In February of this year the pain in my left hip was so severe it was at times a challenge just to…read moreget from my bed to my bathroom. I began doing physical therapy and qigong, and I also began to make some life changes like not spending 12 hours/day hunched over my laptop [gee, I wonder what could be causing that pain?]. I did see a number of specialists, was x-rayed and MIR'd, tried a number of different pain meds and had three cortisone shots. By early March I was at least able to get off pain meds. When the third cortisone shot had no effect, my doctor recommended talking to a surgeon. I did, and it was a good talk. I liked him--mainly because he did not push surgery in the obnoxious ways MD's can push their speciality. Before I took another step towards surgery, however, I thought I would try a chiropractor. I did some research online, saw some appealing websites, but Healing Hands really got my attention. I have practiced qigong/tai chi for years, and was certified in reiki, so I wanted someone practiced in energy work. Angela is. I think it was early April by the time I had my first appointment with her. She immediately saw issues with my spine/posture which made sense of my pain. Within days? maybe a week or two? the pain receded. After a few weeks I began to realize: "Oh! I used to feel a lot of pain when I did that...but not any more!" Eventually the pain was almost entirely gone. In the worst part of this experience I was concerned whether I would ever be able to go hiking again. Well, now every weekend off I go. It is hard to know what to say...except she is clearly an extraordinary healer. Do not be a fool. If you are in pain and none of the traditional methods are working...go see her. In fact, even better: do not wait to find out about the effectiveness of traditional methods. Just save yourself a lot of grief and go see her.

Words will not be able to fully express how wonderful Dr. Tickel and his practice are. Dr. Tickel…read moreis calming, compassionate and full of knowledge and skill. He can explain each movement and adjustment with detail. He treats you as a person and friend and focuses on your problem areas, including how your lifestyle influences your body and the treatments. I am a big proponent of proper and specialized chiropractic care, which you get from Dr. Tickel. You get immediate and long-term relief. Every treatment and adjustment is specific to your issues and areas of concern at that time and goals for the future. I highly recommend him to anyone who asks and have only ever gotten great feedback from those who follow that recommendation.

I've had intermittent back problems for a few years, and every 3-6 months, I find I need chiropractic work. In Colorado, where I'm from, it's pretty straightforward to find care, but here, I had no idea where to go, or especially who to trust. Dr. Tickel put me at ease immediately. I really appreciated that he explained each maneuver and/or therapy during the session. He was very compassionate, but very knowledgeable at the same time. I'm a scientist, and I like to know that someone knows their stuff. My back was so much better after the first visit, and after the second, was completely back to normal. I appreciated that tremendously - it was the worst it had ever gotten because I didn't know where to find care. I'll be recommending him to anyone who asks. Immediate relief, and I'm back to working in my garden without pain and riding my horse. Looking forward to hiking next weekend too. I'm very grateful - I wasn't sure I could find a really terrific provider on the very first visit.

When calling to make an appointment, it's as if you are inviting yourself over for coffee and a chat, not a neck or back adjustment. They have this way making one feel as if they are part of that office. I've never had to wait to be seen. In fact, I've called a couple of times while in town and at the last minute called to see if they could fit me in while I was close by... They've always said 'Come on in... We'll see you when you get here.' With a regular adjustment I'm in and out within about ten minutes. Dr Lowman doesn't push extra treatments on people. He didn't tell me that it would take about six weeks for me to get relief with making appointments two to three times per week. He simply says..."call me when you need me." I really like that.

Dr. Lowman picked up where my accupuncturist/physical therapist left off when I moved to town. I have sports injuries that cause me back pain and headaches every day. He found a long term solution to my pain as well as treatment for me. That coupled with his recommended exercise, better shoes and massage therapy (at a different business), my back has felt the best in years. Although I don't go often, Dr. Lowman's work and advice have been invaluble to me, especially being on a budget. They are always available to take me same-day on those emergency cases. I've referred my husband and mother-in-law to him as well. I only wish his hours included 5-6 PM weekdays or Saturdays for the rigid working-class schedule.
