Bought a $12K Wolf range from them 4 months ago. I live about an hour away from Moorhead, but Todd said no problem, they do a lot of business with out of towners. Within 3 weeks, I had a problem with the range, so I called their service dept to report issue. They said they would get me on their schedule, but only had one person for all out-state repairs, so would let me know when they could come. Guy came about 3 weeks later and said it was probably the control panel and replaced it. A couple weeks later, the same problem I had started happening again, only this time my oven completely quit working. I called Rigels service department again, and he took the info and said someone would get back with me on when they could get it fixed. I waited a couple days with no response so called again. This time, I spoke to the most condescending woman I have ever dealt with in my life. When I told her I was incredibly frustrated as they did not fix my oven and now the problem was worse as it was not working at all, she told me that I needed to just settle down, and implied it might not have been fixed correctly because I didn't give them enough information originally. She then said she would get a work order put together and send someone out when they could. I asked if she had any idea when that would be. She said maybe 3weeks, but told me I did NOT need to call them back as they would let ME know once they can send someone out. I ended up contacting Fergus Home and Hardware for my warranty repair. (Highly recommend them!! So professional and nice to deal with) and they had the problem diagnosed (bad relay board) and repaired in less than 2 weeks. It has been a month since I was told by Rigels I did not need to call them back and I still have not heard from them. Maybe if you live in Moorhead or Fargo, you will do okay dealing with them, but if you live outside the metro area, be advised if your appliance has any issues, Rigels does not seem to care about customer service. read more

If you leave Rigel's a message using the blue & white chat/text button on the lower right corner of their website, don't expect anyone to get back to you. I left a message on a Monday night and ended up calling them on Wednesday afternoon as nobody had gotten back to me. When I asked the gal if those messages are ever checked, it sounded like she had no idea what I was talking about. That left a bad taste in my mouth during these times when I would think companies would really want a customer's business. read more

Disappointed in Rigels. They sold my mother a defective product - would not make any kind of reasonable accommodation for her being handicapped and elderly to resolve the issue quickly. Took them 2 weeks to remedy it, and was told that it was the best they could do. No - sorry - that's not the best you can do. They had a replacement unit they could have easily swapped out for her sooner, but they refused to provide any kind of expedited service. I had to pay someone to do my mother's laundry while we waited for the replacement unit to arrive because she is not capable of dragging a laundry bag to and from a laundromat in her current state. In this day and age - customer service goes a million miles in setting yourself apart from the competition. Defective products happen, but defective customer service practices are 100% on Rigels. Sometimes you need to break protocol to take care of the customers who need to be taken care of. I prefer to work with companies that really do care about their customers and see them as more than just another sale. read more

Last winter we needed to purchase new appliances for our house. Todd at Rigels was a huge help! We were limited on fridge options due to the spacing (width) in our house and wanted the largest French door fridge that would fit. Todd found the two that would work and then walked us through our appliance package. We had no excessive delays due to product availability (thanks Todd) and we ended up with a double oven gas range (a long time want!) all at a reasonable price! Ever since we Moved to Fargo 50 years ago we've bought all our major appliances at Rigel's partially because their service and repair is so good. Recently, the control board on our GE range acted up. I called Rigel's and was surprised that the service call would be $160 and a replacement board (w/installation) could cost $400-$500 which would include the service call cost. Since the range was almost 20 years old, we bought a new one. Unfortunately, no trade-in was allowed. Our old range was in very good condition and I'm sure it will be repaired and resold as used. read more

Maytag, Whirlpool*, etc. They're all located here, and you can haggle with the sales people... although looking around they don't always engage you until they feel like you're almost ready to buy something. You might find it a bit limiting - it's literally only large appliances. Thanks for the update, Chris. I had called the HOM Furnishings store in Fargo, ND in June 2020. I purchased a leather recliner and was having issues with it. I wanted to have it repaired within the warranted timeline. Within a few months, a service representative came to my residence to troubleshoot my recliner. He told me he was going to order the parts to make the repair and call when he was coming back to make the repair. I called him yesterday and was told that he transferred to Wisconsin. I was told that had ordered the part and was asked if I hadn't received a call from someone. I replied that I hadn't received any calls regarding my recliner. We agreed that he would call his contact and that he would contact me later on this day. Since I never received a call, I tried to call the repair man the next morning and found that his phone was disconnected. I'm quite upset, as I paid over $1,600 for this chair, thinking that I was purchasing something reliable. As it was, I started having problems after having the chair for just after two years. read more

In August 2018 I wanted to surprise my wife with a professional gas range. This is much harder than it sounds since I know nothing about cooking. After soliciting my wife's help and working with Jason Tang at Rigels, we purchased a 30" Thermador. Awesome sales and service! In fact we liked Rigels so much, I also purchased my wife a new Speed Queen washer and dryer. read more

I would have rated our visit to Rigel's a 4 because once we got waited on, our salesman was knowledgeable. My low rating is because not one salesperson was wearing a mask. Most of the customers were. Not sure if we will return. read more

Poor customer service! I had them repair my dishwasher and was told it should be about $150. I received a bill for $225. When I called to ask the service manager, Bob, he was condescending and said that it was a fair price. The part was about $50 and the callout/labor made up the remainder. I told Bob that it only took the repairman about 10 minutes to replace the part (water intake valve) and Bob said that it is a complicated procedure and it took way longer than 10 minutes. I told Bob that I would pay the bill and be done with doing business at Rigels. read more

Had one of the worst service experiences ever when I had Rigel's "attempt" to repair my dishwasher. My dishwasher was displaying an error message. Service guy came out - very poor attitude - and said we needed a new pump. $200+ later...and 3 months later...the same problem kept occurring. Called them back and they sent out the same service guy. He scolded my wife saying the problem was we left small amounts of food on our plates and it was clogging the filter. He rinsed the filter under the sink and left 10 minutes later. 15 minutes after that, the dishwasher failed again with the same error message. I called back and it took them a couple days to call me back to try and set up a return visit. In the meantime, having lost some faith in their service abilities and my wife not wanting to have to deal with the technician again, I decided to do my own research on Google. Found a solution that involved no parts...just a loose component that needed to be re-situated. I know nothing about appliance repair, but I was able to do this in less then 5 minutes. Dishwasher hasn't failed since...and it's been 5 months. A month after the second "repair" visit, and I get a bill for $120. $5 of which was for parts/materials. Seriously, the gym took the filter out - which takes a minute - and washed it under our sink. What parts and materials could he have possibly used? The visit was 10 minutes, with half of that time spent scolding my wife. After receiving the bill, I sent a letter to the president/owner of the company explaining the situation and saying that though I understood we had to pay for the service call, I didn't think $120 was justified. I offered to pay half given the poor service, and the fact that likely the pump replacement done originally wasn't necessary (calling the manufacturer during this whole process, they confirmed the pump replacement likely wasn't necessary given the error message and how I fixed it). No response from the president. So I eventually just held my nose and paid the bill. Rigel's is one of those companies that's been in business for 70 years, but that experience has tarnished their approach to customers, rather than support it. They've gotten used to business just naturally coming in and now look at the customer as an adversary, not their lifeblood. Customers, to them, are something that must be endured. Essentially, I paid $300+ to fix my own dishwasher. I think that pretty much sums up my Rigel's experience. read more

Very disappointing service experience with Rigels. Called them to fix an Ice maker. Service person basically said "we only replace them, they aren't worth fixing". So $300 later I have a new ice maker....that works sporadically or not at all. Next service call, tells us the water line is frozen. This doesn't explain the spotty performance but the water line is thawed (with a hair dryer) and it supposedly starts working. 24 hours later, 12 ice cubes at best and once again it's not working. My advice is stay away. In my experience, they obviously don't care about their service business or their service customers. read more

The service counter is so accomodating! They were willing to drive extra distance to service an appliance for my grandmother who lives outside of their service area. I am so appreciative that there are still companies around like this who will go with extra mile- thank you, Rigel! read more

I was very disappointed this morning when the Rigel's appliance service technician did not show up to repair my Whirlpool icemaker. I purchased my refrigerator less than a year ago and the icemaker is not working properly. I called Whirlpool for service. Sat on the phone waiting to talk to an actual person for close to 45 minutes before I gave up and submitted a request online. I received the confirmation that Rigels would be out this morning between 9 and 10 AM. They did not show. Therefore, I called Rigels and talked to Jaimie. He said he saw the request, but did not have anyone available to service the icemaker. I made the request on Monday, received the confirmation on Monday, but no communication from either Whirlpool or Rigels until I called Wednesday morning around 10:15, the day of service to say they would need to reschedule. I took the day off from work to be available today, but both Rigels and Whirlpool obviously thought my time was not relevant. read more

I have purchased from Rigels twice in the past, and I will be in the market for New washer and dryer in the near future.I will go back because their staff is very knowledgeable, honest, and very accommodating for the entire process. They have earned my trust and my future business, I recommend these guys whenever I get the chance. read more

Not impressed at all. Bought a new house with appliances from Rigels. Had problems with my gas stove not working and tried to call on 2 different occasions and was told a technician would call back and no one ever did. When I finally called a 3rd time and said I never heard back they finally sent a repairman out. Then sent me a $212 bill and said I was too late because it was past my warranty. Horrible customer service! Have built 2 houses in 4 years and know where I WONT be going next time we need appliances for a new home. read more
