We took our 3 grandsons age 11-6 to build their own RC. They really enjoyed it & the guy (Shannon) that helped them was great!! They each built a Remote control car or truck. They each started a standard remote control vehicle, each had one item upgraded & a box garage to keep. The upgrades can really increase the overall cost. With what we did the total cost was $275.00. My 3 year old absolutely loved this experience. Alexis helped him build his monster truck fire truck and really let him have a part in the production of his truck. The cost of accessories can add up quickly, but he was able to get what he wanted for less than $60. It really is like a build a bear for cars. He has a build a bear but I see him getting way more enjoyment out of this. read more

Oh my goodness!!! Loved this place and the kids did too. Customize your personal car, build, provide details and extras of all sorts to the car of your choice. Upgrade to lift, leave low to ground and fun to do. Our sales person was awesome and the kids had a blast. Never been to one and was amazed at the store and who wouldn't want to have customized and best yet affordable car/truck! First time ever in Ridemakerz. Brought my 4 year grandson and he was blown away with building his own car. He absolutely loved being able to use the power tool to help build his tow truck. Shannen was so awesome in how he went step by step with him. He was so fun and entertaining that we all had smile on our faces the whole time we were there. Shady shady business!! Up front they tell you that the car will cost $15-$29 plus $25 to make it RC, plus any other upgrades like wheels, tires, lights, etc. What they don't tell you until after you're hooked in, is that you have to pay $28 extra for a rechargeable battery! My son chose a $29 body with RC and $8 upgraded tires. We were expecting to pay $62 but then they hit us with the battery cost and we were out $99 for a plastic RC car. I will say my son likes it and the speed is pretty good, but had I known it would cost almost $100 I never in a million years would've agreed to it. You people need to be more transparent with the costs. I will never recommend this place to anybody. read more

Horrible customer service. There products are extremely cheap and low quality. I called the store regarding a purchase I made last week in Anaheim since there Anaheim store shut down. They said they could not help me. I asked for a corporate number and said they don't have one. The rep on the phone was rude and not helpful. They did not offer any solution to my problem. Not even a response of "let me look into it" Don't buy there cheap cars. Go online to amazon or much less price and a much better quality. read more

Love, love, love this place! So thankful that someone told us about this place while we were on a family vacation in Branson, MO. Our son was in heaven. It's like build-a-bear but with RC cars. When you go though be prepared to spend some money. Base models were about $29. To make it into a monster truck was an additional $5. Tires are free for stock or you can upgrade. If you want to make it RC then it's additional $25. You can make it RC at a later time though too. Then there are additional accessories that you can buy to add to the car. The car even lights up and makes sounds. Super cool experience getting to build it on their own. He even got a "driver's license" and key. There are only three locations and I wish they would bring one to our home state. This would be a great birthday party idea! read more

My grandson was given a car by a friend and when we were on vacation and he saw this store he was so excited to go there. He took his car in and got more accessories and they were so kind to give him a cord he was missing and another piece that was broken. Shannen was the sales person who help us and he was so good with our grandson but also other kids that were in the store. He also got a new car and Shannen was so nice to help him with putting that together. It was a fun time and my grandson was so happy to be able to assemble his own car. So much fun for my 7yo and 4yo boys! Similar experience to Build-A-Bear, except for building toy cars. The boys loves picking out their model of car, putting it together, and adding accessories. The accessories do cost extra and range in price. If there is something you would like to add later (like the remote control hardware) you can order from their website and add it at home. Had so much fun building my son and daughter's remote control cars. Beth was especially fantastic as was the manager on duty- both had tremendous enthusiasm and energy even though we were there pretty late in the evening. Cool store along the lines of the Build-A-Bear concept. Pretty good selection of cars and trucks. Having some characters from 'Cars' was neat, my son ended up with the blacked-out Mater. I liked the ability to upgrade or add features at a later date, it makes for easy/cheaper birthday present ideas (lots of family live around us). It's not a cheap toy, prices start at $20 and escalate quickly with add-ons like remote control and monster-truck tires. Durability seems decent but I think they are geared more toward the 5+ crowd. My 3 yr old will probably need to stick with Tonkas as I don't think they are designed to drive off slides,kitchen tables, etc. read more

This is like build a bear but with cars. My son had so much fun. But be warned just like build a bear, ride makerz has accessories and those cost EXTRA, something a five year old doesn't seem to understand. A car made with just stock parts cost around 30.00, but when made remote controlled and all the little extras, it will cost closer to 100.00. So watch your kids closely. Lol and I really recommend getting batteries at Walmart. They charge 10.00 for 5 batteries. The staff is so amazing. They really do a nice job making it something special for the kids. Everyone was clapping and cheering for my little man after he completed building his car in 1:08 mins. It gets a little pricey after they pick every possible modification/accessory but I think it is more reasonable and cooler than building a Bear especially after or $10 off coupon. We had an excellent experience here today. It's like Build a Bear, only with cars. Kids first select the car body. The car bodies come "stock" with stock tires and rims. Kids can choose the stock options or they can upgrade. They can upgrade from street car to "monster" height. They can upgrade to make it an RC car. They can upgrade the tires, rims, sounds the car makes, etc. There's are lots of choices the kids can make as far as color choices for the tires and rims, light-up rims, and rims that spin. Once the child has selected all the basics, the employees then assist the kids in assembling the cars, including tightening the screws with an electric drill, at little work stations. Then the kids can choose even more accessories to personalize their cars. Everything is in resealable packages so the kids can try the parts on their cars to see what they like best. Mine chose light-up engines. The employees were wonderful with my two kids. My son is on the autism spectrum, and they were very patient and engaging with him. My eight year old daughter also chose to make a car (over Build a Bear across the street) and she also had a blast. The employees were very good about explaining things in such a way that it didn't seem like they were trying to talk the kids into buying upgrades. The toys seem like they are are high quality. I disagree with the reviewer who said go to Walmart. You would never get an experience like this at Walmart, and no way that you could personalize a toy like this one there. My daughter got a red sports car body on a monster truck chassis with "revving" sounds and a light up red engine, and my son got a Lightning McQueen body on a street car chassis with orange wheels, red spinner rims, Lightning's voice, a blue light up engine with matching blue remote controller. I also like that they have an online store, so we can buy accessories without driving to Branson. Overall, a great experience. read more
