This was our first experience renting an apartment in 40 years and were not impressed from the beginning. After signing the lease, the initial friendliness and attentiveness went way down. The two amenities that we chose this property for were the pool and fitness center. Well for a series of reasons, repair, electrical, health department, the pool was closed for 3-4 weeks. Management then closed the pool two weeks before the time mentioned on their website. Once for a period because the locked gates didn't operate properly. Instead of having a monitor at the pool they just closed it. This also happened with the fitness center. This January they closed it for painting. Well my wife runs inside during the winter as do many residents, so closing in January made no sense. Then it closed for stay home stay safe, which is a great thing. However, through these closures, the pool, the fitness center, there were numerous "snarky" e-mails from management and not one time did they offer a rental discount for any of the inconvenience.
Our lease ran through May 10th, however due to my wife losing a job during Covid-19 we were a little strapped. We then by order had to finish moving out by April 10th to our new home. We paid April rent but wanted to see if we could stop our lease at the end of April to avoid paying the ten days in May when we wouldn't be there. I e-mailed the apartment complex manager three times asking if we could end our lease at the end of April and not pay the ten days in May? We never received a response. It's not so much what the answer would be, it's just sad he never e-mailed a response.
For $1,700 a month for a two bedroom one car garage, we felt management was unprofessional in their e-mails, lack of response to three e-mails and never worked with tenants financially during amenity closures. We realized from our initial search we could have found much less expensive properties that would have treated us the same. We expected a little more from this complex. read more
