You order food on the left and get ice cream samples on the right. You can get ice cream samples upon request. The building is small and quaint. Still needs some repairs and cleaning in some areas, but not bad for the most part. Restroom is a one person room. Very small and also needs some repairs, but it wasn't bad. The building is kinda touristy and fun with the coloring and style. I'd love to see them swap out some of the small booths for more tables. They're much easier and more comfortable for larger people like myself to sit in. Now on to the food. Everything except maybe the hotdogs were frozen and just warmed up, but we expected that. The crinkle cut fries were cooked perfectly. They made my husband a cherry Coke and he said it was delicious, addictively so. The owner made it with Coke and maraschino, cherry juice, so I'm sure it' was good. I probably should've had a taste before he finished it. Our hotdogs and burgers were all overcooked quite a bit. The burger had no seasoning that I could taste. The hotdog I ordered had chili, cheese, onions, and jalapeños. They forgot my onions and jalapeños, but brought them after we reminded them. They also forgot my son's cheese on his fries and his side of ranch, but brought them after being reminded. The owner even made a comment when we placed our order that we might have to remind them to bring certain things out. He made it seem like the Cook doesn't remember to read the entire ticket when she's preparing the orders. The owner and his granddaughter, and occasionally the Cook, kept getting into little arguments about where things were and who should be doing what. It was really awkward and noticeable since it was so quiet in the restaurant, even with the music playing in the background, and some of the arguments were directly in front of us. There are definitely still some kinks to be worked out here. All in all, I don't know that we would seek this place out to intentionally eat here, but it's good in a pinch, if you're already in the area.

The husband said his strawberry malt was the best he's ever had & that's saying something. I got cookies & cream scoop on a cake cone. Prices were great too. Highly recommend!

For the ambiance and atmosphere I would definitely rate it higher because it's definitely neat. However not much about our experience was good. The staff is friendly, but they were rather inattentive. We got seated right away and that was kinda the highlight. It took forever to get our order taken. Once we got it taken it was probably 30 minutes before we got the water we asked for. And I had to ask for that. The lady was very nice about it and apologized...I was hoping it would get better and we decided to maintain a good attitude throughout the experience. We ordered the BBQ combo platter. Two meats, two sides, and a slice of homemade bread. We went with brisket, pulled pork, beans, and coleslaw and shared it. The bread was the highlight of the meal...it was honestly really good. BBQ Beans were second. The coleslaw was nothing special but better than the meat. I'm confident the meat was refrigerated and "reheated" to serve it. The brisket was tough. In all fairness it had a decent flavor, but it wasn't hot nor was it tender. The pulled pork was literally ice cold in the center and didn't have much flavor. All in, it took over an hour to get our food. I think this place was probably a grand slam back in the day, but now it's just not good. We won't go back and I hate even saying that since the folks working seemed so nice. I'd say if you're going to try this place just be prepared. Maybe the fish special was good and maybe the desserts are good....but I know our Combo was not.

Whether you come by car or boat, this place just feels like the ultimate summer hangout. We sat outside and it was everything: breezy, scenic, and so relaxed. The food? Completely amazing. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Generous portions, bold tastes, and that perfect "I need to come back and try more" quality. We left completely satisfied and already planning our next visit just so we can work our way through more of the menu. But the real star of the night was our server, Rachel. She was outstanding -- friendly, attentive, and genuinely fun. She checked on us at just the right times, made great recommendations, and somehow made the whole experience feel personal instead of just another table. You can tell she actually cares about her guests having a great time. Servers like Rachel are rare, and she completely elevated the whole night. Big Buoy's checks every box: fantastic food, incredible service, and that unbeatable lakeside atmosphere. If you're anywhere near Kimberling City or out on Table Rock Lake, do yourself a favor and stop in. We're already looking forward to our next visit -- and requesting Rachel again! Highly, highly recommend.
