We tried their fried tofu appetizer-came with fried tofu and onion and it smelled delicious! Fried and crispy dipped in their sweet Thai chili was perfect! Also had shrimp chips and they were plain prawn chips. Good crunch but no seasoning. I had their drunken noodles with no protein and it was delicious! The noodles were wider than normal which I loved and the texture was chewy. The sauce was good qnd the peppers and veggies were perfectly crunchy.

The charcuterie board we ordered was excellent and a highlight of the night. The location is also great for nightlife. That said, the drinks didn't quite hit the mark for me, and the service was inconsistent. We were told guests are expected to be quiet during the sets, yet another group was talking loudly and nothing was addressed, which felt a bit uneven. Overall, it's not a place I'd return to, and I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a more diverse crowd.

The restaurant serves Chinese food but I think it is an American version of Chinese food. It was a busy evening on that Friday, 20 June 2025. DECOR - a beautiful restaurant with white and red covered shaded lamps plus a big red dragon hanging on the ceiling. FOOD -- I ordered the Guandong Fried Rice ($10.50) which comes with peas, carrots, and egg. I added shrimp ($5.50) as my protein. A glass of water was also brought out for me. My friend ordered the basil chicken ($18.50) with a Maine Root Beer drink ($4.50). She loved her order. I enjoyed the Guandong Fried Rice with added shrimp. It wasn't overly rich in flavour. The mixture of the peas, carrots, and egg was a simple yet appetizing combination. There was a lot of food on my plate and I may have taken a to-go box home because I remember not being able to finish my dinner. Parking is street parking. If I ever visit Richmond, VA again, then I will definitely come back to Beijing on Grove. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 123/250 total reviews in 2026 - 964 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 7 June 2026

No need to worry. It wasn't anything like that. Yep, it's a dive bar, but it has more of a neighborhood feel... at least at the hour that we were there (8:00 - 10:00 p.m.) on disco night. The tiny parking lot was full. That was surprising given the early hour. Who knew it was because of DISCO! Yep, once a month (4th Saturday of the month), they do a hustle lesson followed by dancing. Most of the attendees were seniors, but there was a sprinkling of younger people with most dressed for the occasion. Lots of sparkles and headbands which made the atmosphere festive. It's a tiny place, but lively. Most of the people there were dancing! So, not a lot of wallflowers. It has a ballroom crowd feel, meaning there are some couples, but singles dance with other singles with the understanding that it's all about practice, not a hookup, so it takes the pressure off saying yes. It gets hot really quick. The A/C isn't fabulous, but you deal with it, right? I have never danced disco before but it was fun. I will be back. Friendly vibes and good times. Try it.
