We had gone through a lot with my dad before he passed away and so we knew what we wanted and what we didn't. Unfortunately, the informal network we used for my dad didn't have women caregivers so we were back to to square one. After doing a lot of research with the local senior center and online we called For Papa's Sake, which is based out of the town next to where my mom lives. From the very first phone call I suspected we had gotten lucky. After a couple of calls and some group discussion between me, my mom and a For Papa's Sake senior person we decided we'd try them out. And am I glad we did. They listened to my mom's and my requests, likes, dislikes, deal-breakers etc. and they never batted an eye. They did say it might take a bit longer than usual (given our needs) to find the right care giver, but they called back in less than 5 days and we had a care giver within 10 days to 2 weeks of that 1st main discussion. That care giver has worked out so well. It has really improved our lives and I can go days without worrying about my mom...what a relief. That's what For Papa's Sake provides: relief! If you are looking for an alternative to a nursing home or aged care facility or whatever you want to call it, For Papa's Sake really cares and I would encourage you to give them a call. They have worked out great for us and I would not recommend them for something so important if they weren't doing a great job.

Then for the next 5 weeks a different nurse came out first twice a week and then once a week to change the dressing and just check up on things. All went well until the course of antibiotics was finished. The nurse was supposed to come and remove the PICC line on Wednesday (February 22nd). First there was a miscommunication between Lifecare and the doctor. The doctor's office claimed Lifecare was supposed to contact them to get the order to remove the PICC line; Lifecare claimed that the doctor was supposed to contact them. In whatever case, the doctor's office contacted Lifecare on Wednesday afternoon to authorize the removal of the PICC line. But now, Lifecare is unable to find a nurse to remove the PICC line and they have stopped communicating with me at all. I have no idea if or when I can get the PICC line removed and in the meantime I am breaking out from the tape keeping the PICC line in place.

Since 2010 when first diagnosed with the Movement Disorder of Parkinson's Disease, I've needed to participate in this level of intensive strengthening treatment at fourteen distinctly different centers. Quite genuinely, this Serenity Estates of Lincolnshire offers me the VERY BEST CIRCLE of CARE!

While working with absolutely no supplies, but that is normal for this facility because they are always out of everything. After my shift was finished i waited exactly 27hrs later to inquire about my shift. We'll HR was annoyed by the fact that I asked about the money that I worked extremely hard for because they have no staff so there work load is extremely hard. She decided to retaliate against me and rate me so low that not only I have to wait for my money but I lost my bonus which took money away from me and my family. FAMILIES BEWARE this facility is horrible they can't do accu-check because they don't have strips and half the time they don't have nurses for hours sometimes 1/2 the shift. So then the residents are mad and reporting the cna for the facilities neglect. The cnas are over worked because again no staff. I'm sure that I'm going to be DNR from the facility for telling the truth but I don't care because I'm now going to get legal representation for the retaliation of my money. I'm going to tell the truth if you're family is in this facility they are not ok. Management hids and lie to cover up for a lot thats going on. Trust they already know all about the situation. Management likes to play games and pretend that they are not aware and throw every one else under the bus so they don't have to be held responsible or accountable for anything. The nurses and the cnas work very hard but get blamed for everything even stuff they have absolutely no control of. Egos and poor management is what's all the beautiful on the outside facility go down. Management think they are better than the staff and treat them poorly. Instead of working together and being a team to build a great facility. Not mention the resident that got out the building and was missing for hrs and they were so short staff that they didn't know, but again another cover up. The bed sores the residents have are ridiculous because they don't have diapers, depends nor wipes ever
