I was seen on September 17, 2026 for Thursday in the late morning by this Emergency Room Dr…read more Buckley who works for Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego,CA. First, Dr. Buckley's Nurse walked over to my bed and her name is Amanda. Amanda said she's going to take my Blood Pressure. Amanda said my Blood Pressure was kind of at a higher level because I am stressed out. Then Amanda dropped off some medical supplies on this metal table nearby my bed. Amanda said that Dr. Buckley will be walking over to treat my Huge Pus Filled Blister on my left arm. I said okay. Then after Dr. Buckley made his Emergency Room visits to a few other patients before me. Dr. Buckley walked over to my room one hour later. Dr. Buckley is an older man doctor who was very professional, caring and listened to my concerns about my medical condition. Dr. Buckley examined my left hand. My left hand and my left arm was very red and has inflammation on these areas. My left arm was very red and painful. I told Dr. Buckley this house that I am currently living in now has NO AIR Conditioning. This past humidity and very Hot weather conditions has caused my sensitive skin to break out in Allergies and in other serious skin conditions. Dr. Buckley said to me that I should ask the owner of this place to install an Air Conditioning System or buy a lot of Fans to cool down these Hot Weather Conditions. I agree with Dr. Buckley. Then Dr. Buckley said he is going to remove my whole Pus Filled Blister and take off the skin at the site. I saw Dr. Buckley remove the Pus inside my Blister . Dr. Buckley then put this fluid into this large tube with that Q-Tip. Dr. Buckley said this culture will be sent out to an outside Lab. The Test Results will come back in 5 days later. Their Charge Nurse will be calling me with the Test Results soon. Dr. Buckley diagnoses was I contracted Cellulitis. Then Dr. Buckley said I will need to wash the infected skin area with Dial Antibacterial Liquid Soap. Afterwords, I need to put on a new fresh Bandage. I should only change my Bandage once a day. I said sure no problem. Dr. Buckley told me the Redness and the burning sensation I am feeling at that area has been diagnosed as Cellulitis. The Registered Nurse gave me 5 Packets of Triple Antibiotics to put on my left arm and the inflammation . I also need to cover my wound with a sterile bandage once a day. I said I can do this procedure. Dr. Buckley said also he will write up an oral medication Prescription for this Antibiotic called Keflex. This Keflex Antibiotic needs to be taken ASAP. I need to follow the directions and take this prescription medication for a 7 days time period . Dr. Buckley told me that my Cellulitis Infection will feel much better my skin will be cleared up. Dr. Buckley gave me effective quality medical care. I spent about (2 hours) in the Emergency Room Bed. I saw the Registered Nurse send me important information messages in their Sharp App. Amanda the registered nurse also was printing out my Discharge Paperwork for me to follow their instructions. And to take to home with me to my house. I asked Amanda this nurse to please give me a Free Ride from their Uber Company. In order to drive me back to my house. It's only a 14 minute drive one way back to my Home. The price was $20.00. Amanda said that Sharp Memorial Hospital Management has stopped giving out FREE UBER RIDES to their patients. This is because their Sharp Memorial Hospital was to pay for every Uber Ride that is issued out to their patients. There was Nobody who lives in my house who could pick me up from this Sharp Memorial Hospital. Because none of these 4 people who are tenants , they don't own their own cars. I am the only person who has bought and I have owned my same Car for (31) years now. My car is operating in excellent condition. I was very disappointed that Amanda the nurse didn't give be me a FREE Uber Ride back to my house. Amanda said she can only issue me a FREE PRONTO BUS PASS . This FREE BUS PASS will still be Active for a two months period. It will expire on November 17, 2026. Their Security Guard his name is Howard he was very friendly and helpful. Amanda their RN told Howard to walk with me to the Bus Stop number 102 to pick me up at that location. Howard walked me over to the bus stop bench was two blocks away from their Sharp Memorial Hospital. Then I had to wait about (30 minutes) later for the MTS Bus Driver picked me up at this bus stop to take me home. I had to get off about 6 different Bus Stops before I was driven back to my destination towards my house that day.

Please be very careful at all Scripps Hospital's!! I used to be very proud to be a volunteer at this particular hospital many years ago. I used to love it so much! I don't know what has happened to this place. It has become very weird and creepy. This hospital used to be one of the good ones. Not anymore! I want to remind everyone that you DO NOT have to answer all the questions they ask you. They act like you do, but you DO NOT have to violate your HIPAA rights. They don't get to pick and choose what information they put down. I would say one thing and they would say something different and that's what was put down. Everyone ignored that I told them my home has black mold in the air ducts and I am medically forced to use the AC 24/7. If you're going there for heart, lung, or kidney stone problems, you don't need to discuss and reevaluate ALL of your entire health history. You should not be forced to and DO NOT need to convince them of what you are already diagnosed with and are dealing with. You should NOT have to deal with their nurses and doctors trying to push you into doing things that would or could hurt you just so they can test you. I'm an electric wheelchair user with many health problems one of which is a Neuro degenerative condition that is going to kill me soon, if I don't obtain proper treatment. I can still transfer, drive short distances, use a walker for a few steps at home only when I am able and if absolutely needed. Everything I do every single day hurts me tremendously and I pay for it dearly every day. I don't even take pain meds or meds in general. I deserve respect! Regardless of my mentioning this, they still tried to get me to walk to the bathroom with a walker instead of using my electric wheelchair which was right next to me. I am already suffering enough and scared, why would I hurt myself more in a very large spacious hospital, just to go to the bathroom when I have my electric wheelchair right next to me? Or I could pee in a bag? Why would ER staff be trying to figure out if I actually need my electric wheelchair or not, by trying to force me to hurt myself? VERY WEIRD AND CREEPY! Being forced to take a few steps at my small and properly set up home is not the same as being forced to walk an entire hospital section just to get to a toilet. They don't even know that I actually have a toilet right next to my bed at home, but they sure were trying to get me to hurt myself. As if I need to prove to them that I need what I already have in my possession. I was there for 3 critical situations that were going on. I was instructed by my cardiologist and by my urologist to go to the ER. My heart, my lungs, and urinary blockage due to kidney stones need help. I was forced to choose only one of my emergencies. Since when?! In the first part of my visit, I don't know if one of them was a doctor, I think she was and the other one was a nurse for sure, but both of them ganged up on me and lied about my left leg. They both lied straight to my face and in front of my son and my friend. It was dark in my room. I told her I had one varicose vein on the back of my left leg and they asked to see it. I showed it to them and they said there was nothing there. Which I know is a damn lie because I see it every day. Scripps is known for their doctors using their nurses to gang up on patients to convince their patient of lies. I am speaking from several experiences and witnessing it being done to others. I have pictures to prove that I'm not lying and that they are the liars. The last time I went to a Scripps Hospital it was in Encinitas. I had a doctor and a nurse gang up on me and arguing with me that Vicodin and hydrocodone are not the same thing. Which was obviously a damn lie! I'm allergic to Vicodin and any form of it, and they risked my life and my family by lying to me and forcing me to test what they were saying. Again using their emergency room patients as guinea pigs and forcing them to prove what they are saying is true. I needed pain meds and it was the only pain medication they would give me regardless of my telling them I was allergic to it. They almost got themselves a very serious lawsuit. Had I been a lesser person, my family would own that hospital. This is Part 1, To be continued in pics...

I explained to the ER doctor, my biggest concerns of traveling and her health declining. I felt very supported and heard when he agreed to run multiple tests to ensure that she would get the care she needed. After enduring all the tests, it was found that she was going to need surgery and I know it was because he took my concerns seriously and listened to them. She had the best surgical team and every person we encountered was kind patient and answered all of our questions. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. It did take a long time however, it makes sense cause we went to the ER. The ER is busy anywhere you go. Overall, our level of care was exceptional.

However, my recent experience at Kaiser Zion's Emergency Room has been extremely disappointing. I went to the ER because I had a horrible headache, a fever, and felt absolutely miserable. I have been to this facility several times in the past for kidney stones, but this visit was very different. I was charged over $900 for what appeared to be vital signs and a COVID test performed while I was still in the waiting room. I was later taken back to receive my results and was essentially told that I had COVID. I was not given any medication or provided with any meaningful follow-up care. Because this was an emergency room visit, I paid my $500 copay at the time of service. Imagine my surprise when I later received an additional bill for more than $400. I submitted a grievance because I have insurance and still have not received a clear, detailed explanation of the charges or the billing codes associated with this visit. My concern is not simply about the cost. It is about transparency, accountability, and understanding what I am being charged for. I should not have to worry that questioning an unexplained bill will negatively affect my credit score. There is seriously something wrong when a patient pays a substantial emergency room copay and then receives another bill without a clear explanation of the services being charged. As a healthcare worker, I believe patients deserve better communication and transparency regarding their medical bills. I have been with Kaiser for years, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, it has made me seriously reconsider whether I want to continue with Kaiser when it is time to choose my insurance for next year. I hope Kaiser takes these concerns seriously and provides patients with the billing transparency and accountability they deserve.

This puts the nurses and other staff at risk. What if there is a mental breakdown and the staff become endangered because understaffing? Security? What if security can't make it in time? Listen to your staff, because I have been in group homes in the past where the patients/clients overwhelmed the staff. This is a liability and if you don't want your staff to sue for injuries AFTER requesting for more staffing, add more staff. A lawsuit would cost you more money than staffing the damn psych ward. Before anyone says anything.... I am the one who noticed the staffing issue. I asked about it because I know for a fact it's unsafe.... And I was told by said staff that they have TRIED to request more staff. I was not asked to do this, I am doing this because I saw a real safety issue. Do better! This is my favorite hospital and I don't like leaving bad reviews.
