questions or needs we had, Staff became unreliable, our nurse manager monique left the company for unknown reasons this made things even worse because the owners claim to be RNs but never once came to check in person on my mom. Staff in the office was unknown month to month new case manager. The care became bare minimal complains about the care givers went unheard, and every excuse was given. The fact that this company is listed as non-medical and i was promised a LNA Who come to find out after my mother's passing yes she passed none of the caregivers that they provided me where license nurses assistants and legally they couldn't practice as LNA anyways because right at home is a non skilled facility they are basically just companion simple plain Home Care my mother was in decent Health when I started with right at home when my mother was declining I was promised everything would be okay skilled professionals would come in they know what to do, they know how to deal with this and that. it was all lies I wouldn't recommend this company to anybody and I have to live with the fact of the disrespect and lack of care my mother was given until she died I am grateful that her last few weeks were not with right at home and they were in a facility where she actually got some type of real care. read more
