I've been coming up to Coolum from Brisbane for a few years now and it is one of my favourite quick escapes. It gets a little busier with every trip as more and more people wander over from the nearby holiday hotspots and discover its charm. When first coming here I asked for recommendations for nice restaurants and Harvest Restaurant was on everyone's list. We went and have been going back ever since. The menu is modern Australian with many dishes involving local fresh seafood but spatchcock, zucchini flower fritters, pork belly and duck also feature - don't forget to check out their beautiful specials. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.
Last visit for starters we had the spanner crab and snow pea shoot dumplings and also the seared scallops wrapped in angelhair pasta on a cauliflower puree, both of which were faultless, fresh and full of subtle flavours. For mains we both fancied the chargrilled beef fillet which was beautifully cooked and presented with a field mushroom and goat's cheese soufflé, roasted eschallots and a delicious red wine sauce. We shared a side of rich creamy potato mash and enjoyed a bottle of Tahbilk shiraz from their ample wine list.
Harvest is up there with some of the best restaurants on offer on the Sunshine Coast and it is well worth a visit. Prices are not expensive for the quality and standard of the dishes. It is not big and is busy most nights so you will need to book or risk disappointment. read more
