Grilled Cheese Sandwich. $5.39.
Frances D.

Sharp Memorial Hospital in the Cafeteria, First Floor. This is my first time dining inside this Cafeteria. Because I am visiting a woman friend of mine and I got hungry and I made the decision to eat in this Sharp Memorial Hospital. My order was one Grilled Cheese Sandwich, the price is $5.39. One order of the Potato Wedges. Price was $2.99. Then I ordered one (12 ounce size) of Turkey Rice Soup. The price was $3.69. My beverage was the one large size can of Bubbly Sparkling Water. The flavor is Lime. The price is $2.49. My dessert was the BON APPETIT , one large size Chocolate Chip Muffin. The price as $3.59. The subtotal was $18.20. The sales tax was $1.41. My total bill was $19.61. The cashier rang up my food items. The food prices on these Food Products are standard prices on their Soft Drinks, their packaged Green Salads, Pudding Parfaits, their packaged Tuna fish and Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches. Their Flavored Muffins like BON APPETIT Brand Chocolate Chip Muffins, Blueberry Muffins, Strawberry Cream Cheese Muffins, Banana Nut Muffins, and Chocolate Chocolate Fudge Muffins, the prices are $3.59 each. The Chocolate Chocolate Muffin I was eating today was HUGE and moist and tasted very yummy. The Grilled Cheese Sandwich was really tasty. And the Potato Wedges were crispy and delicious. I really enjoyed eating the Turkey and Rice Soup with the Zesta Saltine Crackers. I really enjoyed the food I have eaten for my lunch today.

Not a great experience. My husband went into this ER March 29 with shoulder pain. This was at 7am at the end of the docs shift. They did an x-ray and stated everything was fine, probably soft tissue problem. My husband at this point was in extremely painful. He never asks for pain killers but the pain was level 10 so he asked for pain management. The ER doctor refused. He went home and after multiple sleepless nights another doctor looked at the x-ray and stated the humorous was fracture right below the armpit. This doctor reccomended we talk to the original doctor from the ER. Mind you my husband has not been able to get any doctor to treat his arm. So we called the ER doctor and left a message. Never recieved a call back. We called today and spoke to charge nurse Sergio. Sergio was condescending the whole time, then stated it was the radiologist falt not the doctor the saw my husband. All we want is MRI of his arm and for him to be treated. You tell me if it's okay for this ER to release people with fractures without treatment or pain management. We asked to speak to management multiple times and they refuse. We might have to get an attorney if his arm gets worse or heals wrong.

Such an excellent hospital, with Doctor Malik, and nurses Cindy, and Margaret, to name but a few of this really caring hospital. Everyone is soooo nice to me. Plenty of movies. Cable TV and the fare are better than some of the restaurants I've been to, very modern. Every room is a private room. I arrived at the ER at 6 AM Sharp and was in my private room, every room here is a private room, at precisely 10AM. The food is better than many restaurants here in San Diego, with extensive selections and menus. I forgot my cell phone charger and they happily provided one for me. The staff is good, always polite, and courteous no matter who I speak to. They do everything fast, no wasting time waiting and waiting not here. They are expanding this already thoroughly modern hospital.

LUPITA disgraceful nurse, refuse to check on my wife, letting her temp rise above 100 and was ignoring my wife's calls many times. My wife ask to get her temps checked but was also refused by this nurse, she needs to get fired asap. She's no good to humanity

A few weeks ago I wasn't feeling well. Symptoms kept piling up on me. I tried all the obvious methods of self care and was not improving. I called a nurse, and told her all of my smptoms. She told me to come to the emergency room right away. I did. Finding parking in the dark with all the construction going on was tricky I passed the parking garage and had to turn around and go back to it. I had to go through a security check ointment which was fairly easy. The guard was friendly and helpful. He pointed me in the right direction to the desk. I was taken in right away, then diagnosed and admitted. Soon after that I was wheeled to my room, thus began several days of poking, prodding and testing. Everyone was nice friendly. The food service staff worked hard to serve me delisious nutritious meals. Many were rather small, but I was always given the opportunity to have snacks between meals. One favorite was the miso ginger glazed baked salmon. Another favorite was the pot roast. A lot of times they served me something diffrent than what I ordered. Not sure if they rainout or if my doctor ordered something diffrent. No complaints. The custodial staff made sure the room was clean. The doctors nurses, and assistants were all helpful attentive and friendly. They all worked together to keep me safe and comfortable and on the road to recovery.Thank you Sharps Memorial Hospital for all you did for me.

The amount of miscommunication we experienced during our stay was outstanding. I came into the hospital 2 days early to have my care coordinated due to a high risk pregnancy and we didn't see any specialists during that time despite asking/reminding nurses and doctors . We didn't speak with anyone about the delivery "game plan" until the morning of so it felt like my extra two day stay was completely unnecessary. Additionally, I experienced a post delivery emergency and was sent down to get an MRI and CT without a gown and with medical patches on and that seemed to greatly irritate the MRI tech. Whenever I had a question I was directed to a specialist (obgyn, neurologist, anesthesiologist, etc.) that would then direct me back to the person I originally asked the question to. And my final complaint is that all the lactation consultants gave me conflicting information. Overall my stay felt sloppy and uncoordinated. I didn't feel very confident about the care received and the billing that followed was equally as disorganized. In comparison to an earlier stay I had a sharp memorial, the experience was night and day. I would avoid UCSD if at all possible moving forward. Sharp care was very organized and much more professional.

With respect to the room, there are two people assigned per room. Not really much room for visitors. When we first arrived I was hesitant as it doesn't feel sterile (other than the main lobby and surgery center). It's definitely showing its age.
