Apparently the capacity is 500 so be prepared to be close to others if your show is sold out! Showed up early prior to doors opening to ensure we got a good spot which is a must especially if you'd like to be close to the stage. The staff was really friendly and set up barricades by the door which helped corral the line. I loved that they had a metal detector set up and a security check point. I felt very safe and comfortable the whole time. I will say be prepared to stand for an extended period especially if you show up early. There is little to no seating available and as show time nears it is practically standing room only. So wear comfy shoes! Overall it's a nice venue and I am glad we have it as an option here in Richmond!

I'd say the entrance fee is reasonable since it includes a concert and essentially an outdoor festival on Brown's Island. If you plan to go often, definitely snag a season pass. The series runs from early May to late June each year and includes a nice lineup of bands. Loveland Distributing caters it with multiple beer trucks (make sure to get wristbands and tickets first). Several food trucks join as well. The event is appropriately staffed, so the lines may look long but do move fast. My main complaint: There were WAY too many smokers. I'd love for it to become a smoke-free event, if possible. Between the humid heat and the heavy aroma in the crowd, it was pretty hard to breathe at times. It's 2018; you KNOW that stuff is bad for you. Stop it. Keep in mind parking might be an issue based on the location. Be prepared to park a few blocks away. I think Ubering is just easier. They even had a Lyft drop off point. Personally, I walked because I live downtown. Easiest option! Definitely look forward to spending more Friday nights at Cheers next year!

The first time was great -…read moreno negative comments to have since we got exactly what we hoped - people were dressed up and the DJ was passionate about Broadway music and creating a fun, kind of nerdy atmosphere. My friends and I had an awesome time! It was a large reason that when another Broadway Rave was scheduled, that my friends and I hopped on the opportunity! This time, it started super late due to technological issues and the DJ apparently was only hired a few hours prior to the start of the dance party. Due to that, he seemed to just play a Spotify playlist rather than allowing us to suggest songs and cater the experience to our specific crowd. The ticket costs weren't too high so I'd go again but I hope that the experience feels more organized.

The whole night was perfect. The crowd was energetic and fun, the venue was clean and well-organized, and the drinks were reasonably priced. If you're looking for a great time with a fantastic atmosphere, Ember Music Hall is the place to be. There are always lots of exciting events happening, and we can't wait to go back!

They give you a wristband that they check for re-entry. I visited recently for the first time to see Emily Wolfe. She put on an amazing performance, and the sound was great. Since it was flat, even though we had maybe three people ahead of us, the view wasn't great. I could see that being annoying with more packed shows. It's not a terrible venue and if a band I want to see is going there, I wouldn't hesitate to return. I just wouldn't seek out shows here otherwise.

Then another worker comes over and says sorry we double booked your table, you can't sit here. He also said, this happens all the time!! Maybe fix your system if it's an often occurrence. Yes a refund was issued but at this point the place is full, bar and all bar tables. So we stand with our drinks (3 of us) and hover by the bar looking for an opening so we can order food bc we're starving. Luckily in mins a table opens up. We sit down and wait and wait and wait. So I go to ask if there's table service or if we should order at the bar. No, there's table service. Finally the guy comes over takes our order for food. At this point from getting there to ordering it's been an hour and we are starving. We order the quesadilla, bbq tacos and cheesesteak. This takes another 45 mins.. ugh Food comes and isn't great. Tacos are super doused in bbq sauce and cheesesteak was bland. My gf is not a picky eater and she only ate one bite. The quesadilla seemed to be alright by her mom's standards. We finally get the bill, put out the card but the guy doesn't come back. My gf takes card to the bar to pay. Person 1 hands it to person 2, gf is standing there waiting to pay- never gets the bill/card back. Then person 2 asks my gf, what can I get you to drink. She says I'm trying to pay my bill, person 1 just gave it to you. Person 2 says, I don't have your card. Minutes later they determine she put it in front of another patron.
