He had to call around looking for someone! Both times no one to greet you! Had to walk around to find someone! Went back. Shame on me! Same service but this time the owner acted as if she didnt care. she came out and said my therapist would be 30 minutes late! I stated that was I acceptable and this wasnt the first time! She replied ok! I said is there a manager she said i am! Istarted to tell her the problem and she said ok as if she didnt csre! Are you a well-coiffed menopausal woman who enjoys yoga? Well, I'm not either, but I think that Ridgely Retreat has one of the nicest studios in the area. As a 30-something, I am not in the majority age group, but that's just fine by me. Ridgely offers a range of classes in yoga, pilates, tai chi, and NIA. It's also a spa that offers massage, acupuncture, reflexology, and facials. You can also make appointments with the staff naturopath and nutritionist. The yoga studio is beautiful and open. With a cork floor, relaxing fountain, and views of the trees, you simply can't have a better yoga experience indoors. As a bonus, mats and props are available to use during class if you forget to bring yours (or don't have them). Additionally, the relaxation room (where you wait for treatments or can hang out before/after class) is well-appointed. My favorite instructors are Sue, Chris, and Sharon, though every class I've taken has been exceptional. Different membership options are available, though I opt for the 10-class card ($135/good for one year from date of purchase) since my attendance is usually sporadic because of the kids. Two minor issues: -I've had one massage here, and I thought it was just "fair." The treatment rooms are small and not as comfy/"escapist" as some other places I've been. -RR is no longer accepting credit cards. That sux. It's a rare day when I am rolling around with a c-note and change to pay for my yoga classes! As a plus, RR does accept SpaFinder gift certificates. Sometimes you can snag them at Costco (2 for $80), so that makes it an even better deal for the 10-class card. Namaste! read more

We just had a full body one hour massage and a 30 min. facial at Ridgely Retreat. First, the massage was excellent as the facility has a quiet room so when we arrived early we were shown into a zen room with Japanese massaging chairs. Great way to get the blood flowing. The massage was a deep tissue that worked on the kinks. The facial was good as it was relaxing , quiet and deep cleaning. read more

My wife is a regular here for yoga classes. We went to a ballroom dance class together. I recently started Yoga with Joanne aka Sunrise Yoga. Yoga is literally a stretch for me (ha!). I have very tight muscles and a bad back. Joanne has been very supportive and accommodating without--as near as I can tell--taking away from the experience of more advanced students. I don't really have anything to compare to. Joanne and the staff (and my wife!) have been great about my early steps into yoga. I can't say I am fully committed to yoga for the long term but Ridgely Retreat are making it as easy as can be. They could not be nicer or more pleasant. read more

This place is located in "The Village of West Annapolis" (read: across from the Navy Stadium off Rowe). It's a nice place with a decent parking lot as long as you don't get there during one of their many yoga classes. Even if you do, you should be able to get a spot on a nearby street. Massage,yoga, mediation, de-cluttering, nutrition, hypnosis acupuncture ... you name it, they have it. They even have a "holistic" chiropractor in there (Katheryn Alexander, DC) who doesn't crack your back or any of those other mean and nasty things that chiropractors are supposed to do. In fact, I got turned on to this place because of the chiropractor. Two friends had recommended her highly and my neck was killing me so I took a shot at it. This was my first time with a chiropractor and may, possibly, be my last. Dr. Alexander is good, I suppose, but my neck never really got much better. I didn't really have any expectations so I'm only slightly disappointed. The upside is that she was able to accept my insurance and the x-ray place she sent me to accepted it as well. So it wasn't like I dropped a ton of money..just the co-pay. Ridgely Retreat itself is nice and my guess is that the more you go to it and get to know the people the friendlier they become. 3 stars because it has a lot to offer and nice ambiance with a convenient location. read more

I came here last weekend for a facial, as I was in the market for a possible new destination for regular chemical peels and they were running a special for December. Getting here was a tiny bit of an adventure, I don't often travel in this area of Annapolis and the building is nestled in between other businesses, so I almost missed it. Parking wasn't favorable, as I had to park on the street since their lot was full. But I can forgive that for a quality face job. I was greeted immediately when I walked in by the woman who would be my aesthetician, Nancy. She was very friendly and a joy to converse with. I was immediately taken to a peaceful, dim room to fill out my paperwork, then I was off to the good part. Nancy evaluated my skin and use the products that best fit it, also including a glycolic peel at no extra cost and performed a wonderful lymph drainage massage as well. When I left, I felt fresh and renewed. I most certainly recommend this place for facials, and I'm sure their fitness classes and other services deliver the same quality as I recieved. read more

Be sure you know exactly what service you requested and the fee. Get the details in writing. I pre-paid for a mother's day package special that included a massage, facial, and mani-pedi. I made appt for facial and mani pedi. The service was great. However, when I checked out at front desk, I was told that I owed an additional $45. I replied that I had prepaid and everything was included. Their response was that the facial went over the time. Unfortunately, no one communicated to me that there would be an extra fee so that I could choose whether or not to continue. I paid the extra fee. I understand that time is money. I love Ridgely Retreat for the many services they provide and recently had a facial with Ceilie. It was very relaxing and because she uses premium products, it was really luxurious. It was part of a package that I'm glad I purchased because afterwards several people told me, unprompted, how good my skin looked. I had the most amazing experience here. I bought the groupon deal for a one hour brightening facial. Upon my arrival I met Jackie and she immediately connected with me. She was so friendly and full of energy. She gave me the best facial I have ever had!!! She explained ever step to me and continued to connect with me on a personal level during my treatment. All the products smelled amazing and the steam treatment was very relaxing. She left me alone to relax and enjoy the steam and when she returned gave me a mini massage of the neck, arms and hands. What a treat! My skin felt so soft and looked amazing when we finished. She recommend some great products to try around the concerns I have for my skin. I will be returning to see her for another amazing treatment as soon as I can. On my way out the lady at the front desk told me about the yoga classes offered and answered my questions. Amy** is also an amazing instructor with a voice that allows me to enter a spiritual place. Pierra teaches and gives massages which I am anxious to try, but I can't forget the people who pull the strings. Ally is great with their schedule and always knows what you need. OMG...I just had one of the most orgasmic experiences ever...ok so maybe at my age the bar on orgasmic is lower, but still...it was awesome. Let me explain: I bought a Living Social deal for a facial. My skin is so dry and flaky I could work for the circus next to the fat lady...oh wait I might be her too... Anyway, my life is so hectic lately that I was ticked that I had to go. It seemed like a complete waste of time. I'd been to facials before and it is generally an annoying session of getting your skin pulled up by a mini vacuum cleaner and then scrubbed with something akin to an SOS pad--lots of fun. And not too effective to boot. Let's just say that I went in with a less than thrilled attitude. But oh my my, this was not like any facial I've ever had... Denise started by having me take off my clothes, put a gown on and snuggle into a cozy blanket. Hmmm...not too shabby... Then after making sure I was comfy and seeing that I was a walking, raging skin condition, she proceeded to smear me with the loveliest lotions and potions and creams. Overall, I was disappointed in my first (and likely last) massage experience here. The massage therapist was generally pleasant and seemed to be skilled at the massage part. But she didn't do anything when the massage was over other than usher me to the front desk to pay--no, "How was that for you?" or "How are you feeling?" Then, the kicker: I went to pay with a credit card and was informed there would be a 3% fee. Seriously? It's 2017 and the charge was far more than $10.
