Yoshi, the owner, seemed genuinely shocked and concerned and insisted I allow him to tow my bike back to GC. I said I'd call up the next day and arrange to have it towed then. I was picked up near Del Amo blue line station by one of the mechanics who operates a tow business independently of GC. I was charged $100 for the 10 mile trip. Yoshi refused to cover any of the cost feigning no connection to the towing company, despite the fact that I was steered towards them.

When Wheels in Motion first opened their doors back in the early 2000s, they just sold a bunch of…read moresalvaged crash jobs. I noticed them growing over the years and becoming an official factory-authorized dealer, so when I was looking to get back into riding, I decided to check out a pre-owned 2019 Yamaha MT-10 they had on the floor. Well, it looks like not much has changed in all these years when it comes to their pre-owned offerings. This bike (with around 10k miles) was in terrible shape. The chain was totally rusted out, the seat was broken, and the left grip was completely loose, indicating a poorly done replacement. The left-side engine case had rash--probably from a drop, which connects to why that grip needed replacement. On top of that, the battery was dead, the front tire was completely bald, the back tire was 4 years old despite having tread, and last but not least, the bike had an active, open safety recall. Yet, their asking price was for a bike in great condition. Whenever I pointed an issue out to the salesperson, he replied that they knew about it and intended on fixing it at the time it was purchased, which I highly doubt. I am pretty sure they would happily sell that bike as-is to an unsuspecting buyer. Otherwise, why not take care of those things to begin with if you plan on doing them anyway? It doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in a major dealership to see a bike in such poor condition on the showroom floor. My guess is they try to pass off a mess to someone first, and if it doesn't sell, only then do they start lowering the price or addressing the issues. It's a shady way to do business.

What he did do, however, is he did do a great diagnosis and then let me know my various options which turned out to be that the best thing I could do was take my bike back to the dealer. To tell my story, I own a Royal Enfield and the bike died on me. I had it towed to the shop and Jerry and his team checked it out. As this is a Royal Enfield, they are fairly rare and parts for them can be pretty hard to come by. After the diagnosis, Jerry took the time to call the various dealers in the area and even check on eBay to see if he could get the part. When he contacted me he informed me that he had no way of knowing where or when he would be able to find that part. Thus, we discussed the matter and it was decided that probably the best thing to do was to take the bike back to the dealership where they have better access to the parts. He held the bike for me for a few days, when it could finally be towed to the dealership. He is a very nice and friendly individual and really knows his stuff. Moreover, he didn't try to charge me an absurd amount of money just to give me a diagnosis and he was very honest about the fact that he would have trouble getting the part. Thus, he is a very trustworthy business owner which I believe you could easily relying on to get your bike fixed correctly.

They were super knowledgeable on all the inventory, super friendly, and did their best to help me out in every way possible (within reason of course). They made my first time buying a bike easy and helped me make the right choice with my 2021 Yamaha Bolt R-Spec. Jessica also made the paperwork process easy and got me on my way with ease. She was incredibly friendly and I'm glad she was able to walk me through the logistic side of things. Gabriel helped out with making sure I knew how and when to maintain the bike when it came to that point. Noel brought out the bike to show me it in all its glory. I'm not good at math, but that's more than double the price of the motorcycle , In interest ... now times that number by the 500+ motorcycles they have ... Those numbers should speak for themselves.. First as a young , dumb 21 year old blinded by shiny plastics on motorcycles . 2nd time, just recently with more sense and ability to understand when I'm being played with . This place will SNAKE you for your money . They'll even offer you $0 down if you're young enough with no credit history , just to lock you into a finance deal that should never, EVER be offered on the table .
