Since then I've noticed my left side body compensating for my ACL-less right, and then add a year plus of working on farms (read: lots if crawling, digging, bending, lifting, etc), as well being pregnant, and now having a toddler who needs to be held at any given time, I felt I needed to finally get my spine checked out to help me with the feeling of misalignment and uncomfortable and chronic tightness I deal with, especially in my shoulders and mid-back. Dr. Rhett at Venture Chiropractic is great! He explained everything thoroughly and in a way that showed his passion, knowledge and care. He took me through everything step by step in the examination, including the motion tests and the thermography mapping of my spine. It was so cool to see the heat radiating off the right side of my spine (showing inflammation etc)--crazy how different it was to the left. He wasn't pushy when he suggested I get a Gonstead alignment and he explained what an alignment would entail, and asked if I would be interested. Of course I was, and it was very simple. He was gentle and afterwards I definitely felt things had shifted for the better. He explained that it's not a quick fix, that he likes to try as little manipulation for maximal outcome, but that bodies take a bit to adapt because of bad habits, postures and muscle tightness etc, which makes sense. So we'll see how my body reacts in a more long term way to chiropractic care, but if I can gain some better range of motion in certain areas and decrease my neck and back tightness that is a win. After about 7 sessions over 2 months, he told me that I could just come in as-needed, because he'd already noticed a lot of improvement.
