Horrible experience!!!! Miscellaneous charges, lack of training with maintenance, units often come with many issues that remain unsolved. They pay residents in gift cards to get 5 star reviews to make up for the money they take from college students. Truly deplorable. Whenever my roommates or I have had issues, they have responded with reasons for why they can't help. Next year, my roommates and I will be moving to another off campus apartment that does not take money and ignore their renters. read more

Throughout the last two years, my experience with Meadows Crossing has been fantastic. Not only is it a very cute and comfortable place to live, the service from all of their staff is fantastic. Each person I have met goes out of their way to make living here truly feel like home. I have gotten to know members of the leasing staff and the maintenance crew personally and can say that I greatly appreciate each and every one of them! Outside of these factors, meadows offers a variety of amenities that I have been very appreciative of throughout my time here. Whether it be the pool and hot tub, the study lounge, or the gym, each is available to all residents and makes living here just that much better! Additionally, new things have been added while I have been here, such as the package delivery room. This adds an element of convenience as well as security in knowing that your packages are stored safely until you can receive them. As a whole, Meadows Crossing creates a community and a home-like atmosphere for you to live in. Whether it is by meeting new neighbors, going to holiday parties, or taking advantage of the events the complex puts on (such as nacho fridays, summer pool parties, and resident appreciation days), living at Meadows guarantees that every experience here is a great one! read more

I lived here for a 12 month lease and had no issues while living here. I warn whoever decides to live here, however, that the front office will try everything they can to gouge money from its residents. I knew multiple people who were fined outrageous amounts for minuscule nuisances (up to $1700). Also, they do not disclose pertinent information to the residents that are moving out that will lead to charges against your security deposit that they most likely won't give back. Altogether, meadows crossing apartments leasing office will just try to wring you for as much money as they can get. Also, no designated guest parking is a huge con to living here. read more

It really is the place to be! Good location for GVSU students, and an even better staff. The people who work in the office are nice and helpful, and the maintenance crew provides quick and efficient service. Meadows is very community based which allows you to meet lots of new people. The student workers except for one young girl are very nice but when I was living there (12months) our neighbors threw parties all the time and I didn't complain until they threw rocks at my window and broke it so I asked for the window to be replaced only to find out I was charged $300 and when I asked for a reason they said their favorite go to line " sorry there is nothing we can do about it" overall not a terrible place to live if you have no other options... but just know they will do everything in their power to hike up fees and to take you're security deposit because they leave language in the lease that allows them to "make judgments" on the apartments appearance even though they leave the apartments in shitty condition. PS! Multiple times I had stuff stolen from our living room at G4 by the pool and when I asked for the police to get involved they said that they have no security cameras on the whole premise except for the security office so if you get stuff stolen it's up to you to figure it out...............they won't do anything. read more

The housing here is pretty good but I just think the employees here could be a little nicer and more considerate. I saw a few of the maintenance guys on the few visits i've been on here and they were very nice. But other than that some of the managers weren't as nice and didn't seem to be interested in being nice to her coworkers either. read more

The parking area is hardly ever plowed in the winter, the hot tub is always closed, and hot water for showers always runs out if another girl is in the shower or laundry is going (which is the most frustrating thing when living with 3 other girls). read more

I lived at Meadows for only a year but it was a great experience. The management and all of the staff is great, any maintenance request was completed as quick as possible and anything that broke in the fitness center or at the pool was immediately repaired or replaced. They care about their residents and want you to genuinely enjoy staying there. read more

Meadows Crossing, such a wonderful place to live! You get to meet everyone in the leasing office because you talk to someone new every time you call, and to make it even more convenient, they don't communicate with each other so you are found repeating yourself over and over while you bash your head into the table. Now, the layout for the house is extremely comfortable if you like living in a white, cardboard shack. They graciously provide you with a queen sized bed frame and a full sized mattress, so there's plenty of bed frame left to stub your toes, knees, feet, everything on! The walls are also paper thin, so you are never missing out on anything your neighbors are saying about you -- what a relief! As an added bonus, there is hardly no space in the refrigerator, so you don't have to do so much grocery shopping to fill it up. Between four people, you can fit an entire carton of milk and a whole pizza box. Wow. Better get used to sharing! Also, the dishwasher only takes about three cycles to get the dishes clean. Think about all the water you would be saving by hand washing every single dish in the house! Did I mention that meadows is environmentally friendly? The recreation in the complex is amazing as well. Meadows even provides you free internet. You have to buy a router of course, but the wifi is so horrible that you don't even need to spend the money on one! Living off the grid can be so grounding, especially if you are a college student who regularly checks the internet. There's also 24 hour maintenance, but make sure you keep at least $20 on you in case you forget your keys. Meadows also pays their employees remarkably well for opening locked doors. As for the free tanning, let me tell you, Meadows really supports skin cancer awareness because you can only make two appointments a week! What other apartment complex goes above and beyond the call for your health and well being? In conclusion, Meadows Crossing really is the place to be if you like forking over your hard earned cash to live in a flimsy waste of 90's inspired decor and enjoy the challenge of living in a dysfunctional space. read more

I am moving from Copper Beech into Meadows and the transition has been so smooth. Not only has the staff been incredibly helpful, they are also so kind! They know what they are doing and it makes it stress free compared to Copper Beech. I am so excited to live here! read more

Twice we've received contracts from Meadows which was double charging for the lease. They claim it will be corrected and both times sent a corrected contract with no form or attempt at an apology. My son is a student at GVSU and fortunately we both see the contract, otherwise they would have locked us in at the unfair double rate. Since this happened to us twice, I imagine they do this to several students to get them locked in at the incorrect rate. Please check your contracts closely. They hide it in with the deposit on the first month but if you look at the total lease commitment you will find the gross error. I noticed from other reviews several students have had bad experiences regarding payments made. Meadows claims they did not receive the payments. Keep all your records of payments and be sure to check any contracts closely. Looks like a company that takes advantage of vulnerable students and the youth of the GVSU community. read more

Meadows Crossing has the best off-campus student housing at GVSU! The amenities are amazing and the location can't be beat!

I was looking online for a nice affordable apartment , when I came across Meadows Crossing. I contacted them, and had got in right away. The apartments themselves are nice, but my biggest problem was the management. Trying to move out of that place was the most stressful, time consuming thing I've had to go through with any living situation. The communication between you and the management is absolutely awful. I would go weeks without hearing from them about my money, living situation, subleasers, etc! My experience there was fine until I had to leave. The staff are rude, unreliable, and uncaring. read more

I have lived at Meadows apartments for several years now, My roommates and I recently made the decision to leave them for good and we are quite excited about it. First off, if you are looking for apartments where there will always be several parties to hop around to Thursday through Saturday you may like these apartments. Also the location is great, you honestly can not get any closer to campus, it is quite convenient. Consumers and DTE is very cheap each money because of the apartments being high efficiency. During the summer the pool is a nice way to relax and having tanning and computers available is a luxury not found at another place. But unfortunately there are some negatives. The partying, if you do want to sleep during those days mentioned above, do not expect to sleep before 3AM. My car now has scratches covering the hood and side where it looks like some individuals with gems on their back pockets were sitting and leaning against my car. A neighbor had a flat tire from what looked like a smashed fifth in the parking lot. If you do decide to move to Meadows i advice using their printers, pool and rec center as much as possible, since you want your moneys worth. Every year there is a $220 community fee for the use of these items, so take advantage of them. My biggest warning though is to keep receipts of every payment you give, and make sure to always have a copy of your lease on hand. On 4 separate occasions Meadows has tried to tell me that I owe them money for rent and attempted to charge me fees for not paying (and this is just my experience, my roommates also had their own horror stories). My payments were always correct, yet it would take weeks of me talking to the office manager and the site manager to defend my case, and I had proof of my payments and a copy of my lease with me! I have also lost hope in receiving the $25 discount for paying my rent in two lump sums each year, since this company does not care about anything except trying to get as much money as they can from inexperienced college students. So make your decision wisely before signing with this company. read more

Meadows is ok at best. It s a decent place to live but for how much you pay ($449/month) it is not worth it. For how much you pay you should be allowed to do more of what you want. I say live elsewhere. Pros: -Large enough for 4 roommates (we had 4 rooms, and 4.5 baths) -Modern -Basketball/volleyball courts -Pool/hot tub -Tanning and fitness center -Clubhouse with pool table -Close to GV -Close to the bus stops -Party store -Maintenance calls were always done quickly (though my roommates and I had many issues throughout our lease) -Free cable/wifi/water/sewage -Nice furniture (though you need your own lamps) Cons: -It s hard to find parking right in front of my unit because other people (and their many guests) take the spots. -Bad insulation/thin walls-the place does not hold heat well and you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors are saying and it's very drafty -Sometimes maintenance would fix our appliances and other times they would just tell us we were using it wrong (dryer, dishwasher) -Snowplowing in the winter was not done well. The parking lot(s) were dangerous and I got my car stuck numerous times. -No pets and other inane regulations (no burning candles or hanging lights, etc.) -Bug problems in warmer months. -EXTREMELY strict landlords/management EXCEPT when it comes to important things like noise violations (parties every weekend and sometimes weekdays). They sent an email saying they would enforce noise violations but never did. They don t have real security either. One of my roommates had her car hit by a drunk party-goer that cost her $100+ in damages. The staff treats the tenants with little respect as well. I was called into a meeting and was told it was going to be one thing when they lied to me and it was actually about another. Their lease is poorly written and they will f-you over any chance they can get. I looked forward to living here but now I would not recommend it. I can not wait to move out. read more
