I am not a novice at yoga but I'm not a girl who can do handstands and such either. I took the class so I could learn more about the proper set up for poses I've been doing for years. I've also had an injury recently and figured I'd just start at the beginning. Let me start by saying ;The instructor Katie was a fantastic teacher. She masterfully broke poses and movements of sun salutations for us. She showed us the "common mistakes" and I felt I learned a lot from her. The studio was clean comfortable and cozy. Geez... maybe…read moreI should keep this place all to myself ;) Blue Moon Yoga is right next door to the amazing Blue Moon Evolution restaurant on Clifford Street in downtown Exeter, NH. They offer wonderful classes as well as 1/2 day "retreats." Their style is less intense than many other studios and focuses quite a bit on meditation and breathwork. Their instructions are all lovely and friendly and their studio is extremely clean and provides everything you need, should you not have your own supplies. If you are looking for an intense hot yoga workout, this isn't the place for you; but if you are looking to unwind, go to Blue Moon, have some tea, have a stress-free practice and meditate. However, not a lot of instructors really put enjoyment INTO my practice. And, not a lot of studios feel welcome. As an instructor myself, I enjoy learning from all different teachers in a variety of styles. I happened to be pleasantly surprised when on a whim, I decided to take a class on the fourth of July. It was a vinyasa flow class, and I generally don't take a lot of vinyasa flow classes because my experiences are that many instructors throw in a lot of sun salutes, make you do the same sequence of poses, and you never really hold poses long enough to let yourself find a comfortable edge. Without writing a book about the class, I'll say that Katy did a great job of creating a flow that did not rush, let us stick around long enough to make adjustments, but it never took away from the adhesiveness of the class. Every pose and sequence had a purpose. Every correction and all commentary was appropriate and never long-winded. I then went the next morning when beach yoga got rained out, and loved it just as much. I'm making a move to Cape Ann next fall and can't wait to make this my regular home! p.s. I REALLY love 90 minute classes and I hope they continue to offer them :)

The studio was easy to find, the woman at the check-in desk was efficient and friendly at getting us signed up, and she even let us borrow two yoga mats for free which was much appreciated as we were traveling without our usual personal mats. The studio upstairs was quite hot (unintentionally, I believe) but Alli kept everyone motivated and present despite the heat. The studio is sizable and pretty with lots of assistive props to borrow. Alli's flow was really dynamic and challenging. I also am a yoga teacher, and I found myself enjoying her class a lot! Would definitely come back if we are in the area again!

Run, don't walk to 3 bridges…read more After a few months of trying to find the "right" yoga studio in Portsmouth, I happened upon 3 Bridges. Practice is great, definitely a work out, but incredibly relaxing. Energy and light in space are amazing. No attitude, no unrealistic expectations. If instructor knows you are a beginner, they guide their instructions accordingly. Space is pristine, light, They have plenty of mats, towels, straps and blocks - also there's a fair amount of free parking which is a huge plus downtown. All instructors are great. Each bringing something different to a class. That's what keeps it interesting. You never know how things will start or what focus will be. Love this place. Separately, they also have lots of great value deals - like buy blank number of classes for blank number of $$$. I think I'm only paying $8.00 a class, which is half of what I'd pay in Boston.
