Today was my baby's first birthday. I went at 3:30pm to pick up the cake I ordered and it was in the wrong color (her name is Violet, and everything was supposed to be in purples, it was in shades of red and pink) We were only 2 hours away from her birthday party in the evening so I was going to just bring it home anyway. They assured me they could get it fixed, didn't want to ruin little ones party, and they said they'd deliver it since it would be tough for me to get baby get back in town and home in time. The corrected purple cake was delivered to my door before 5pm. Who does that?! Huge thank you to the staff at Rick's in Rogers. This will be short, but precise. I have never in my life gone to a bakery after dinner, so when I noticed Rick's right across the driveway from my hotel I thought I'd see what they had. I tried my first ever petit four. Salted caramel was my choice. The girl behind the counter insisted I try a couple thumbprint cookies (i think that's what they're called)Caramel and Raspberry. If you want to add stress to your event this is the place to go! If you want something completely different/terrible than what you order this is most definitely where you should go! If you want a place that doesn't answer the phone for hours this is the place to go. Unfortunately I have used this place twice in the last month, the first time was a disaster but they fixed it after hours of waiting and the cake turned out exactly how it should have in the first place. So I thought I would give them another try, maybe they were having an off day every one has a rough day once in a while right!? WRONG!!!!! I will not EVER use this place again and I will tell everyone I know how terrible their service and end result is. Do yourself a favor and save time and irritation! I have always been a fan of Rick's in Fayetteville. I've used them religiously for years and never been anything less than impressed. I recently ordered 24 cookies for my niece's baby shower from the Rogers location. To say I was let down is an understatement. We placed an order for two dozen airbrushed cookies monogrammed in gold with the letter "L". We were charged $50 for the product. When we went to pick them up, they were hand lettered in yellow and the lettering was very shaky. For the first time I was very disappointed in the product and quality Rick's provided. read more

This place is adorable! We decided to check it out in the morning. Big selection of donuts - I'm from So. CA where there are lots of great donut places and theirs were very close to being as good. Fresher than anywhere else I've tried in NWA. My hubby got biscuits and gravy and a jalapeño sausage roll - he liked both. There are booths, tables and a large old fashioned soda fountain with seating. There were large selections of cakes, cookies and pastries. We were surprised how fair the prices were. Also lots of party accessories (candles, balloons, hats, etc.) available. We will definitely be coming back to try their lunch in the future. read more

Cup of coffee was not close to hot and we had to go on a search for drinks. The petit fours were good but the chocolate silk pie was not worth eating. Rick's Bakery. Nice name but it's really Rick's donut Shop. They do have a few pastries and cup cakes so I suppose it qualifies technically as a bakery. It's a nice clean place with friendly staff but a very odd floor plan. A small gift area, a grab and go section like a gas station and what appears to be a soda fountain left over from the 50's. I purchased a twenty dollar assortment of pastries. For the most part sort of tasteless and not the freshness you would expect. The worst is the 'cream puff'. The pastry shell is cut in half and filled with what appears to be Barbasol shaving cream. Looks like a wanna be Moon Pie. A real disappointment for me. A real cream puff is filled with custard by injection and are delicious. I was shopping after lunch and like all the local donut shops the inventory was pretty well sold out by then. I might try again at an earlier time to see what I missed but it won't be a priority. read more

Rick's bakery is phenomenal. Their turnovers are vegan and the flavors I tried - blueberry turnover and apple turnover - were delicious. The price was also pretty fair. The location is convenient with lots of parking space. I hope they make more vegan treats in the future. read more

Very disappointed in the service today. Last Saturday I placed an order for $80 worth of pastries to pick up on Thursday. When they arrived on Thursday, the order was not ready and the special order cookies had not been made. Also, come to find out they had overcharged me by $18. They would not give me a cash refund, required the card to do the refund. When I did come back in a couple days later to clear it up the two managers blamed the girl taking the order, and me for not asking for a manager sooner. Poor service before after and during. Rick's donuts and muffins are great, so we decided to order a cake for my daughters birthday. The cake was beautiful, however i was very disappointed with the taste or lack thereof. We order cakes for both daughters, however this is the first and last time ordering from Rick's, since it's mostly icing. Based on the fact that the cake costs over $50, you get better quality and taste from Walmart or Sam's bakery for less money. read more

Complete fail! Nothing like working so hard on a party only to have the cake be the most hideous thing ever! I ordered well in advance, provided a photo and brought in the topper. It wasn't ready when it was supposed to be as they made a scheduling error and scheduled it for the following day despite the paperwork showing the correct date. They did manage to bang out the hideous one last minute. So there was no time to do something else. It had sparkly frosting that tasted funky, definitely NOT what was ordered. Then they wrote on the top, not the side as was ordered. The writing totally interfered with the topper. I paid extra for a cream filling and it had some kind of goo...and the cake had no flavor.. will not make this mistake again!! update: I called and spoke to A by about this. She graciously offered a sincere apology and a refund, so kudos for that! At least they stood behind their work. read more

My family usually get desserts from Rick's. Today we ordered a couple pastries including the strawberry gluten free muffin. Everything was fresh and delicious. I wanted to highlight the muffin. Hey so I'm going to have to disagree with some previous reviews. I'm sorry but calling Ricks overpriced? Not hardly. Yeah we could all likely make things at home for cheaper but at home we don't have to pay for wages, insurance for our workers, and the other costs associated with a restaurant. However we had two full sized sandwiches with chips, pickles, and drinks for less than what it typically costs us at Chick-fil-A. I will agree with the previous reviews on one point. This place has a bit of an identity crisis and it's confusing as all get out. The restaurant blends with the bakery and into the cake area. The soda fountain is awesome but it's not utilized nearly to its potential. I'd throw a menu board over the counter and offer shakes, various soda drinks, and make it pop. Hard to tell if you can order there or if it's just for show. Loved the sandwiches. Very fresh and lots of toppings. Had to get our own drinks which felt odd because it has a sit down vibe to it. Got to say the baked goods were lackluster. Picked up a red velvet cookie, peanut butter cookie, a thumb print, and a shortbread on our way out. Cookies were super dry and pretty tough. I'm giving the four stars for the cleanliness and the deli sandwiches. read more

Y'all, I really wanted to love this place. I did! The Rick's in Fayetteville is so good that I was thrilled to have one in Rogers next to my workplace. But, no. The layout is confusing, so we didn't know where to go to pick up our food. They have done a little work to the old Dixie Cafe decor, but the soda shop where we sat is still super corny and out dated. They lost our order for 25 minutes, so when they finally brought it out we had five minutes to eat before we had to be back at work. They offered no compensation or friendly gesture for this! Ok, the important part, the food. It was bad, guys. My BLT had three small pieces of bacon on the whole sandwich, so that it tasted like a lettuce sandwich, and they gave me the heal of the bread (which they turned upside down to try and fool me!). My friend's sandwich was supposed to have bacon on it, but that was left off. But the clincher to making this a terrible experience? This Rick's does NOT give a piece of dessert with the sandwiches! A crying shame! That is what set them apart. I don't like Panera, but I'll eat there again before I come back here. Rick's - - - I know you can do way better! read more

We went in for a bakery item and coffee, but the layout and flow of traffic was very confusing. No one knew what to do or where to go. So it took much longer than we had time for. Two of us got Americano's..which we had to explain to them how to make it. It was terrible and we threw it out and went to Starbucks. The pastry items were good and the staff was very friendly. I love the Fayetteville location (which is the only reason I gave it 3 stars) and frequent it, but it's going to be awhile before I go back to this one.
