Honest, knowledgeable, quality work!…read more I was told about this mechanic shop from a coworker of mine, and I'm glad I made it out here. I called and spoke to Zach and we agreed on a price so I made my appointment to come in. It was Zach's knowledge on installing "Caliper, Rotor and Brake kits" that made me comfortable in giving him my business. When I left it was Zach's honesty and quality work that made me at ease. Installing new brake kits is a bit nerve racking since if done incorrectly can cause you to be hurt badly. Zach not only knew how to install this special kit, but did the job right. I also asked him to put aside my old calipers since I will be getting my core deposit back once I mail in. Zach not only put it aside, but placed them in the original boxes and packaged them for me. So my hands did not get dirty at all. Zach stated to me he was experienced in many aftermarket installs. After my experience here I will be looking forward to giving Zach more of my business in the future.

This business deserves no stars. I am only forced to select one star in order to leave this review,…read morewhich I strongly disagree with. I am posting this review regarding an engine replacement performed by G & A Auto Diagnostic Wheel Alignment Center Inc. that has resulted in ongoing mechanical problems, safety concerns, and unresolved financial issues. On January 24, 2026, I paid $7,067.15 for an engine replacement. Immediately after leaving the shop (within approximately 2,000 feet), the engine began backfiring and the check engine light came on. When I contacted the mechanic, I was told to "break the engine in" and informed the engine came from a junkyard with an unknown history. The next day, I discovered a significant oil leak. I reported it and was told to return the following week despite the severity of the issue. Since then, I have had to return multiple times due to persistent problems that remain unresolved. I am currently unable to drive normally without repeatedly clearing the check engine light, raising ongoing safety concerns. I was later told the engine had not been tested prior to installation, which in my view is a major deviation from standard repair practice. After all these months, the mechanic (JR Cisneros) has now presented three options: 1. Remove the engine, issue reimbursement, and allow me to source another engine for him to install, while still charging labor costs 2. Wait for the one junkyard supplier this business uses to locate a replacement engine 3. Keep the defective engine and have him rebuild it for a separate labor fee Additional issues include: * Disconnected wires hanging beneath the transmission * Incorrect battery terminal installed, creating safety risks * Flywheel sold as new but appearing old and rusted * Charges for parts that may not have been necessary, as original components were reportedly reusable * A recently purchased alternator found to be damaged after the repair Communication has been inconsistent, with limited meaningful updates despite multiple attempts to follow up. I was eventually given options not disclosed at the time of service, including engine removal with conditional reimbursement dependent on a third party, an indefinite wait for a replacement, or paying additional costs for a rebuild. As a result, I have incurred additional transportation costs and lost income opportunities due to the lack of a functioning vehicle. My request for a full refund and reimbursement remains unresolved. Based on my experience, I would advise caution when considering major engine work from this shop due to unresolved mechanical issues, lack of transparency, and ongoing safety concerns.

I have been on the market for a new mechanic for a long time. My car broke down and was towed by AAA. I found Joe Guarino's as an approved shop on the AAA site. Their reviews were absolutely impeccable and there were so many people that took the time to review them! None of the other shops had many reviews and if they did have a few reviews, they weren't that great. Joe's shop really stood out! It was nice that I was able to schedule an appointment online over the weekend in the late evening and I promptly received a call back from Rich in the office, who is just wonderful! They are very honest and fair. They could have taken advantage of the situation being my car had to be towed there. We suspected the problem was much bigger than it was and they assured me that it was something minor and I didn't even have to pay a ton of money. It was very affordable. They are "woman" friendly and still take the time to explain everything to you in lay-person's terms to where you can understand. They do not dismiss you or talk to you like you're "just a woman"! They look over everything and assess your vehicle for any and all issues and breakdown what is priority as well as what is not priority to fix. They even take the time to explain proper maintenance items and at what intervals they are suggested to be performed. They take the time to ask you questions about all repairs you have had done so they can put it into their system and get to know your car's history. This helps to asses things as they come up and gives them a holistic full picture which helps for future accuracy in diagnostics. I have never seen (in my 52 years) any mechanic take the time to do this. It's exceptional! That also take time to break down the bill and itemization for you so that you know what you are paying for. The gentlemen (owner and office manager) there are so very pleasant (Joe and Rich) and just so personable. You will never find another mechanic shop quite like this one! I promise!

I woke up to my car not starting on a recent Friday morning when the temp dropped into the low 40's...called AAA who told me it was likely the starter as opposed to the battery. As I'm new to the city, I put in a search on yelp and was contacted by multiple mechanics nearby (I'm in Jackson Heights) and requested a quote for pricing--both parts and labor, as well as the turnaround time--and Aegean was by far the best all-around. They were right on top of the correspondence, going back-and-forth with all of the details promptly and were able to secure the part, take in and run full diagnostics on my vehicle, and make the necessary repairs (including securing a new battery which I did not originally have as part of my request) within hours. We started talking around noon or so, and by 5:30, I was on my way home with everything done. They also tipped me off to some other work that I was going to need on the car in the near future regarding the tires, telling me exactly when and why I should be pursuing that work and justifying the need by showing me the tread markings as opposed to just simply claiming work needs to be done like some shops will do. You can tell they are not just about the bottom line, but really want to help out and retain their customers by presenting quality work to be done at the best price possible, which again is rare for a mechanic. These guys definitely just became my new go-to shop for anything in the future, and they guarantee their work in case there's ever a problem going forward. Looking forward to having someone to call without the hassle of searching around in the future, and would 100% recommend to anyone needing a solid mechanic/shop they can actually trust.
