Pokemon card

I went to this location, because I am a knife need and thought the neighbors bussiness sounded fun. It wasn't but when we went to this comic store we where greated by a friendly lady who sold us 2 packs of pokemon cards and a hotwheels car. After leaving we realized my son had a good pull and went back in. Where they gave us a slave and protector. Love the customer service...

Great selection of comics, cards, figures and local game/nerd culture artwork. Owner is engaging and fun to strike up a conversation with. Definitely don't miss the awesome comic book floor.

They have a good selection of comics (or at least I think, I'm not a big comic fan) and a decent choice of manga as well.

Great selection of back issues, few for current, not many toys…read more This shop has some of that "classic" comic shop feel. Tons of long boxes for back issues that are well organized and spread out on tables throughout the shop's sections. Having grown up with comic shops in the 80's, this was a bit of a throw back. None of the trendy, hipster appeal. Just good ol' comic stuff everywhere. If you're a bargain hunter, this place isn't bad. They had several $1 boxes to loot through. The other back issues are decently priced and you can buy full runs at reasonable costs. The owner has several CGC comics and a few rarities behind the counter. If you were looking for something graded, I would call ahead, as he did not have very many. Speaking of, the shop can ship your comics for CGC grading, and is a little cheaper than doing it from CGC's site. The owner is friendly, talkative, and informative. He was very polite to my wife (who is not a comic nerd and is very quick to judge a place on how they treat her and its appearance). Which leads me to the area, which I usually don't remark on. The store is completely by itself, but is just down the street from Commercial street. After a healthy shopping trip to the comic shop, I like to read my latest finds over lunch or supper. Commercial has a lot of great places to eat OR drop off my wife so I can get uninterrupted nerd time. The largest complaint is that the selection of current issues was extremely limited. I realize this is to keep down costs, but I like variety and often pick up 2-3 titles I don't usually read out of curiosity. There was a display of consul games, and I overheard a customer doing a trade in. Have no clue about the prices or selection. There is no table top gaming supplies nor places to play, so if you are gamer this store is not for you. I will say, this is probably one of the better subscription services I have seen. Signing up for a sub means you get 50% off the back issues (great for me since I like filling in my collection) and a savings stamp card. "Spend X and get Y discount" stamp card. The toys are scattered and sparse. A few current Star Wars, some POP, a few oddities, but that's about it. More of impulse buys than anything else. The store has a counter for MTG and other card games, but limited display. I'm not a card gamer, but I saw several customers buying cards there. The owner had binders of cards for them to riffle through, which I assume from the haggling, were more common cards. In short, a decent comic shop. Not strong in any one dimension, but very balanced across many. I go out of my way to go to this store (mostly as selection in my area is absolutely sparse). Avoid if you are a gamer, but for a comic buyer, this place is pretty good.

I have shopped in this place before. I talked to the owner on the occasions I went in there, and…read moregathered that he and I were about the same age, and we're into the same things. After bringing a few comic books to the counter, I tried to strike up a conversation with him. He became upset for no reason and I swear he started saying "Oh, everything I know is wrong huh? Well I know that Jesus is king, and this world is temporary." He kept mumbling while trimming comic book bags with some scissors, and when he would go to set them on the counter, he would slam them down. He started talking loudly again, and I swear he ranted about the state of the world, public schools, conspiracy theories, and all kinds of crazy things I don't even want to get into. And this went on for twenty minutes, occasionally broken up by him announcing that he was a former history teacher, and smarter than everyone else. After awhile my daughter tugged on my sleeve and said she wanted to leave. I tried asking the owner to complete my sale, and I swear he talked over me, as if we were arguing. I don't know what this man's deal was, but I highly suggest that if you want to buy comics, get them online. If you compare online prices to his, you'll see he is overcharging. Seriously, do your research before buying from this guy.
