We spent our last night in Noosa enjoying a fantastic meal at Ricky's. We were very lucky/thankful to get a dinner reservation the day-of immediately following a public holiday.
The atmosphere and layout of Ricky's is really nice. We were seated right on the deck with the view of the water.
We tackled their menu in a unique style, we decided that we wanted a few starters (snacks) half a dozen oysters and then a main each. Here's what we had;
*Chorizito ($12)
Delicious mini-chorizo sausages, topped with shaved manchego cheese and puffed corn. The corn is not pop-corn (which might put some people off) but rather cooked/crunchy corn kernals. I really liked this starter!
*Cured Meats ($16)
Two types of cured meats, some small pieces of toast and chili pickles. Very nice.
*Bread Roll ($2.50)
Individual sourdough roll with smoked salt butter. This was really nice, but I'm a little sad that they didn't offer this complimentary considering their overall prices and style.
*Oysters, half dozen ($24)
Delicious South Australian oysters from Coffin Bay came with a grapefruit & bush pepper vinaigrette that was a great way to include pepper to the oysters. I only had two of these, as my wife is the massive oyster fan (and it was 40% of the reason we went to Ricky's that night - to have good oysters).
*Lamb Backstrap ($38)
The star of the show in my humble opinion - taking away "the best lamb dish I've ever had". The lamb backstrap came with crummed belly, artichoke puree, voodoo bacon, and basil cream. All of these combined to be a perfect dish. The lamb itself was cooked to perfection!
*Spanner Crab Spaghettini (Main Size $36)
This entree item was made into a main and was delicious. The combination of garlic, chili, shallot and lemon all complimented the crab. My wife exclaimed "this is what a crab pasta should be like!".
*White Chocolate Parfait ($17)
If the lamb was the star of my meal, then this parfait was the runner-up. Mango Sorbet, yuzu, meringue... all beautiful summer flavours that combined to a blissful end of our meal. We joked about raiding the kitchen and stealing the Mango Sorbet container and fleeing the restaurant (it was that good!). If you even remotely like mango... then get this.

PROS:
* Every food item brought out was delicious/perfect.
* Best Lamb dish I've ever eaten.
* Chef's provided a tasty amuse-bouche before any of our food items came out.
CONS:
* There was a slight/moderate wait to get the waitstaffs attention (to take order, to ask for bill etc) - but this might have been because it was a busy night?
* Bread does not come complimentary (and it probably should).
* You will want to order some items again because they are too tasty.
OVERALL: Fantastic fine dining in Noosa, would highly recommend for anyone looking for something special. The best lamb dish I've ever had! (Bravo guys).
Note: that the meal we had, plus 2 glasses of wine ($13/$10) and a bottle of sparkling water ($6) came to a total of $174.50 - this might be too pricey for some, but consider how much we ordered/had/enjoyed... it seemed ok. read more
