At 3:36 I decided to call him. He said yeah I cannot make it, not today and actually not for weeks. I said he should have let me know and he said nothing. I told him I would be making sure to review him and he called me a DICK and said go ahead and told me to F myself. So I DO not recommend this company at all. WOW!

Matt and his crew were far cheaper, efficient, hard working, thorough, communicative, fast and deserve all 5 stars from me. I even volunteer helped control car traffic for them as we live close to an intersection while they chopped down the nuisance Maple Tree. That tree should have never been planted had landscapers used common sense long ago in a new subdivision, and they made other poor judgment calls like placing cheap cedar hedges between front of homes that grow monstrous tall to spawn roof moss, excessive law shade, poor street visibility, etc. dah! I even gave their business card to a new renter 7 months later, as he too made inquiries to be shocked at high fees from others. Matt was contacted and they did the job in late summer 2022, and I kept my word in recommending them highly. Like Monica. B's review beforehand, we agree and our new neighbors too, great job Matt and crew. Kerwin Maude

They show up exactly on time and do a thorough job. They also love what they do. I would hire them again in an instant!

EXORBITANT PRICES -NON-TRANSPARENT…read more Be extremely careful in dealing with Davey Tree. Very duplicitous and non-transparent with its estimates and invoicing. Make sure you triple check and verify any discussion of any sort you have with their arborist or office personnel and then that it comes with emailed/written verification. Exorbitant prices. $1,285 00 (PLUS TAXES!!!) to lop off a foot or two from 20 feet of cedar hedges (8 trees in total). Arborist claims it was a difficult job. That's odd because his young worker was able to stand on my deck and do half of the trees without a ladder. Also, They showed up with two of their rigs with wood chippers. My job Didn't require two trucks. BUT, the customer pays for the cost of both of them! Arborist told us at the time of his onsite estimate that the customer also pays for the cost of the set up of the big chipper rig vehicle. THIS Isn't indicated on any invoice. Very disingenuous of Davey. The original estimate did not include the fee for fertilizing of the hedges. They make a second trip at a later date to do the fertilizer and you get another mystery invoice. You obviously pay for that extra trip. I saw the original estimate for $1,285 and assumed it was for a total of 45 feet of cedars and the fertilizing. I discussed this with the arborist when I first called him. Yes, I should have read the estimate more carefully. I complained about the $1,285 for 20 feet of cedar hedges, and a misunderstanding that there was another 25 feet to be done which wasn't.  (In retrospect, It would have cost me at least another 1285 bucks!). I thought $1,285 was reasonable to lop off a foot or two off of 45 feet of trees and fertilizing. But NOT for 20 feet only not including fertilizer. Rip off! Paying for Davey overhead. To smooth over my displeasure about the original miscommunication the arborist told me he would fertilize every tree on my 5500 square foot property for NO fee. To my surprise I just got an invoice for $351.75, for fertilizer. I was brushed off by the arborist when I called him as he directed me to the office manager. I was then told that I was given a deal of $351.75 for fertilizing EVERY tree/shrub on my 5500 square foot lot, instead of just the 20 feet of cedars. I should have demanded a new written verification of the costs. But why does such a massive company work in such a fly-by-night small time company manner by not giving proper documentation.

Vince from Arsenault Tree Service was recommended to me as the best and most ethical person in the business. I can completely agree with this! Vince came out, looked at my tree, gave his recommendation (we did a deep root fertilization as well) and on the day he and his team came to do the pruning, they were punctual, professional, discussed their approach before starting to work and the end result is beautiful! The tree is shaped much better, they took some weight off on one side and my yard was left spotless. Thank you so much guys, see you in a couple of years :)

All the debris and even leaves that were previously on the lawns were cleaned up. Their price may be slightly higher than competitors but they are fully insured and have WorksafeBC which others do not. Others would sue you, the homeowner, if they were injured without Worksafe insurance coverage. We found it pays to hire the best, their longevity in the business is a testament to their attention to detail and taking good care of their customers. Highly recommend this family base company.
