If you are a rock hound, into memorabilia, like toys having to do with prehistoric animals, enjoy…read moreseeing fossils, or just into eclectic shops with a scientific flair, this is your place. My dinosaur-loving 12 year-old saw the shop from the road and we knew we had to check it out. Little did we know that the store is almost like a museum. For real, I would've paid honest American money just to enter and look around at the amazing specimens that they have. On display and purchase are fossilized anything, from raptor teeth to gorgeous jewelry made with the shell of an 11 million year old crustacean whose shell was replaced by pearlescent minerals that shift color as you look at the pendants; fascinating. They have 5-figure jaws from animals of the mesozoic era and massive geodes, down to five-dollar perfect pieces of smoky quartz. We couldn't leave without purchasing a $125 megalodon tooth. We thought that this was a steal as we were just in Hawaii at the beginning of summer where we saw chipped or only partial versions of the exact same tooth selling for twice as much. I'm not sure if we will wind up returning to Branson, but if we are ever here again, this place is on the list to come back to. Do you know you may also purchase most of their wares online, however you are missing something if you don't experience the store.

My partner and I love rocks, minerals and fossils, so when we saw this shop during our recent trip…read moreto Branson we were very excited to stop in. However, we had a truly unpleasant experience here and I decided I needed to say something about it. We were browsing around the shop and made some idle chit chat with the owner about visiting Branson. The owner asked us where we were visiting from. This is the following exchange: Me: We're from California. My Partner: San Francisco Area Shopkeeper: I'm sorry. My Partner: Don't be, we love it there. Shopkeeper: I hate California. (My partner and I exchange looks at this little tidbit of unsolicited judgement about our HOME.) Shopkeeper: I've only been to Los Angeles/Santa Monica area though. Me: LA is not representative of the entire state. You know California is essentially the size of the east coast from New York to Florida, right? Shopkeeper: well there ain't nothing there that makes me want to visit other places. Me: More California for me. Shopkeeper: Well you can have it. My Partner and I: ..... So at this point, My Partner and I are already half inclined to leave without buying the couple of things we had picked out. ... and then we turned a corner and saw a display cabinet chock full of World War II Germany paraphernalia and confederate items. So yeah, we left. Never in our lives, in all the places we have traveled, have we ever felt so completely unwelcome in a business establishment. Re: Business Owners response comment on the selling of Nazi and WW2 merchandise. Here's the thing about selling merchandise that is traitorous and racist in nature - even if YOU have completely pure intentions about remembering history, you can't control what other people's reasons are and so you are almost certainly selling these items to people who ARE in fact racist traitors. By providing it for sale you are enabling it. There's never any reason whatsoever to sell items like that. Period. Display them in a museum, fine. Displaying them in your home or place of business? Nah. That's co-signing it. Even if you don't mean it that way, that is how the racists and traitors will take it. As for "banter" there was no banter. There was you saying derogatory things about our home and us defending it while trying to delicately extract ourselves from the offensive conversation. We weren't laughing, even if you were. That you weren't paying attention enough to notice our discomfort is on you.
