Ricky's buffet is the real deal. This is Southern food at its best. Fresh homemade food that keeps you coming back for more. When you first walk in (entrances on left, exit on the right) you go to the counter on the left to place your order and pay up front. We ordered the buffet. It's famous. Then the nicest waitress in the world sets you up with a tray, drinks, and a stack of plates which she brings over to your table. She chats you up the whole time while she's walking you over, and you walk past The Buffet. Oh boy! Start with the salad bar if you like, or go straight to the southern home cooking. You'll find fresh local vegetables transformed into delicious comfort food dishes. I had the field peas, lima beans, turnip greens, fresh mashed potato, and two helpings of meatloaf. The buffet also has fried chicken, baked chicken, chicken wings, sautéed panfish, popcorn shrimp, okra and tomato sauce over rice, and I'm sure I forgetting more. Check out the video I took of the buffet. Bring your appetite to Rickey's, you will leave stuffed and happy. From our window seat, we saw Wendy's across the street. I thought, "Those poor people. I had dinner here and basically dinner for 2 with meal, drinks and tax was $35+ Change Total which seems a little steep on a buffet in my opinion. However they offer both, All-You-Can-Eat Steak which they seemed a little chincy on serving and All-You-Can-Eat Prime Rib which I found them to be most generous on. The prime rib was pretty decent. The steak was just ok in my opinion. This is basically about the same thing as the former Golden Coral that was at this same location with a different name on it and still some of the former Golden Coral decor and signage still in place I saw on our visit. I have found Golden Coral in most of my experiences to be kind of just ok overall and I found this is basically the same. So I guess just think Golden Coral and this gives you an idea of what to expect. As for the level of service I have seen others rave about in their reviews. I found our server to be mediocre along with the most of the food quality so overall I am giving this an average. If you are just hungry, you will not leave hungry. I will also share that would not expect to be wowed either. As for comments on the older condition of the building. I will agree with these posters that this building could use some serious sprucing up and clean up. Will I return ? Maybe if I am though here and I just want to put down some prime rib which seems to be most hard to find and very expensive in a restaurant today as this was the best part of our visit. Other than this, I found it to be a typical ho-hum buffet. Perhaps my review might help if they choose to read and take in some of the constructive criticisms I have seen on this place. I think with some clean-up and TLC, they could have something here! The question will be what will they do with it ? I wish them the best of luck as I like to have unique places to stop and eat in my travels. Unfortunately I found nothing really unique about this place as I felt more like I was in a Golden Coral and some possible previous other past uses of this building that has seen better days. We have been here three times, each time on a Saturday. The buffet includes prime rib on Saturdays. The prime rib was so good! Super tender and very flavorful. The vegetables on the buffet were all very tasty and nicely seasoned. The desserts have been fabulous on each visit. If you like buffets and southern cooking, you need to check out Ricky's. We don't need to go to Bainbridge anymore and are very sorry that we didn't find it sooner. read more

I have eaten at Ricky's Buffet many times...and plan to eat there many more times. Aside from the food being good, the service is great. Ricky often personally visits the customers at their tables. I have also noticed that several of the waitresses who work there have been with Ricky for a number of years. That indicates to me that Ricky also knows how to treat his staff well. The 5 star reviews on here are BOGUS. I have lived in Bainbridge for years and have eaten at this location quite a few times. We are very limited on restaurants in our small town so it's not like we can choose between a large variety of places. i truly believe that is the only reason why Ricky's is still in business..period...lack of any place else and LOW standards. Back when this establishment was "Golden Corral" the food was decent. Nothing to write home about but decent. Since the transition to Ricky's the quality of this establishment has declined. I love a good salad for lunch. Ricky's is hit or miss with something as simple as veggies on the salad bar. Why do i keep going back? Is what i ask myself fairly often. Probably because I WANT TO LIKE IT BECAUSE WE ALL DESERVE A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN PICK UP A FRESH DANG SALAD!!! IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT THEY CANNOT PROVIDE THIS! SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS FRESH VEGGIES! THEY HAVE TO CHEAP OUT AND STORE THE VEGGIES UNTIL THEY ROT. THEN PUT THEM BACK OUT ON THE SALAD BAR!! Just today I sent a coworker for take out and he returned with a nice looking salad. I immediatly SMELLED something rancid when the lid was opened...it was the cucumbers!!! If you can't even do something as simple as cutting a FRESH CUCUMBER for your salad bar daily then you do not deserve business. In fact they FINALLY lost mine. Ok, let me start by saying I should have listened to my instincts when I saw the place from the road but that was my mistake. Their pricing on the menu is not real clear. Went in ordered two buffets and good grief $34. they charged $4.50 for too small tea's alone. Really? I mean really? for dang sugar and water? Also the place is not the cleanest place I have ever seen. Picked up what was supposed to be a clean tray and it had leftover food on it and I could barely hold on to it from the grease so I changed it out and the new one wasn't much better. It couldn't have been washed. The plates look old and have what looks like years of ground in gunk that wont wash off. The whole place is falling apart at best. I should have just turned around the minute I walked in the door and walked back out. I almost passed out when the price rang up. Obviously a lot of people don't really care where they eat based on the reviews of this joint but I do. I will never even set foot in the parking lot of this place again let alone inside. Should have never tried it in the first place. Ruined my outing when I was expecting a nice dinner but again that's my fault for not walking out in the first place. I won't make that mistake again.
