Tall bookcases with a variety of commercially produced literature and items but also books and materials from local authors and artists---- I love that feature! This is a small nostalgic museum with neat little cafe. They have a few parking spots out front,…read morebut it can get a little tight. We decided to get a quick bite to eat in the cafe before exploring the museum. It is an 80s themed cafe with a full bar with seating, booths and tables. There is also a stage that has Alvin and the chipmunk statues on it. We got some of their pretzel bites and nachos. We also got some of their fun themed adult beverages to wash our apps down. The bartender/waited was awesome. He was very friendly and helpful. He had tons of personality. We then went over to the museum. I think the food in the restaurant and admission was a bit over priced, but it is Branson. The first floor of the museum has classic arcade games that are set to free play, so you can play them as much as you like without having to put in a quarter. There are also some photo ops with Simpsons, E.T., Maverick (Top Gun), Darth Vader, Indiana Jones, and the Terminator statues available. You will find the cashier, a couple of escape rooms and a gift shop (which did not have much) on this floor as well. On the way up the stairs you will come across a Bill and Ted mannequin and a pay phone, which I enjoyed showing my kids. On the second level, which is dimly illuminated, is where the fun happens. You will find more escape rooms up here, a small cosmic miniature golf course, and cool movie theater that plays 80s movies. They were playing Gremlins while I was there and they had Gremlin mannequins in the front row. I went through the hunted house and even though they did not have any live characters, and I knew what was coming, I still found the haunted house to be a bit scary. I may have flinch a bit walking through. The mini golf course glows and has an 80s music theme, with Michael Jackson and Guns and Roses mannequins. Everything except the escape rooms are included with admissions. You will find a bunch of 80s memorabilia around the museum like cabbage path dolls, troll dolls, critters, and a prince guitar. There are also placards throughout the museum that provide information on some of those exhibits. I liked this place. and most people that grew up in the 80s will go through here and reminisce about their childhood. The museum does have a lot crammed into it little space and spills out into the parking lot with a Top Gun jet and a Robo Cop police car. I recommend checking this place out, and suggest you search spots like Groupon to save you a few bucks. They do offer a military discount.

They have an extensive Christian fiction section, a well-stocked children's area, and various beautiful home decor items. It's a quiet and comfortable shop with areas to relax and read. The owners even provide a journal where you can request to be added to their prayers. The shop is also loaded with many accessories like pens, Bible covers, books of the Bible tabs, journals, etc. Make the Fig Tree a stop at every Branson visit.

The inside of the store is small and has copper pennies incorporated into objects/jewelry, crystals, and other small gifts. I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with a friendly employee named Missy. She told us about why the store was named The Copper Coin, and a little bit about the owner. Her life story was inspiring and hopeful! I bought two angel Christmas ornaments, Susan's biography, and a small crystal.

Downstairs in the Taneyhills Library is the Friends of the Library Bookstore. This review is about…read morethe bookstore, not the library. For decades, I have only been buying my books at the Friends of the Library bookstores around the country. The money goes to support the library. The community donates their books, most of them brand new and hardbound. This is the BEST Friends Bookstore I have ever seen. I come to Branson several times a year, and I load up on books. I buy bags and bags of them here. It is an enormous room full of bookshelves. They are well organized and categorized for easy perusal. Nowhere on earth can you beat these prices!

Ugh, I just got done running home to get a utility bill to show to renew my library card. I've had…read morea library card here for 5 years. First when it was a private library and I donated money for an annual card and now the second year since it has become a public library. I voted YES to it becoming public because I grew up appreciating having access to a library. Now, seeing how elderly the population is here, I hope more and more benefits will be developed for them through this community library. Short version to my mediocre star rating is based on the inefficiency of the one website that the staff can utilize to confirm residency, its ineffectual. As a resident of 5 years and a tax payer for 5 years, I could not be found. I sympathize with people further out of town, the elderly, new commers, and previous or on-going library patrons having to prove who they are past showing their drivers license. The information my paper file they hold has the exact same information that appears on my drivers license! I'm an election judge in Taney county, and the legal residence in the United States are allowed to vote legally easier than trying to obtain a library card here. I receive surveys to better this library and diligently fill them out. I hope this note goes towards addressing this issue. The library staff deserves better tools to assist guests to this library.
