However, the last interactions I have had with this company are beyond explanation. 1. During our home build we discovered we overpaid Boulder Mountain approximately $300. I notified the company as soon I discovered the issue and they have not responded to our request for a refund. They have not even let us know they will look into it. They simply have ignored the email. At the end of 30 days we will be notifying DOPL, DCP, and taking legal action. To not respond to a customer concern is unprofessional. To keep money they did not earn is unethical and unjust enrichment. 2. Boulder Mountain gave me a bid in November 2020 to perform rock wall work for $3,400 with a commitment to start in the spring. April 2nd I contacted Don as he requested to get us on the schedule to perform the work. Don replies, "Ok. I'll be ready the first of may. Let [t]ouch base on a few weeks". May 4th I again reach out. Don replies and states prices have gone up. He comes out, remeasures, and says, "it won't be much more" to do the work. He sends a bid which is more than 2.75 times more than the agreed upon price: $7,759.10. I try to understand what just happened because he does not state he miscalculated, says rock rose 40%, fuel increased 75 cents, and rental equipment went up 20%. The math doesn't work out so I ask again. He then falsely states it is impossible to get the rental equipment. I reply that I called two locations and both had the equipment he needed and that we needed to talk. On the phone Don tells me he simply doesn't want to do the job. So, he made excuses, told me he couldn't get the equipment, jacked up the price, all in an effort to discourage me from using him. He also told me that he didn't like my job because it was too difficult to work in my back yard and he could make more money faster on easier jobs. He said that despite our agreement in Nov, and confirmations in April/May, that he would not be coming back. I remind him that we spent tens of thousands of dollars with his company and he mocked me. I then told him how disappointed I was that he would use these slimy tactics and his only response was that he was not proud of it. Don has preached to me for years that he is not the type of contractor that would breach a contract, leave someone in a bind by abandoning a project, price gouge, deceive, or be unethical in his work. In this latest experience he did all of these things including keeping money that did not belong to him nor earn. Where I once highly recommended Boulder Mountain Rock Walls, I no longer do so. This company is just another company looking to make a financial windfall during difficult economic times for people. I suggest you avoid. During our home build I dealt with many contractors who acted like this, who ultimately buried us financially, and frankly I'm sick of it. I expect businesses to be professional, ethical, and honest.

Price quoted was good as were the terms for payment so there were no changes or surprises. The retaining walls were professionally constructed with good looking rocks, I couldn't be happier with the job. I would definitely recommend Boulder Mountain to anyone requiring retaining walls for their property and I would use them again should I ever be in need of their services. Five Stars!

After signing the contract, we heard nothing from them for weeks. They finally showed up unannounced at 4:00 PM. The crew did a mediocre job on roughly three-quarters of the yard, then announced they were done for the day and would return the next day to finish. While on site, the workers took multiple long breaks. The lead spent a noticeable amount of time on his phone scrolling instead of supervising or working. When I asked why they weren't working, he simply said it was hot. It was warm, but they had only been actively working for about 50 minutes when I confronted him. They had been on-site for roughly 2.5 hours total. When they left, the lead claimed they had clocked two hours. The bill later charged us for the full time the truck was at our property (via GPS tracking), regardless of whether the crew was actually working. They also stated that the return visit would have a two-hour minimum. At $195 per hour for a three-man crew, this adds up very quickly for incomplete work. The crew ultimately left several areas with visible weeds untouched. Overall, the service was unprofessional, the work quality was subpar, and the billing practices felt unfair. This company is expensive and not worth it. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Here's a polished and professional review you can use for Utah Valley Landscaping: 5-Star Review for Utah Valley Landscaping I had an outstanding experience with Utah Valley Landscaping. From start to finish, the team was professional, punctual, and stayed within budget--something that's becoming increasingly rare these days. What truly impressed me was their work ethic and skill. They transformed my backyard, which was basically just a patch of weeds, into an incredible outdoor space I now love spending time in. The craftsmanship is top-notch, especially the team that replaced our rusted-out wooden stairs with a beautiful paver deck and staircase--it looks amazing and was clearly done by pros who know what they're doing. Alex was fantastic--always available by phone and frequently on-site to make sure everything was going according to plan. His communication and attention to detail made the entire process smooth. Manuel also stood out with his deep knowledge and incredible work ethic. You can tell this is a team that takes pride in what they do. Highly recommend Utah Valley Landscaping if you want high-quality work done right.

It's like pulling teeth trying to get this company to do anything. They don't respond to emails,…read moreand it takes them nearly a week to respond to voicemails, if they do at all. We finally got a hold of them on the phone, and they agreed to come out a few days later to fix the sprinklers on our rental property. We'd already done a lot of work for them by finding the problem area and digging out around it. They said they would be there Friday or possibly Monday, but we didn't hear anything after that. We called multiple times, and got no answer. Finally got a hold of them on Tuesday, and the receptionist/scheduler, Sierra, told us that the "sprinkler individual" didn't have time and couldn't get to it either of those days. No call to let us know, no explanation, and no apology or offers to come out another day. We asked when they could come out again, and they said Friday, and the same thing happened. We rescheduled 4 different times, and they made us wait ANOTHER WEEK between each new appointment. Each time we didn't receive any sort of call or follow up afterwards, and had no idea what had happened. Because it was a rental we had to keep sending people out to see if they actually did anything. Finally, our property manager told us that the hole we dug ourselves around the sprinkler was filled, many weeks after we initially called Utah Valley Lawn Care. Still, no follow up or contact from the company at all. Two weeks later we got a very basic bill (sent to the rental property, not us), and it didn't list anything other than parts and labor, and with different rates than we'd agreed upon. I don't have any proof that they did any work, or what they did. We still paid the bill because it looks like our pipe was replaced, and we were tired of dealing with them, but it was definitely not worth it. We will never use them again, and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Starting from the quoting process Christine is responsive and easy to work with. They care about your property - they cleaned up each day before leaving and there's never any trash left behind. They even power washed the concrete areas around the project on the last day! Our project involved 4000+ sq ft of turf removal and installing plants, drip irrigation, rocks and a chat path. Mario and his crew worked methodically and because it's the same crew daily they worked well together. The final project looks stunning and that's even before the plants have had time to mature. We are also impressed by their attention to detail and they care about the project holistically instead of "just the area they are being paid". Examples: There were two areas of trees unrelated to their project but they checked the entire irrigation system and found and fixed leaks / broken parts without me asking (I knew of one of the leaky areas and to my surprise they fixed it before I asked). Where edging is used, the weed blocker is secured on the vertical part of the edging so weeds don't grow between. Trees are aligned (I saw them backing away multiple times to verify it looks good). They put mulch around existing trees that was not part of the project so the whole project looks nice. We know this is hard work so we appreciate the level of care and detail your whole team puts into it! Thanks for installing for us the water saving yard of our dreams!
