Very rude service and below average food, tonight at the Terrace Restaurant. The man at the bar was very busy as he explained but polite and pleasant. On the other hand, the restaurant manager and owner was really rude and used that they were "busy" as an excuse, and then became incredibly hostile. The girl behind the bar was very polite and smiley to all the families and groups but was flippant, dismissive and rude in her tone to me, solo diner. She didn't even look at me when I gave my post meal coffee order. She kept marching up to me and talking at me when I was on a business call, literally cutting across me whilst I was speaking. The "bruschetta" was a cheese toastie with barely any tomato and no discernible chilli, despite chilli being on the descriptor. When I tried to speak to the manager she stood over me. I asked her very politely if she wouldn't mind sitting and she was very blunt and said No! Too Busy! As I said, her colleague at the bar was capable of communicating he was busy without being rude and blunt. She made every excuse under the sun for her staff and food, none of it accurate: the staff according to her tell people the bruschetta is not a bruschetta and when I said that they didn't tell me, she made a face and looked offended. When I tried to tell her how her blunt response to my requesting she take a seat made me feel, she didn't want to hear it as she knew she had been really inappropriate. She cut me off and interrupted me repeatedly to accuse me of it being "your way or the highway". I couldn't believe her aggression and when I politely denied that and asked to be allowed to finish my sentence, she continued to talk over me and said: "you've finished your sentence, oh yes you have". When I said I found her response unfriendly she literally stuck her finger in my face and said STOP! NOW! and made a very aggressive face and walked away. Throughout I maintained my composure and was polite and calm. I have eaten here several times. Never again as this place clearly discriminates between customers. read more
