Recently moved into a new apartment in Kitchener and needed to make a copy of my house key. Simple enough, was on a walk and walked by and saw a lock and safe store, this is a service that is likely very common here. I go towards the front entrance and open the door. I kindly ask what the cost is to make a copy of a key. He asks if I have the key on me and I respond no I don't (as I was coming from a walk). He angrily yells "WELL HOW THE HELL CAN I TELL YOU IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE KEY. WHAT A STUPID QUESTION".......... I guess that's normal behaviour and customer service here? I immediately turned around and said thanks goodbye. What an insane experience. Would not recommend. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Will happily go elsewhere for a relatively simple ask.

I came home at 5 pm on Friday to find my key to the front door no longer worked. I began calling locksmiths at 8 am on a summer Saturday morning, and one of the Cote smiths (Ben) was first to respond. He arrived 15 minutes ahead of the time he had named, cured the problem in short order, addressed another pr.oblem with the same door while there, and charged a reasonable price. His good work turned a potential crisis into as pleasant experience as possible. I would recommend this firm highly.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!…read more I paid almost $1600 for locks from Chess Security (1729 Bayview Ave, Toronto) that needed to be ordered. 2.5 months later, I have not received the door locks nor can the store provide an ETA. The onus has been on me to inquire re: an ETA though the store committed to following up with me twice, but failed to follow through on its promise. On my most recent visit to the store, the locks had not arrived, and the store could not provide any more information. I asked for a refund and the store refused.

I had a tricky situation: my fob failed to be copied by 3 or 4 different places - they all told me…read morethe encryption was too advanced. I had initially only sent a photo to Fast Fob as well and while they weren't 100% sure they would be able to either, they were willing to give it a try. However, I had held off on it for a bit thinking it would be impossible and not wanting to waste my time with another copy attempt. A couple of weeks later, Fast Fobs reached out to me to let me know they had successfully copied a similar fob and were fairly confident that mine was doable as well. In fact, they were the only place to follow up with me at all. Really grateful they did because it ended up working! There were a few hiccups along the way (no fault of theirs) but they were more than willing to accommodate and ensure that my fobs worked 100%. Definitely recommend and will be my first choice for any copying in the future! The only thing that would have made it better would be if they made house calls.
