So far it's good. I had an implant started. Will wait till it's over to review again.

I've been needing to get my wisdom teeth out for some time. I had been putting it off for any…read morereason I could find but one was really starting to give me problems and I couldn't put it off any longer. I had been referred to this office from a dentist a few years ago but came up with a (good enough) reason to put the surgery off for a little while longer. Since the referral, my insurance had changed and I was referred to another oral surgeon, by my current dental coverage. I went to that "big chain" dental office and saw a bunch of red flags and read many bad reviews. I also found out the extraction was going to be out of pocket so I decided to go to Dr. Tillner on my own accord. I met Dr Tillner at the consultation and was really appreciative of his calm demeanor and educated explanation. He gave me the facts, risks and complications and what to expect out of the extraction. I really appreciate his thoroughness and he took the time to answer all the questions I had. The office was very accommodating with scheduling and clear with pricing. The facility is very clean and the staff are all friendly. On the day of the surgery he was very nice and explained every thing that would happen during the extraction. For me it was a stressful thing to do but Dr Tillner was so chill and it put me at ease. I mean obviously he is a professional but he had a confidence about his work and it made it feel less invasive than a routine cleaning. As if pulling teeth is as easy as making a sandwich, no worries. I was put under general anesthesia so I can't comment on his bed side manner during an operation... After the surgery one of the staff wheeled me to my awaiting vehicle and gave very detail instructions on what to expect over the next few days. There were no issues during the healing and I didn't experience any of the potential issues that can occur after wisdom teeth extraction. I am confident in not only the work done by Dr Tillner but of the whole experience provided by his team. Hopefully I never need to go back but if something goes wrong with my teeth I know where to go.

This experience was so disappointing that I feel obligated to warn other parents. My daughter was…read morereferred to Chula Vista Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Center by our dentist for a wisdom tooth extraction. From the very first phone call, I felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a patient. As a single parent, I asked reasonable questions about pricing because I cannot afford surprise bills. The woman I spoke with was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to provide any estimate. Attitude was essentially, "Come in and we'll bill you later if insurance doesn't cover it." That's not helpful when you're trying to plan financially. During that same call, I was told the office would contact my dentist to verify whether my daughter had already had a panoramic X-ray done. This was important because I didn't want my daughter unnecessarily exposed to additional radiation, and I didn't want my insurance billed twice for an X-ray that had already been performed and cost my insurance $200. When we arrived for appointment, front desk staff were just as cold and unfriendly as they had been on the phone. Because appointment was for my daughter, I didn't bring ID with me. They nearly turned us away. The situation became even more frustrating when I asked whether anyone had contacted my dentist regarding the X-ray. I was told it was my responsibility. I explained that your staff had specifically told me they would handle it, and instead of apologizing or trying to resolve the issue, they argued with me. I've honestly never experienced a medical office that argues with patients rather than helping them. An assistant later came in and told me she didn't know what happened at the front desk and that it wasn't her fault. While I understand that, nobody seemed interested in fixing the problem or acknowledging that there had been a communication failure. Then the doctor came in. I assume it was Dr. Tillman, although he looked nothing like the friendly, approachable person shown on the website. My daughter is a minor and was already nervous about oral surgery. The doctor spent only a few seconds looking in her mouth with a Q-tip, barely interacted with her, didn't sit down, didn't make eye contact, and did absolutely nothing to help her feel comfortable. The entire interaction felt rushed, cold, and disconnected. What made it even worse is that the consultation wasn't free. We paid over $100 for what felt like a 10-second examination from someone who seemed completely uninterested in speaking to either me or my daughter. The office manager, Cinthia, was also unfriendly throughout the visit. When she returned with pricing information, I had already explained that we only wanted one tooth removed at this time. Instead of being understanding, she came across as irritated and annoyed. Whether they thought I was being difficult, whether they thought I was rude, or whether they judged me because I couldn't afford to remove multiple teeth at once is irrelevant. Patients deserve to be treated with respect. What bothers me most is that not one person apologized. Not one person said, "I'm sorry for the confusion," or "Let's see how we can help." Nobody tried to make my daughter feel comfortable. Nobody attempted to resolve the communication issues. We were met with arguments, cold attitudes, and complete indifference. This office stands to receive thousands of dollars from insurance for these procedures, yet the level of customer service was some of the worst I have ever experienced. I have an amazing dentist and have been referred to many specialists over the years, and I know what good patient care looks like. This was not it. I left so disappointed that I immediately contacted my dentist and requested a referral elsewhere. Wisdom tooth removal is already stressful and scary, especially for a child. The last thing a family needs is to be treated like a burden. If you're looking for a practice that is warm, compassionate, patient-focused, and willing to communicate respectfully, don't come here. And if Tillman is the Dr I saw today.. how unfortunate.

I had several consultations before deciding to have Dr. Jason Gile do my dental implant surgery. He was very knowledgeable on different implants and spent a lot of time with me explaining things. There are so many things to consider when getting any dental work done, especially if it is a front tooth. Dr. Gile made everything as easy as he could for me. The consultation, which was free, was very straight forward, he let me know exactly what to expect. As for his pricing for the dental implant, it was very reasonable, and he gave the option to have gum grafting done as well, which was also reasonable. Since my insurance wasn't covering the implant Dr. Gile was able to offer me a discount to help out. There were no surprises when it came to paying my bill. From other oral surgeons, I had been quoted from as high as $12,000, to as low as, having people telling me to go to Mexico and get it done for a few hundred dollars (scary). It can be an overwhelming process to choose the right oral surgeon, but I can say Dr. Gile treated me very well, gave me an excellent price and I am extremely happy I chose him. The operation went way better than I could have ever expected, no where near the discomfort of having the tooth pulled. When I went home I was almost completely pain free, which is amazing because I stress my self out over dental work. I was sure I was going to be hating life after the surgery, but I was good. Dr. Gile called me at home that evening to check on me which I thought was nice of him. I'm not saying getting a dental implant is fun or easy, but Dr. Gile and his crew made the process as pain-less as possible (literally and figuratively). He worked with my dentist in choosing the right implant system, and so far everything has gone according to plan, with my Straumann implant. I am a few weeks away from getting my custom abutment and crown and can't wait to get this whole thing behind me. Thank you Dr. Gile.

My first visit was to fix a broken tooth(extraction then implant) and the second was to get my remaining 3 wisdom teeth pulled. I felt comfortable with the procedures before and after. And you get to pick out your own music, what's not to like about that!

I have mixed thoughts about this place and this doctor. Was referred to this location by my dentist…read moredue to part of my upper and lower wisdom teeth coming in heavily impacted. Had my consultation appointment in October. Got x-rays done, filled out some paperwork, and watched a video about the risks this surgery poses. Did not actually get to talk to anyone about any questions or concerns I might've had. That was kinda odd in my opinion. The office itself is very nice and looks promising but the experience I had said otherwise. Early November I had my procedure done. The surgeon was quick but did not present with any compassion if you ask me. Felt pain during the second removal of my lower wisdom teeth and practically felt the entire tooth being yanked out even after multiple anesthesia shots. At one point I jumped up in tears because it was so painful and the surgeon had the nerve to get upset with me for startling him. How else are you supposed to react in pain?! Let me yank out one of your teeth and see how you react. More anesthesia shots were administered and was not successful. Eventually just had to suck it up to get the job done, but the surgeon didn't even bother to check in after the procedure. Apparently no amount of anesthesia was gonna help due to the tooth being so close to the nerve, but I wish they had explained that to me after the x-rays were examined. Got prescribed the typical pain killers for the post-op and received some at home care instructions, but never received a follow up appointment to check in and see if I was healing properly. Ended up going back to my dentist to check in with them and thankfully all is well now, but I wouldn't recommend this doctor or location to others. Be aware.

I know this review is long but if you care about our child please read it…read more My 17-year-old son had all four wisdom teeth removed here, and the entire experience left me upset and honestly regretful that I chose this office. When he became more aware afterward, he told me he woke up during the procedure and felt pressure, which clearly frightened him. That alone is very concerning to me, as it raises questions about whether the anesthesia was adequate. When they brought him out to me, his eyes were extremely red and it was obvious he had been crying. He said he woke up panicked and crying, but they kept him in the back until he "calmed down" because they didn't want me to see him like that. As his parent, that was very upsetting I should have been informed and allowed to be there for my child. What made this worse was the lack of communication overall. After the procedure, the doctor did not come speak to me or explain anything. Instead, I was told to pull my car around, and they brought my child out to me in the car. There was no proper conversation, no walkthrough of what happened, no reassurance nothing. As a parent, you're left wondering: who are we supposed to talk to? How are we supposed to understand what our child just went through? Between my son waking up frightened during the procedure, being kept from me while in distress, and the complete lack of communication afterward, this experience was extremely disappointing. I truly wish I had chosen a different office. This was a stressful and regretful experience for me as a mother. I strongly recommend that other parents ask detailed questions beforehand about anesthesia, recovery policies, and post-procedure communication. Or please look for another office. I hope this office improves how they handle patient care and communication with families.

From the initial phone call to the procedure itself, everything went well. My daughter is an anxious patient, but after reading reviews about Dr. McGann's experience with nervous patients, I felt better about choosing this office. During the consultation Dr. McGann patiently answered all of our questions and the wisdom teeth extractions went better than expected. The aftercare instructions were explained, and her prescriptions were sent to our pharmacy of choice and ready for pickup before we even left the office. Brandy walked my daughter to the car and made sure she was safely in her seat, which I thought was very thoughtful and compassionate. The office itself is contemporary, calm, and welcoming, with beautiful wood accents and two comfortable seating areas. There's a waiting area inside and outside. I really liked the vertical wood partitions. It gave the office a clean, Scandinavian design vibe. The building is on a corner lot with a small parking area in the back, and the entrance is wheelchair accessible. There's also metered street parking directly across the street. The personal touches in the post care bag like chapstick, extra gauze and the syringe for flushing the medicine, meant so much. As a college student, she loves the new sweatshirt! She wore it inside at home today saying how comfortable it is! Wisdom teeth removal is a rite of passage for many teens and I'm so happy that my daughter had a pleasant experience. She's feeling better since the teeth have been removed. So grateful for this office. Dr. McGann's bedside manner and attentiveness are truly top-tier. We live 2.5 to 3 hours away (depending on traffic) so when I realized I had a missed call from the oral surgery office, I panicked a little thinking we had forgotten something! Imagine my relief and surprise when I listened to the voicemail and it was Dr. McGann personally calling the same evening to check on my daughter's healing and progress. A+++ This office treats its patients with respect and care. It operates like a well-oiled machine. Every staff member is efficient, competent, and a skilled communicator. This kind of care is rare.
