There are a good variety of fresh meats to choose from and have them cut to your preferences (pre-made beef kebab are available). The produce section is ok, but nothing spectacular and fits into the "pop in to grab an onion or something" mold. The brands they offer are predominantly generic and nothing wrong with that...but it is what it is. It doesn't hurt that a beer and cigarette store is attached (with a separate entrance) and is located next to a wine and liquor store, makes for an even nicer "pop in and grab a couple things" trip. I definitely hold the meat department up as their shining star and main reason to shop here.

I was the manager of a business that also served food. I took over and revamped the entire menu and used several items from Suitor's. The most popular item was the whole ribeye loin. I sliced the steaks in house and I grilled them over a pit of lava rock. The steaks were always high quality with very little fat issues. Their own brand of breakfast sausage is sold in local grocery stores and is hard to find it in stock a lot of times.

As far as the produce goes, I'd be comfortable buying the peppers, but the rest (on the day I went) were old, some moldy and had a leathery skin appearance and brown bananas. There were cactus leaves, fresh banana leaves and peppers in the cooler. I purchased a couple of poblano peppers for $1.35. I can't find them in Kroger and Walmart has had them in the past, so it's hit or miss finding them when I want them. These were shiny and had no pitted skins. There is a vast selection of herbs and spices, in all forms, rough chopped, minced, tea bag and fresh (wilted today but they are probably generally fresher). As far as the can goods, such as peppers, tomatoes and black beans, they are cheaper at Walmart and for the same brand name. I was really taken aback by the price of a 4 lb bag of regular sugar (no unique brandname, the same as in other stores), they had it priced at $4.19. I did my grocery shopping across the road at Kroger when I left here and I paid $1.89 for 4 lb sugar. The butcher shop area had a rather large selection of meats, ranging from mystery (mystery to me as I didn't recognize the cut and I don't know Spanish well enough to know what the placards said it was) to preseasoned diced meats. I plan to come back for the thin sliced beef to make jerky. It was cut thinner than the butcher at Gardner's could do for me. There were fresh baked breads and buns but no pricing. I will probably grab a bag of buns when I come back for the beef. There are also non-grocery items, such as, cooking vessels, grill for stovetop use, nik-naks, lighters and such.

At checkout, the cashier, Marcorian, asked if I found what I needed....I actually ask where a certain item was and he told me where to look ( thankfully close to the checkout because I had items on the belt) so I quickly retrieved it and was checking out with a kind and welcoming cashier...very refreshing in today's world. I've been shopping here for over a yr now, have always been frustrated with the lack cleanliness, poor produce selection and always having to check expiration dates on fresh items. Sometimes finding dates that are weeks beyond expiration. I shops at many other local stores, as well, but certain items that Kroger has, with coupons, I come here. The only thing that's going for this place is the customer service. They have a very friendly and helpful staff. Sad about the condition of this store...when will management notice? When will this store get a renovation?

This Walmart is probably the worst I have been to. They never have stocked shelves, service people,…read moreand new products. You can never get anyone to unlock the makeup products to purchase, no help in the garden center, or in the hunting section. They are plentiful in workers when it comes to shopping online for you but when asked to help point you in the right direction they never can. If you go to this Walmart to get things you will always leave without what you wanted or something different just to keep from stopping at another store. All other Walmarts puts this one to shame. It has been this way for three years. It needs new staff and management asap. I will drive an hour out of my way to go to a different location.
