I'm picky. I'm high maintenance. I hate going to the dentist. I've got high expectations. I went to more than a dozen dental consultations to pick my dentist after my teeth got messed up (by the best of the best Beverly Hills Dentists!)... and here they are, literally 141 miles away... nearly in another country, but I make the travel. Why? Because they are the best of the best. Also they practice OBI methods meaning they are concerned about your bite. Dr. Addario is by far the most knowledgeable dentist I have ever met on multiple levels. He and his assistant, Sloane are so down to earth, serious but funny. I don't normally smile but he has me laughing while he's drilling a tooth. He greets his patients by name and remembers all of them. Even though I prefer holistic and bio dentists, I have made the crossover because he knows teeth and he cares and my approach to my health. Each time I have an appointment they're ready before me. Dr. Addario often greets me and brings me back and does an amazing job. I will continue to go to NEARLY another country to see Dr. Addario anytime. His staff is competent and professional and helpful. They even have helped me by booking a hotel room when I forgot to.... and ordered me lunch when I have a long appointment. Each appointment so far has been fun, relaxing and full of laughs... that I forget I'm actually getting dentist work done. I trust them... you should too. PS this is why I hate Yelp... the negative reviews are so full of rubbish its annoying. Someone complaining to pay $477 for a root canal? A root canal is like $2500 every where else. His prices are about half of what you'd pay anywhere else and the work is solid. Also they listen to the client. So like many people I'm not a big fan of going to the dentist, and It's been quite sometime since I've seen one. A few days ago I had major pain from my back tooth (wisdom) which I knew it was gonna give me a problem months ago but put it off. I called many other places and couldn't be seen for about a week or two, even though I explained this was an emergency. When I called this office the lady that helped me said she understands and would talk to the doctor and give me a call back. I was very lucky that they were able to fit me in the next day! I have seen so many dentist the past 47 years due to military so never had just one dentist. My last dentist at the Center for Beautiful smiles I thought I had a good one but unfortunately they are closed on my only day off during the week and I didn't get results as promised. I found Dr Nick and during my visit he was very punctual and after examining his findings I didn't realize all the work that needs ti be done that other dentist failed to do. It is heartbreaking to know that there are dentist that just don't care to do a thorough investigation. Dr Nick is a very kind dentist and although it was just a consult he did fix my chip tooth until my next appointment which we will go over all the work that will be done. So far his integrity has won me over and I'm excited to see my ending results without breaking the bank lol. I will continue my reviews. My family and I have been on a quest to find a good, honest, reliable and efficient dentist for the last 2 years. My teenage boys transitioned from pediatric dentistry and my husband refused to go to the dentist because they always ran behind and tried to sell him things that brought them the most profit. It was made very clear to us that although my kids had been regularly attending the dentist since they were younger, they had not received the appropriate care needed. My parents have been seeing Dr. Nick for a couple years now and always raves about how great their experiences were. I was a tad bit jealous as we could not be seen by him due to our insurance During open enrollment last year I called the office and they patiently walked me through all of my options and which one would be accepted in their office. I wasn't even a patient yet and that was super impressive. Once our coverage began in January I scheduled appointments for my family. I have three teenage sons (one who is a college student) and a husband. I am the only person in the family that isn't terrified by the dentist. Dr. Nick and his staff scheduled us in a way that we were together which is what got my family in the door. Dr. Nick talked to them in a language they understood and explained everything!!! Due to COVID-19 my son was home from college and needed work done. He got ALL of his work done before he had to get back to school. Knowledge and understanding is very important and because of their business practice, my family received all the care that they need to get us on the road to good oral health. No miracle pills or cocktails, just great dentistry!!! His staff accommodate you however you need and they are all very kind, flexible and knowledgeable. Ever since I moved, I still go to Sunbow Family Dentistry as I have yet to find another dentist or staff who could deliver the same level of service and care as this office does. Believe me, I tried going to other places and they fall short. The staff here are so knowledgeable and caring! I walk in and everyone knows my name - I'm not just another number or patient. My hygienist is amazing - she is gentle yet thorough. My teeth feel sparkly and new after cleanings! Dr. Addario takes the time to examine, explain everything, and listen to my concerns. After three bouts of BAD dentistry I finally found one that actually cares about the person and not just money. He is very meticulous about his work which I really appreciate. Other dentists have given me qoutes on the work they want done without really seeing what my options were. He also met with my husband at the same time during a consultation for my dentures. I am just like most when it comes to going to a Dentist, rather not go. Then you have to worry about no only pain but possibly being taken advantage of with procedures you don't really need. In my experience with this Office they are very professional and I have never once gotten the feeling I was being taken advantage of. [This is a continuation of an earlier compliment post I wrote..but was too long for Yelp - so here's the rest..] I had braces for 4 years when I was younger. Then almost 20 years later I did Invisilign with Dr. A. If you or or your kids needs to have your teeth re-aligned, Invisilign is a far better option. I think it was more expensive than braces - I shopped around a bit on that, but Wow - the convenience, reduced pain, quality outcome - it's hard to not recommend this enough. Truly an amazing service...and braces was actually pretty tough in my experience. The sharp metal, food caught in them, the initial adjustments were painful for days. The contrast between these two methods is...infinite? Yeah - that's about right. So, I hope this helps you find your way into Nick's office - you'll be thankful you did! Found Dr. Addario through Yelp and glad that I did! We were looking for a new dentist closer to home. I took my daughter here for a checkup since she was complaining of a tooth ache. The staff is very welcoming and Dr. Addario was very thorough and honest. He took the time to go over the exam and answer my questions. I'm someone who truly gets anxiety with dental visits and I felt at ease in this office. However, prior to calling I asked if they accepted Tricare (United Concordia) and I was told they did. But after my daughter's checkup was done, I had a copay (which shouldn't have been the case since we get complimentary cleanings). I had to pay $170 out of pocket. I could be partly to blame since I didn't check if this office was in the network but at the same time I could've been told beforehand that our insurance was accepted but there could be a copay since they are not a network dentist. Because of this I had to cancel all our appointments because $170 for each exam was just too costly for us. But I definitely recommend this office if you're looking for a great dentist. read more

The Sunbow staff has always been professional, friendly, and have routinely accommodated my sometimes-hectic schedule. I was extremely impressed with Dr Addario at first meeting. He called me into his office himself--which he pointed out during the consult--was very personable, really seemed to listen to my concerns and show empathy for my history of bad dentistry. He even used a Maslow pyramid of dental needs: pain being the main concern and my reason for this consult. He really pointed out the value of this first meeting: getting to know his patient's needs. I thought I had finally found the one, the dentist whom I could keep forever--and so close to my home. I was so excited I told all my friends and family. I was made two appointments and was surprised a cleaning appointment was set first since I had had a cleaning done less than 6 months prior with the dentist that caused the pain... Ok no problem! I was still very hopeful, I would just have to leave work early again... Well the dental pain was not addressed at the second office visit either. When he was done working on the wrong tooth I mentioned the pain had gotten worse, assuming that he would begin working on that one next...He sputtered for a bit, looked pointedly at his assistant, and said that tooth had not been scheduled at that visit... WHAT?!! I was too shocked for words. Couldnt really understand. What happened to the pyramid of dental needs he had sold me on? Didnt he even check why I was there? He basically just said oops and that I should schedule again for that week. Sure, I can just leave work whenever I want to... To this day I dont even know if I only paid for one tooth or two. And if I only paid for one, then I would of course be expected to shell out another $400-$600 for the right tooth to be worked on just like magic. And do I want to give this guy a second chance with my history of dental disappointments? I have mulled it over a few months and decided no when the office called to remind me of a pending appt for my next cleaning. The girl inquired why I was cancelling and I told her. She asked if I wanted the Dr to call me and I said it was up to him: what can he say now after all this time? She assured me the doctor would want to speak to me but I never got a call from the office again. Thats ok though. I have moved on to dentist # 5 and my appt is scheduled in 2 wks. Wish me luck. Truth is, I dont know if Dr Addario could have fixed my pain. He said he could but I just lost all confidence in him. The tooth he did work on seems to be alright but I didnt have any issues with it other than an unsightly mercury-containing filling. Which are supposed to be removed, I hear. He seemed pretty proud of his work at the time. I'm just really disappointed he was unable to deliver on his promises. I've been going here for over 10 years and would never think of changing to another Dr. I actually moved from Chula Vista years ago (I even lived in LA for 2 years) and continue to commute here because of their dedicated service and commitment to excellence. Christina, Paulette and Sloan are the ladies that take extra good care of me, they are thorough and make sure I am comfortable, well aware of the care plan and potential costs. By the sheer number of 5 star quality this place has, my review may be meaningless and you probably want to scroll down to see all the dirty grits others have left. So instead, I'd like to propose a different type of review, which is the reviews of PATIENTS that I see walking through those doors that may or may not have a yelp account to put up a review. Beginning - Every person that walks through the door, it's astonishing how the two ladies in the front desks remembers every patients names that walks in and how the patients are freely conversing with the ladies about their personal lives, and even drops off gifts of food for them time to time of how genuine the front desk is with their patients. Middle - Instead of being summoned, the doctor himself will come out to greet his patients, and it never fails to cease that when a patient looks at the doctor, they seem to have a rather faint warm glow to their face as if they are seeing an old friend of theirs rather than someone that's going to penetrate your mouth with metal objects. End - Dr. Addario is a family man of 2 kids and a beautiful wife, he loves sports of crossfitting, and enjoys learning to play the piano. Whether you are male or female, black or white, apples or oranges, I've still have yet to see a person that walks out of the building feeling how horrible it was to go visit the dentist at this place. First off, I must say that I was completely grateful to be seen on a last minute basis on the same day! I was in immense pain from my wisdom tooth and needed emergency care. The staff at Sunbow worked me in super last minute! Plus when I got there they were very welcoming and totally knew how to ease my anxiety! I HATE GOING TO THE DENTIST!! I set up an appointment for the left side of my mouth. I went to that appointment, then was told that they would call me to do the right side. I never heard back from them. I can't thank Dr. Addario and his staff enough. This first visit has me hooked for life. Yesterday morning at 7:15 I called his office, asking if there was any way they could fit me in somewhere, as my tooth was causing me excruciating pain. Debbie took my information and told me she would call me back within the hour with further news. In ten minutes, my phone rang and I was invited to come in at 9 a.m. She emailed me the paperwork to fill out at home and even took care of contacting my insurance for me. I walked into the office that morning to kind greetings, and was soon ushered back into a chair where X-rays were taken. Dr. Addario then came in, introduced himself, and told me that I would be needing a root canal. He thoroughly explained the X-rays to me, showing me what had gone wrong with my tooth. He checked his schedule, and that of a few other dentists, and told me that I could come back that afternoon at 2 to have him work on the procedure. (It was a very busy day, he said.) He was concerned about the pain and my anxiety of anything dental, so he wrote me two prescriptions for medication to take care of it. I came back at 2 in the afternoon and was quickly treated. Dr. Addario explained everything as he was going along, and I was completely numb and relaxed. I felt no pain. Focusing on the Food Network on the ceiling television helped, as well. This morning, the day after the root canal, I was pleasantly surprised by a phone call from Dr. Addario himself, inquiring after my comfort. This was the "icing on the cake", so to speak, and has cemented my decision to move permanently to this dental practice. I can't recommend Dr. Addario and his staff enough. read more

His knowledge and expertise were clearly evident during our first meeting. What I most appreciate about Dr. Addario is his collaborative style. I came across the listing for Dr. Addario's way back in 2010 when I was suffering from a severe toothache. The pain was so terrible that I couldn't sleep, so at 7 in the morning, my husband (boyfriend at the time!) and I were searching the internet for available dentists. As fate would have it, Dr. Addario's was the only place open so early! We flew down to his office, and despite me being a walk-in with no insurance to speak of, they managed to squeeze me in and take care of my tooth in record time, even being so kind as to waive some fees on my bill. Talk about earning some loyalty! Despite being "out of network" (now that I have insurance), Sunbow Family Dentistry is the only dentist's office I'll go to. I had a lot of work done of my teeth since then (scaling and root planing, and about 7-8 cavities) and the procedures have always gone smoothly and quickly with minimal (if at all) pain! I even have a dentist appointment coming up to take care of the last of my cavities this Friday and I feel no anxiety about it at all. It would be perfect if Sunbow was apart of my insurance network, but at least it covers 40% of the fees, and honestly, it's worth it. I've had terrible dentists in the past, so I know something wonderful when I see it. We recently moved into the area and was in search for a kid friendly dentist for my kids. My daughter had never been to a dentist and it's been a year and half since my son went for his first visit. So they were both due to see one. A few people had recommended for us to go to Super Dentist in the Eastlake area. I just feel the place is too commercial and I don't think I would get personal service from them. Plus the reviews on Super Dentist are not very good. I opted for a small, personable office that I know I will get one on one attention. When we walked into to the office we were immediately greeted. The staff were very friendly towards the kids. They showed the kids a treasure chest of toys that could pick from after their dental appointment and were told they would get sugar-free lollipops if they were especially good. We were immediately called into a room especially designed for children. The room had a dental chair with a flat screen TV in front of it and on the ceiling. Nick Jr. was already showing on the TVs. The hygeniest checked my daughter's teeth and was especially gentle with her since it was her first dental visit. The hygenist didn't overwhelm my daughter with a cleaning since she's still a little too young. My son had a blast. He had his first cleaning and he loved it. The hygenist kept telling him that she was going to "tickle" his teeth so she could clean them. It did the trick because he wasn't afraid or anything. Dr. Addario came in once the hygenist was done with the kids. He checked both my kid's teeth and answered any questions I had. He sat with us for a while and he wasn't in rush to see other patients. I felt he genuinely cared about my family and their dental health. My kids got thier special prize from the toy chest and a sugar-ree lollipop. Everytime we pass by the dental office my kids will often ask if they could go see the dentist. That's confirmation that I picked a really good dentist. read more

The hygienists are thorough, and they didn't try to make small talk while sticking stuff in my mouth. (Don't you hate when that happens?
